The original Norton Commando first saw the light of day all the way back in 1967. Production spanned ten years, and the Commando was crowned “Machine of the Year” by the U.K.-based Motor Cycle News for five consecutive years, starting with its sophomore year in ’68 and running through ’72. Norton Motorcycles re - introduces us to the Commando with the 961 MK II family that brings classic, British style and modern engineering together. A traditional, double-cradle / double-downtube frame supports the engine and mounts a tiny oil cooler just south of the steering head where it has a minimal impact on aesthetics. Air-cooling precludes the need for a radiator, and so the front of the frame is wide open with an unimpeded view of the engine. The steering head angle gives us a 24.5-degree rake with 3.9 inches of trail, and those figures along with the compact, 55.9-inch wheelbase make these bikes very agile indeed. - Stock #: R1690PERFECT - ONLY 3 MILES - BIKE CAME IN ORIGINAL DELIVERY CRATE

1974 Norton Commando 850 Roadster, This gorgeous and iconic bike is in overall excellent condition and everything works and functions as it should. Easy to start if primed properly. There is no compression release however with a little finesse, you should have no problems starting it. (I am a 120 lb young lady and have no problems starting it). It is free of blemishes, scratches, dents, etc.As with any old bike, it needs regular riding and up keep to remain in this condition! The Norton 961 Series II line of Commando and Dominator motorcycles are the first in the series of new production Norton Motorcycles.  Powered by a fairly conventional (for Norton) looking 961cc parallel twin cylinder motor, cooled by the flow of air and oil and fueled by modern EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) and perhaps most importantly spinning a superbly designed counter balancer shaft, this is the motor taking Norton into the modern world, and smoothly at that.  All those stories of vintage Nortons with motor vibration capable of breaking fillings loose from your teeth, those are stories for old timers, anyone trying out the newest 961 series of bikes will be rather impressed by the smoothness, not only the power and torque. To keep the look appropriate for the modern classic class of bikes the EFI is well hidden and it takes more than a cursory glance to even spot the lack of old-school carburetors mixing the fuel and air that will propel your ride! 1971 Norton Commando 750 Hi-Rider6.5K original milesI am the third owner after my fathers passing. He purchased it from a family friend who I am still in contact with.My understanding is that this thing is original with the exception on tires, battery, and oil breather lines.Does start and run but has poor compression.Has tools, owner manual and service manual.I would like to find a good home for this motorcycle. Someone that isn't going to change everything out on it.

Norton Commando 850. Excellent condition rider quality bike. Ridden occasionally - 15k miles. Not a showpiece, but could be parked at any bike meet and it will draw people in. This is a rider that could be left as-is, or easily done a slight rolling restoration. The 850 Commandos are wonderful and long-respected bikes for a real reason. This one has been converted to single carb for easier running/tuning, and appears to be a late 74 with right side shift. Matching numbers engine and frame. Got the bike 6 years ago. I've completely disassembled it and rebuilt it replacing worn out parts and performing upgrades. Serial number suggests it's a combat but po replaced combat head with a 1970 head. This head has been rebuilt w/new guides and valves. Rocker shafts have been cross drilled eliminating crossover line. Cylinders bored, new pistons and Hastings rings 30 mm pwk carburetors provide excellent performance. Aluminum fuel tank, newer petcocks, new fuel lines, vernier isolastics, 520 xring conversion w/didi chain, 21 t main shaft sprocket rear brake shoes replaced. Front brake master resleeved, caliper rebuil w/speed bleeders, 3phase heavy duty alternator w/podtronics r/r, control arm shaft pinned, new grab bar, Avon road riders front good rear will need replacing in next 1000 miles, clutch rebuilt and plates replaced dynodave seal, transmission rebuilt, h4 headlight conversion, bike completely rewired w/fuzeblock, Koso electronic gauges and voltmeter, mikes xs reed valve, amr timing cover mod to eliminate wet sumping, power arc ignition and coils w/two switchable curves, 2 headfins broken but blended in hard to notice, forks rebuilt, wheels rebuiltRuns great, tracks great, starts first or second kick but you have to kick hard as compression is still high. I've got about 2500 miles on it but don't know previous milesSure I'm missing something. Call rick at 502 262 4331

The Commando was produced by the Norton Motorcycle company from 1967 until 1977 and won several awards, including Motor Cycle News "Machine of the Year" award for five successive years from 1968-1972. This classic cafe racer has all original parts except the carbeurator, handlebars and wiring harness (no Lucas - that's a good thing!). It starts on the first kick on most days and has been maintained regularly. I'm happy to provide detail pictures or any further information about the bike. My father and I worked on about every part of this excellent machine, and it is a joy to ride!
