'81 XS400 1981 Yamaha XS400 Great project or starter bike. Cranks, but needs some carb work to get running. Nice Original 1978 Yamaha XS 400 B - 17K - has the deluxe package of mag wheels and electric start- bike has a clean Idaho title- and Had a full tune-up w/ carb clean 2 years ago.. its always started and run smooth and shift smooth w. no smoke or engine noise. All electrical worked. Its been stored w/out gas. its currently a little dusty from storage and not running... needs a new batterry - the brakes bled and some fresh gas/// see pix of inside of gas tank! the only thing its missing is the tach- and the mufflers are starting to rust. The bikes perfect for street tracker (which i was going to turn it into "or cafe racer.) its a minor project thats clean original and will run and drive w a few hours work. I just put in a brand new battery, cleaned the carbs, and got it running well. previous owner has some weird bars with a weird throttle assembly that I cant seem to get working properly, so itll either need a new throttle or somehow figure out how this one works. Currently, it also needs an oil change before it can be run, I left the gas on and the float bowl(s) overflowed with gas into crankcase, so the oils all gassy and no good. I have 2 quarts of oil ill throw in. Front brake is not hooked up. I have the parts for it. also a few other spare parts. Previous owner removed the ignition, and put in a hidden on/off switch under the rear fender, with a starter button on the lower left side. Kind of cool, works well There is also a button on the left side for low/high beam. It is in running condition but needs a little work to be ridable. I also have the gauges and speedo cable which are included. odomoter says 14,999 miles. Clean title. Good tires, inside of tank is clean. I don't have the time or energy to get it ridable, so my loss is your gain!

1979 Yamaha XS400 The bike is in great condition and ready for a new owner. Only 9,159 miles. The bike has had extensive work done such as carbs cleaned, new chain, new shocks, new rear brake and a new rear light. All electric work has been redone. Gas Tank needs a new paint job, and the front brake cylinder needs to be changed. Local Pickup preferred. Out of state buyers will pay for all shipping charges. Selling a 1982 yamaha xs400. Engine was rebuilt and has approximately 5k miles after rebuild and runs strong. It is a first kick start cold or warm. Entire frame was powder coated black. All electronics work. This bike is good to go, tires are near new, brakes were re-done, carbs re-jetted mechanically sound. No shipping will be done, must be a pick up. In chicago land area.
