1982 Classic Japanese Yamaha XS 650. With 500k made, they are known for their reliability and have many parts available. They only made them from 1970-1983. 653cc engine, 4 stroke, vertical twin tops out about 105mph. In good shape. Black mat tank, tires good. Ready to go- Is listed as non-working so registration needs to be updated from 2016 to current.

For sale is my 1980 Yamaha XS 650.The bike is from 1980 and in rideable condition as is. This could be an excellent candidate for restoration or full customization, this is a versatile platform with plenty of aftermarket support.Bike is in good running condition. I've rebuilt the petcock and carbs, replaced the battery (placed on a tender when not in use). Stored in a garage on the center stand. Stock air boxes were restored with factory parts from eBay, filters are brand new. Spark plugs were replaced. Battery is good.Includes:Factory Yamaha service manualMiscellaneous gaskets that came with the bikeHighway barsHomemade sissy barMatching side covers (color is not matched to the tank, these were purchased from eBay) and one spare cover.Clean Idaho titleHear it start and run - https://youtu.be/OOAIpMB_SZcThe clutch could use adjustment and/or the cable could use some lubrication. The return spring on the kick starter doesn't work but you can still kick it over by pulling the lever back up manually, and the electric starter gear is worn but still works (this is typical of older Yamaha's, there are parts available to fix it).$1400.00 or best offer. This is a 1979 Yamaha xs 650 Special with plans of building a Chopper or Cafe Racer out of it, but I realized I just got too many irons in the fire already. I bought it off of a guy I have purchoused several bikes from in the past, he purchoused it out of an estate. The bike is pretty complete except for missing throttle cables, and plastic tube grip slips on which you can see in pics. He had it running in the spring , but needs a battery now motor kicks over with good compressionno signs of ever being laid down or in an accident, one dent in top of tank looks like something fell on it, a small one on side, seat has been taped and a one side cover missing badge, In the 70s Yamaha designed this motor compete with british bikes like Triumph and BSA with style size and apperience making it a 650 twin with and exhaust angled outward but with the dependability of a Yamaha. This bike left as it would make a great rider, 60s 70s style chopper Bobber, or Cafe Racer. As I said bike came out of an estate so there is no title the bike is sold with notorized bill of sale wich is all needed in many states for a bike of this age, or can be used to obtain a title. $550 or reasonable offer open to trades for other bikes firearms etc..Thank YouTom Weatherby330-553-1946
