I bought this bike new in spring of 1978. The mufflers were the first thing to be replaced. I installed a kirker system, well even a kirker can't last forever. It now has a chrome system I found on Ebay. Imagen that! Next was the seat. This time I found a seat kit at JC Whitney and the handle bars. Well even JC Whitney vinyl won't last forever, so I had it recovered with leather. Yes it is beginning to show some age. Next, Sport fairings were becoming popular, and I found a company called Greer sport fairings, or something like that. I called them and asked if they had one for the xs1100. They said they had not fit one to the xs1100 yet, but they thought their Kawasaki mount would work. They offered to send me the mount and let me test fit it, and if it fit let them know and we would get together on the rest. Well it fit, so I guess I have the only XS1100 with a greer sport fairing! Sense the bike looked sporty, I thought it needed new shocks. So I installed Fox Shox. The right one is leaking now. I also installed progressive front springs. and not to long ago the front fork seals were replaced. You may or may not know about the rubber carb mounts. Well they are prone to cracking. Usually the cracks don't go all the way through and cause a vacuum leak, but theses were looking pretty bad so they were replaced 2 - 3 years ago. Those are the high lights from 1978 till today. Now I will try to tell you what you are looking at in the photos. pic 1 looks good, the gold emblems have been replaced. the plastic side panels have been cracked and repaired, only show on the back side pic 1 & 2 & 3 You can see where the side cases stick through the fairing side panels I had to trim the fairing to fit. pic 5 notice the bike still has the center stand pic 6 notice the small rear sig lights and the kerker sticker is from when it had a kerker pic 9 the fairing is not bent I just did not have the handle bars straight pic 12 - 14 details of the gas tank. the top paint is cracking, the pin strips are cracking and cloudy, and where the throdel cable touches the tank on full lock right, paint is damaged pin strips all over are not perfect pic 15 you can see the seat is showing some age pic 17 that is the chrome on the tail lamp, trying to show that there is some rust here and there. pic 18 Fox Shox pic 19 the not leaking shock pic 20 the leaking shock pic 21 - 22 I'm going to estimate the tires are about 1/2 and the front is beginning to show some cracking on the side walls There are a few oil leaks, and it will smoke on start up. The left fuel valve will leak if you move the lever. don't move it and it won't leak.

1979 Yamaha Xs650 , For starters, this bike is not currently running. It was running, then started missing on the right cylinder. Now I've taken the carbs off. If I get time, I might put them back on and try to get this sweet little darling started up again. Let's be honest, this little bike came to me as a project. I got her running and had some glorious weekends. Earlier this year the engine started fouling the right cylinder and I just didn't have the time to run down the culprit. A new bike was purchased and this one was pushed to the corner of the garage. She has new: NGK spark plugs and wires, RK 530 Chain, Uni Filters, EBK Clutch plates, EBK Clutch springs, "long" single clutch pushrod, Lowbrow Customs Clutch Spring Screws, Oil Filter, Speedometer, Halogen Headlight conversion kit, and more. She still needs: Someone to figure out why there is oil fouling the right cylinder. I suspect it is a $4.00 valve seal, but I can't be sure. Also needs a good dose of Gas Tank Sealer. (Has surface rust in the tank). Probably going to need a new battery. This model won't run without a battery or a capacitor. I really like the vintage UJM style of the xs650. It is one of the most customized bikes of all time and is a blank canvas when it comes to making it your own. There are loads of aftermarket and replacement parts available. I don't want to sell it. I don't need the money, but did buy a new bike and I am getting married so a little extra cash would be welcome. Besides, a motorcycle is meant to be ridden, not stored. Anyway, I'm asking $1,500.00 OBO. No Title. Bill of Sale Only. $1,500.00

1978 Yamaha Xs650 , I had a custom built 1978 Yamaha XS650 last summer. I had to buy a car for work reasons, now trying to my bike to help pay that off. Runs great, built from scratch, mileage has 17,000 miles on it but hasn't been rode very much since it's been built. The bike has a kick starter and a push start. I had it tuned up and checked on by a mechanic just a few weeks ago to make sure everything is working correctly. It's ready to go! $4,000.00

The fastest built bike in its time. I have worked on this bike for awhile and its time to let it go. New paint, new Tires, and runs great!! It has a Kercher exhaust with a wicked sound. The seat and luggage rack in great shape. The brakes are all new The Carbs have been rebuilt. New TIRES AND THEY DO NOT HAVE 50 MILES ON THEM SEAT IS IN GREAT CONDITIION Motor is super clean. I have added the odometer and because of its age i cannot put it as original miles but I believe them to be accurate. I bought this bike originally from my brother n lawwho had it for years before I got it and restored it. I have a clear title and is currently tagged and registered in my name I dont have the dog ear handlebars but they are on ebay for sale. I am only selling because I am moving to other projects and I dont have tme to ride it especially with the 4 others I have.
