This bike is for sale as is,I am not sure of the year or model. It has twin exhaust ports,1 spark plug and 1 carb.Looks to be mostly intact, the exhaust and air cleaner are missing other than that its all there. It does have compression and the shifter and brakes work. The vin on the engine is 129819.
New 1973 400MX. NOS bike. Assembled from a crate earlier this year. All original including the tires. No dry rot on any of the rubber parts. The oxidation preventative, Cosmoline removed from the machine. Gear box flushed and new oil added. New replica front fender replaces the original as the PVC plastic on the original was breaking down and sticky. Fork seals replaced with new fork oil. Bike was started and runs great. I would recommend a Mikuni kit if this bike is to be ridden or raced. The Jikov carb parts are very difficult to come by these days.
1975 CZ. The frame has been modified to move the shocks forward. It's a production bike with some after market parts on it like the "Fox Shocks", after market handle bars and pipe and swingarm. It's in very rough condition, not running. Call Josh 940-367-8702 in Dallas Texas
Great classic cz400. These are pretty rare to find in original condition. Most have been snatched up and all aftermarketed out for racing. This one was properly put away in 1985 and has sat in the basement all this time. Bike was bought new in 1973 and the aluminum parts were immediately swapped for lighter plastic accessories for racing. Bike runs well, carb was cleaned but needs to be tuned. I'll work with you if your close but You will not come across another one of these that is unmolested any time soon. Book value is much higher that what I'm asking. I have original manual and title.
This bike came from a small town in South Dakota and I found it at an auction. After getting it home I bought a new battery, aired up the tires, gassed it up and to my amazement it started up with very little effort, so I took it for a ride. The engine runs strong and it shifts smoothly except it shifts just the opposite from my Triumph with 1st gear being in the up position. The tires are good and the lights work but the speedometer and horn don't work and I haven't looked into that yet. A friend of mine spent many years in Germany as a BMW motorcycle mechanic and said these were very popular in Europe and bullet-proof little bikes. From what I'v e seen so far I think he's right. If I were a collector and wanted an unusual bike to restore this would be a very worthwhile project or just enjoy it as it is. The production date on the frame says 1963 but it is titled as a 1964. From what I've learned JAWA aquired CZ and therefore explaining the fact that it's titled under one name but has CZ on the tank. Call me with any questions at (605) 351-1832 in South Dakota. Thanks.
