This is a classic '71 BMW R50/5 Toaster, matching numbers, runs/drives great with 2,711 miles. Was a barn find, has sat since '92 until I got it about a year ago, was missing original seat. Tank was repainted and a later seat was fitted. Bing carbs and tank were cleaned, ignition adjusted and runs great. Clean and Clear Idaho title in hand. call/text anytime 208 891 zero553

Last of the best RTs! 1999 R-1100-RTP, lovingly cared for by owner/mechanic. Was a CHP Sargent's bike in SoCal and taken with him at his retirement. I purchased it from his son. Custom $1500 flat black paint done by Roman's Exotic Customs in Las Vegas. Gloss black undercoat with a matt clear coat and striped with flat black with matt clear. Looks amazing! Beautiful BUT VERY HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH.. My photos don't due it justice! Recent tune/clutch/valve adjust/belts/brakes/tires. Comes with special RT tool kit, full cover & riding pants. HEATED GRIPS_ELECTRIC ADJUST WINDSCREEN-ABS BRAKES Ready for anything!Right travel case lock broken, standard wear and tear scratches on both cases. BIKE IS ALSO LISTED LOCALLY AND IS SUBJECT TO LOCAL SALE. ABOUT RTP's: BMW motorcycles have long served European police forces including Germany's federal polizei. Since 1997, the California Highway Patrol has deployed hundreds of BMW RTs. Not long after, Beemers with lights a' blazin' began appearing in the rear-view mirrors of traffic offenders all across the USA. The R1100RT-P "Oilheads" continuously demonstrated their utility as service vehicles. They out-handle, out-accelerate and out-brake more pedestrian Harley-Davidson and Kawasaki police mounts. Good wind protection and safety features such as ABS further qualified RTs as suitable service bikes. BMW further supported police use by offering special side and hazard lights, radar mounts, a high-output alternator, functional cargo space and other tactical equipment. Service vehicles have a finite lifespan, so a steady supply of ex-police bikes trickles out to the public via government-surplus auctions. So why buy an ex-cop RT? They are set up with rider comfort and utility in mind. Small touches like the broad solo seat make a big difference when you spend long hours in the saddle. Some folks simply like the mystique of riding a motorcycle that previously chased bad guys. BMWs have a reputation for long life and reliability. The CHP usually keeps its Boxers for at least 100,000 miles before retirement but this one was given to a Sargent who retired and I got it with only 22K miles on it. -- I used it for a freeway (101) between Santa Barbara and Santa Rosa, California (400+ miles each way) ONE AMAZING MOTORCYCLE!! Item: 1996 BMW R1100 RT sport touring motorcycle with plenty of extras. This bike is a great 1-up or 2-up carver to cover big distances in comfort at speed with a plenty of Boxer power and all the amenities. Condition: Bike is used but in very good condition. Minor scuffs on paint and bags in some areas from normal wear and tear. Front tire is somewhat worn but will leave to new owner to install tire set of their choice. Features: Sport touring motorcycle, comfortable riding position for both rider & passenger, ABS brakes, Heated Handle Bar Grips, Engine Guards, lockable/removable Saddle Bags & Tourpak with passenger Backrest, Windshield, 12 volt outlets, Heating Ducts for riders hands, helmet locks, centerstand. The bike comes with OEM rider and passenger seats. I also have a "low" rider seat for riders of short stature available as an option (normally retails for >$250).
