1980 Yamaha XS850 Midnight Special, Midnight Special!! The Yamaha XS 850 Midnight Special was a line of motorcycles produced by the Yamaha from 1976 to 1981, {This one is a 1980}, for the worldwide motorcycle market. The Midnight Special has the gloss black, and Gold treatment, this gave it a one of a kind, head turning look! This bike received rave reviews in Cycle World, who called it a "Bargain BMW" and rated it one of their top 10 bikes in the world. The Yamaha factory "special" is the fore fathers of the modern day cruiser. The feeling of a three-banger comes from the dual life it leads. It tries to blend the torque of a twin with the fast revving horsepower of an in-line four and in my opinion does an all right job of it. The XS850 is a strong running right off the line and makes a good amount of power through its rev range. Not to say that it's a tire shredding beast, but rather a competent motor for hauling around a rider or two and their gear. This one came to us as a trade in. We have serviced it, It has like new tires on it, both the front, and the rear! The seat has had a recover job done on it and a good job was done. Good basic transportation, give us a call!!! 1978 XS 400 in great shape! Kickstart only. Can be challenging to start, once she starts she runs like a gem and will easily start again. She is a vintage bike so she needs someone who likes to tinker. She has been stored inside all her life. Approximately 74,000 miles, clean title. I'm selling her because I don't have time to tinker and I want a bike for long distances. She really is beautiful.
Harriet is a beautiful bike. She has an old school kick start and can be fickle if she hasn't been ridden regularly. She has a little more than 76,000 miles on her but she has been an indoor bike all of her life so her body is in great shape. I have ridden her back and forth to work on a weekly basis for nearly a year. In the early summer of 2016 I had her carburetor cleaned and refurbished, and replaced her spark plugs, float valves, bowl gaskets, and T/S damper. She also has a new battery and her wheels are in great shape. She also has her original Yamaha tool kit. She has 6 gears and weighs roughly 350 lbs. She is an awesome commuter bike and would be happy to find a home with someone who loves to tinker. She is vintage and in lovely shape. 1977 Yamaha XS650D With some reluctance I am putting This bike up for sale as it turned out very nice. This is a bike in “survivor” condition, meaning in original paint (unrestored) with blemishes included as the bike has “earned” them. Todays rule of thumb is if it has 35% of the original finish do not restore. This one has 90%? Or so. At the Vintage Rally at the National Motorcycle Museum it was awarded the Best Preserved Japanese Bike at the 2015 show and it was not totally finished. It has taken me a couple of years to get to this condition. Back in the day the owner watched too many Along Came Bronson TV episodes! It had 6” over forktubes, a king queen seat with sissybar, 6 bend apes, an extended sidestand. The odemeter read under 5K miles which I attribute to how poorly the bike handeled. All of that had to be changed out! Condition: It is a good running bike, and I have put around 200 road miles on it since I got it on the road. Miles: I bought the bike with unknown miles, however it showed under 5K you be the judge, as it wasn’t an issue to me. Replacement speedo has 18K showing Seat original cover and base not a recover! Tank: one small faint crease dent (paint less dent removal a repair option ?) otherwise a very nice tank Side covers: Right: matches condition of tank Left has some chips, but niceNew: Tires (period correct Dunlop K70 Goldseals front and back), tubes, rim strips, battery, front brake pads and brake hose, fork seals rider pegs, shift rubber, kick start rubber (these are ok parts for preservation class) Parts replaced with good used items: Fork tubes and sliders side stand tach and speedometer as originals moved very slow…yours if you wish them. Handle bar electrical controls, seat, handlebars, turn signal parts, mufflers. Non stock components: mirrors (although said to be period correct) mufflers which are old replacements (I have rusted originals if you wish) Must purchase in person as shipping is not an option. cash prefered.
1980 Yamaha Xs650 , Custom electronics oil bag, new battery. Electric and kick start. Forward controls are custom made and the shift is a kicker style, (one down and use your heel to shift up). Both the front and rear fender are now flat black. All of the manufactured parts on the bike were bought at TC Bros Choppers. The tank is Pasti Dipped and it was left alone. Runs great and is fun to ride. I have a HD so I don't need two bikes to ride. 1981 Yamaha Xs1100 , 1981 Yamaha XS 1100 SH aka XS11 XS Eleven one of the first japanese superbikes to hit the market. it has about 30,000 miles. runs and starts great. clean title. cleaning out the garage to make some room for projects there is a small scratch on the left side of the tank runs fine, clutch is touchy motivated to sell quickly clean iowa title, ready to ride today $1,500.00
........... the bike runs and drives like new! tons of torque, sounds like a old triumph. there are a few dings and scratches here and there ...I had the back shocks adjusted in the low setting and you could put your feet flat on the ground , I am 5'7" so the bike would be great for a short person guy or gal..... I have had them all Honda, BMW, Harley, this is in the same class as my honda CB 350 was, but so much better, sound and power......I rode this for a few miles here around the lake what a blast very cool...the bike looks new and with only 2700 miles close to it ......call me with any ????? 712 330 5000 Rick
