This bike has the COMBAT motor and is in excellent running condition. I purchased the bike from a collector who had a restoration done by Wes Scott Cycles in Florida. Since ownership, I have replaced the complete wiring harness, center stand, rubber, added the rear seat grab bar (all OEM parts), new battery (non OEM) and had it serviced and dyno'd at the local Ducati dealer who indicated 52 rear wheel horsepower (the most from a Norton that they have ever dyno'd). This bike runs strong, starts in the first few kicks, shifts flawlessly, and is a joy to drive. I am just thinning out my collection. 19033 original miles.

Up for sale 1974 Norton with a little over 2,500 original miles. The bike was purchased from the original owner after it won first place for best restored motorcycle at the 2007 Detroit Autorama in its first showing. The first owner bought the bike new in 1976, took it home with 8.5 factory test miles on it and parked it in his collection of 30 bikes untouched. In 2006 he decided to ride it for the first time. He converted it from a high rider to a roadster using aluminum tank and side covers fabricated by the master Evan Wilcox and fitting a Norton Corbin seat. The front brake was updated and Boyer ignition replaced the points. Any perished parts were replaced with OEM Norton parts if possible. MK III isolastics were installed and stainless fasteners were used in critical areas. Within a few months he became ill and passed away never having ridden it. Work receipts available indicating well over $25k in restoration worth have been completed. All service records available. In 2006/7, the bike was registered for the first time in in California for road use.A Norton factory trained mechanic went thru the bike for a second time and made some changes that he recommended. He changed out the counter sprocket for a 19 verse the original 20, put in a Barnett clutch, heim head steady, Fiamm horns, roadster style headlight, new exhaust pipes and mufflers, and a covenant fork upgrade. All the original parts: bronze clutch plates, high rider headlight, turn signals, choke and cables, head steady, air box, horn, cross over pipes, mufflers, and roadster seat have never been and will come with the bike as well as the owners manual, tool kit, a tank bag with tire tube, extra Boyer ready to go and electric air pump. All parts to bring back to factory set up are here. It still has the break in instruction sticker on the speedo. I have included pictures of how it looked when purchased and photos of how it is set up currently. The bike has always been stored inside and has never even had water used to clean it. It has never been in the rain either. I wipe it down and polish it. Show it, ride it, or both. I chose to ride it on a limited basis and the rest of the time I just like to sit and stare at it.All documentation, original bill of sale from 1976 dealer purchase, verification of history, all work orders and parts lists from both top notch mechanics will come with the bike. You will not find a better sorted Norton. This Norton is in pristine condition. On 8/24/2016, the bike received brand new Dunlop matching tires as originally specified in 74; an oil change; and a brand new clutch line cable.

1972 Norton Commando 750 , 1972 Norton Commando $11,500. Upgraded and lightly modified to maintain a mostly original appearance. This machine has won numerous top awards at national rallies. Despite being a show winner, it was really built to ride. Power, handling and suspension compliance rivals many modern bikes. With effective isolastic vibration control, a comfortable seat and mildly set back foot peg location it rides and handles great on back roads and has power to spare on the interstate. The electrical wiring is mostly soldered and sealed with extra grounds. I purchased the bike in 2005 from the restorer and have only ridden a few hundred miles on it (I have several other modern bikes). It has never failed to start and never broken down, and in fact has run perfectly since the day the Amal carbs were swapped out for a single Mikuni carburetor in 2006. The most recent repair was to replace a slightly leaking head gasket at which time cylinder bores looked perfect. There are many stainless steel fasteners and components including rear set foot peg brackets and spokes. It is titled as a 1971 due to Ohio taking its manufacturer plate dating following its restoration, but was surely sold as a 1972 model. Akront aluminum rims Front disc brake with SS brake line Mk III isolastics Norton steering damper Reinforced swing arm Custom modified and sleeved brake master cylinder to fit flat handlebars Hinged and locking seat Koni dampers and progressive fork springs Boyer ignition Engine is stock 10:1 with ported heads Matching serial numbers Odometer mileage just under 6000 miles This is a reliable, collectible, undeniably beautiful one-of-a-kind Norton Commando. Serious buyers only please. No trades or weird payment arrangements. Call 302-545-0848 and leave a message. Bike and I are in Cincinnati, Ohio, my cell phone number is from having lived in Delaware for 40 years. $11,000.00 3025450848
