I found this Maico at a local vintage show in PA. I had always wanted to restore the bike that I had raced in the 70's. The bike was just a frame, forks, wheels and engine. With over 100 hours invested , the bike was restored and rebuilt from the bottom up. No part was over looked. The frame was stripped and repainted with the exact silver from the 72 Maico factory race bikes. The rest of the bike is custom painted in the 72 factory race colors and design ! Both the top and bottom ends were rebuilt and a Mikuni carb kit installed. The Mikuni carb makes the engine smooth as silk and the bike is as fast as any bike in it's class . Plus you have the best handling bike vintage bike in it's class ! This is a beautiful show bike that is also built to race. Ready to ride Honda 250R runs great in good condition. Aftermarket FMF exhaust but otherwise stock. Second owner purchased in 2019 and ridden very little, good tires. Garage kept and well maintained. 2009 Husqvarna WR300 purchased brand new in 2011. This bike has very little time on it for less than 50 hours and is in Show room condition. I have an extremely nice 1982 YZ490 DG Exhaust and muffler Look Like original tires? Needs the OEM air box. The previous owner put a K&N filter on it. Starts in 1-2 kicks everytime. Located 1 hour north of Minneapolis. I can ship the bike for about $550 in the lower 48 states.

1980 Maico 250 Ready to race AHRMA. Lawyer bought it from a doctor who explained that he had Maico Werks do all the prep back East. It has Mikuni Carb, Works Performance rear shocks, new fork seals, Terry cables, counter-shaft protector, aluminum ignition cover, Magura throttle and all the stuff you see in the photos. I believe he threw in a head, barrel. piston and a bunch of extra parts that he had and I would include that with tank stickers and all the Maico items I will look around for. If you are shorter in the inseam, you will appreciate the great ergonomics of the 1980. My friends always said it was the best handling Maico and very reliable. I am selling it because I have had no time to start another hobby again and the wife wants her garage area back. I don't need any help selling it as is to serious inquires please and cash only.

Purchased this for my husband for a play bike but our 12 year old son ended up with it. IT has just been a bike to ride in mountains on camping trips and at our lakehouse in the country. It has been in our barn and not ridden in a few years. ITs like new and is very fast! We live in NW Louisiana.
