1982 Classic Japanese Yamaha XS 650. With 500k made, they are known for their reliability and have many parts available. They only made them from 1970-1983. 653cc engine, 4 stroke, vertical twin tops out about 105mph. In good shape. Black mat tank, tires good. Ready to go- Is listed as non-working so registration needs to be updated from 2016 to current.

This is a great bike. I purchased it off of CraigsList about two months ago and started working on it. I had the carbs cleaned and tuned to an after market set of exhaust pipes. Head light and brights work while blinkers need to be rewired. (quick job). I have been wrenching on it and tuning it up. The rear brakes recently got air in the line so they need to be bled. When I purchased the bike I received the Pink Slip for change of ownership but never actually made it to change my name onto the title. All you have to do is walk in and sign it to you. I originally wanted 1600 for the bike considering the time and money I put into building it to its running state. But since the breaks are in need of bleeding you'll have to pick this guy up in a truck or trailer. It runs beautifully. Feel free to test drive it but just be wary of soft rear breaks. I also purchased brand new thick white wall tires for this bike and they cost me $400 for the set. I bought these after a couple years of searching but I have no time and I am not allowed to drive anymore so the whole thing is moot. The bike has a broken gauge and a missing headlight and bezel. Battery was newish but is completely doorknob dead now. Other than that it is complete. The tires are almost perfect in new condition. It ran when I bought it but I never actually rode it myself. It went into storage as I was not ready to do anything with it at the time. This bike comes with another complete 82 maxim that may run but missing Carburetors. I planned on using it for a parts bike though it really should be put on the road as it is very complete and not thrashed. The 82 Maxim 1100 was my favorite bike ever. I have had over 30 bikes in my day and I have just always loved this bike. That is why I searched for it to make as new but alas life deems it not so. This bike is comfortable and has a ton of power. I have done 140 on one years ago and have also rode it to Oregon and back and didn't ever get a hard butt. Not easy to find anymore so only buy it if you love it. I hate to see someone buy them and hack them up. ANyone is welcome to come out and check them out as thoroughly as they like. I have titles for both bikes. The runner is out of reg by a year. The parts bike is out but I don't know how much. I will edit when I get the info.
