Beautiful original Daytona Orange paint 1975 BMW R90s . I am the third owner of this bike and purchased it this spring in Manchester New Hampshire. I flew out and rode the bike 2600 miles home two up. It currently has 41,859 miles but is going up slightly. The bike runs and rides beautifully. I had intentions of putting all of the original R90s parts back on the bike but have really grown to like the RS fairing and Lester Mag wheels. I do have the original R90s fairing, original spoke wheels, and most of the necessary hardware to return it to it's original configuration as shown in the last picture. I also have a large file of information and service records from the first two owners. The top end was freshened up at 34,995 miles along with the dual plug conversion, I believe this was done in the mid 1980's but the invoice isn't dated. The RS Fairing was installed and painted to match in the early 1980's along with the LESTER mag wheels. The paint on the tanks and fenders is original and is not perfect but is very nice and still shines. There is a small dent on the right side of the tank that is shown in the pictures. The tail also has some scrapes and a crack in the sheet metal where it looks like someone tried to pick it up at some time. I had new Metzler Lasertec tires installed at 41,500 miles I also just changed the engine oil and filter along with the pan gasket and the drive and transmission fluid. I would not hesitate to ride this back across the country tomorrow. Please look at the pictures carefully as this is NOT a perfect bike but is a VERY nice, well sorted, ORIGINAL PAINT rider. It attracts LOTS of attention. If there are specific items you would like pictures of I have LOTS more or will take more. Please call with any questions or concerns. Ryan 303-263-0641

TOOOOO MANY TOYS! NEED TO SELL A FEW TO GET MY GARAGE BACK! This BEAUTIFUL AIRHEAD is the pinnacle of 70's Sport Bikes and one of the most sought after classic BMW Motorcycles out there! "So, what is the big deal about the R90S? Why consider this a "superbike" that ranks alongside other high water mark bikes across performance eras? Simply because British rider Reg Pridmore, mounted on a BMW R90S, and won the first US AMA Superbike Championship in 1976. That my friends, is some serious racetrack credentials! It doesn't hurt that the bike - penned under the eye of legendary designer Hans Muth (think BMW R100RS, BMW R65LS, Suzuki Katana & XN85 Turbo) has the classic proportions of style and speed." This was the last year of the R90S and this model has many improvements over the previous years models. There were 1,260 1976 R90S units produced for the US. You can read more about this model in Ian Falloon's book, "BMW R90S" of the Motorcycle Collector Series. Finished in Silver Smoke, this is a true rider's dream. Showing what is believed to be 88K original miles. The bike starts and runs without any odd noises or smoke from the exhaust. The previous owner, believed to be the second owner, had this bike for 21 years and only put 12K miles on it. Service was done at Iron Horse and they are familiar with it. The clean AZ title shows that is was transferred from the original New Mexico title. Tires are aged and cracking, even though there is plenty of tread left. They should be replaced before riding any real distance. The engine oil pan gasket weeps a bit. It leaves a couple small drips if it isn't ridden regularly. The oil looks to be in good shape, but changing as soon as the filter kit I order arrives. All of the gauges function as designed and look very nice Seat cover is generally nice but has a few, very small cracks. The period Krauser hard side bags are in decent condition and are included with purchase.

800x600 This motorcycle looks nearly showroom original, including little things like the original shock and shock covers, original barrel key (not available anymore), kick start (last year available as option), and rear (European) mud flap. Perfect for daily rider or show. An east coast BMW dealer has a completely restored 1975 R90S Daytona Orange listed for $30,995 if you are looking for a nicer R90S. However, if you have a slightly smaller budget, read on. Paint is better than original, repainted by master “smoke” painter in Orange, California, (has since passed away), one of the few that did it so well, some BMW dealers used him as their restoration painter. The only parts I know of that are NOT original are the Lufmeister triple clamp, the Corbin sport seat (the original seat is also included for competitive BMW shows), handlebar ends, stainless brake lines covered with black sleeve to look original, BMW battery charger connect plug (makes keeping the battery charged REALLY easy), the Hepco & Becker deeper hard bags with secure latches and locks (these bags can hold a full face helmet). Hepco & Becker are the same folks that made the original bags for the R90S, however, the new latch and locks work perfectly and no stories about how you arrived at your destination only to discover that one or both of your hard bags fell off somewhere while you traveled like with the old “seat belt” style latches. The mechanical condition is nothing short of spectacular with matching frame and engine numbers. This motorcycle is so powerful and fast, you will appreciate the Corbin sport seat since you probably would have slid off the stock seat otherwise. This R90S is unmolested (it still has the original ignition points, no electronic ignition here!) The only engine improvements are BMW recommended improvements including gearbox rebuild with upgraded shift mechanism. The original housing was kept and re-installed in order to keep the original appearance. Past service included replacement of clutch and drive-shaft (u-joints were slightly sloppy) and ring seal. An updated crankcase breather valve has been installed. Complete carburetor rebuilds, clock rebuild including quartz movement, and Michelin tires. This motorcycle is a nuisance to ride. I can’t go anywhere without folks coming up to me with questions/comments. Most folks think it is new, the ones that know what it is, just stare in awe. If you do not like being approached by admirers, this is the wrong motorcycle for you. Sold “As is, where is”, no warranty stated or implied. This is a classic vintage motorcycle, it is NOT new and there are slight signs of use and ware typical of a 40 year old motorcycle, however, it is EXTREMELY well preserved overall. This R90S has spent most of its life on the west and gulf coast in a climate controlled environment. I was advised that this R90S was Winner of the Preservation Award 2004 MOA National Rally. Mileage is currently 48372 and will change as I am riding when weather is nice. A $500.00 deposit required within 48 hours of end of auction, final payment via bank wire or cash within 7 days of end of auction, and pick up within 10 days of end of auction. I can help co-ordinate with shipper if necessary. It is unlikely that you will have an opportunity to purchase a 1975 Daytona Orange R90S in this condition in the future at this price. Good Luck and happy riding to the winner. Please email with any questions [email protected]. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
