IGNORE THE EBAY  SHIPPING STUFF. I WILL SEND THIS ANYWHERE .  Here is a great start for a cool bike. Frame and engine are both 1951 although not matching. I bought the frame from Norton guru Jerry Ficklin. Tank mounts are shaved but the rear is there and can be put back.  Frame is otherwise superb although not correct for a 51 Inter as these were housed in the garden gate. The rigid should give better handling . Jerry sent a template for engine plates which is also included. Lay down box  looks good but I have not taken it apart. The engine is superb with the exception it will need a rebore or a sleeve. It is near 100% complete. Good threads and no broken fins.  The  rare RN racing carb is incomplete . The magneto is the desirable BTH TT model and looks superb.  The tank is a genuine pre war racing scalloped or "pie crust" job  and is also in superb shape and no I will not sell it separately ! Other parts  and bikes are available .  I can send this project in pieces via Xpresspost  to anywhere in the continental USA for $800.  I have done it several times and there have been no issues. Check my feedback and bid with confidence . Thanks for looking.   Call me at 613-273-5036 or shoot me an email  with your questions and complaints.  [email protected].  Canadian bidders are subject to HST tax

The best way to buy one of these very special engines is ALL APART so you can see what you are paying for. This engine is a beauty . Have a close look. The main bearings  feel like they are new. The cases are matching  and  the numbers  ALSO match on the cam box and it's cover. The cams are in good shape as are the rockers and followers.  Bevel gears and bearings etc are excellent. Everything turns smoothly including the oil pump still in the timing case. The head looks superb with no broken fins and what look like brand new valves although the guides show wear. The exhaust threads are superb. One chipped fin on the lower end of the barrel. small cracks at the clearance cutouts at the barrel bottom which I have pictured. No big gouges in the cylinder.   I have no piston that fits the bore  and the cylinder may need resleeving if you are going to build a racer.  The rod shows a trace of up and down but the assembly looks totally unmolested and polished , I believe it may be Manx as the rod is huge. I have lots of other rare Norton bikes, parts and other rare makes and models and like to swap.  I am looking for a G50 Matchless engine or parts. I was going to re assemble this engine for a photo but then I thought this is the best way to ship it anyway. I can re assemble it if you want.  Shoot your questions to me I am [email protected]  or 613-273-5036    I can ship this anywhere in the world. Payment by bank transfer.  Thanks for looking

NEW INFO GLEANED FROM NOTED HISTORIAN HARRY SUCHER'S BOOK "INSIDE AMERICAN MOTORCYCLING"  It would appear that Elwood actually was the winner of the very first 200 mile race at Jacksonville  WITH THIS BIKE  !!ELWOOD WAS CHEATED OUT OF A WIN HERE JUST AS OTHER BRITISH MOUNTED  ( BILLY MATHEWS) CANADIAN RIDERS WOULD BE IN THE YEARS TO COME.  READ THE EXCERPT.ALL THE SHOWN PHOTOS OF  JACKSONVILLE AND SAVANNAH PITS ETC. ARE INCLUDED WITH THE SALE.  OTHER EXTRAS INCLUDE ELWOOD'S STEEL SHOE, A RUBBER RACING SADDLE, A NORTON SPECIAL GEARBOX SPANNER ETC. It would probably take a book to describe the history of this bike but it's greatest glory was in the hands of the famous Canadian racer Elwood Stilwell. Just one example of Elwood's and the bike's prowess can be taken from the National professional dirt track races at Langhorne Pa. in 1935. Elwood lapped this notoriously dangerous and tough course at over 83 miles per hour! This on a four year old bike pitted against the factory racers from Indian etc.  He finished 6th.  The gas tank is home made by Elwood and many other parts have been changed down through the years as the bike was raced into the 1960's. This bike has patina. The chain of ownership was documented by my friend Bob McCoy who I purchased the bike from about 20 years ago.Bob bought it from either Elwood directly as he was a good friend or his estate.  The photos show Elwood at the Savannah and Jacksonville races as well as on the beach before the start of the very first Daytona race  in 1937. Elwood along with a few other prominent Canadian racers raced speedway in England for a stint. ( obviously not on this bike!) I have partially dismantalled this engine to show it's condition which is excellent. Looks like a fresh rebore and no vertical rod play. Downdraught head with excellent condition correct racing bronze bodied Amal. The pillion in the main picture is not included but the ratty one with patina is!  I have been to the VMCC headquarters library in Burton UK and sadly the page with this bike has been partially torn away however it does state clearly that this bike was designated a "TT Replica" model with close ratio gearbox, racing magneto and racing carb all, of which are present. The original triple stay frame ( similar to Brough Superior and some AJS ) is there but it was changed  to the same type  form an early 30's Norton sold by Brown's Norton Toronto. Although the numbers do not match they are all authentic undoctored and period correct. Take a close look as bikes like this don't come along every day. Canadian buyers are subject to sales tax.  Shipping this to the USA or anywhere else is not a problem. I have crated and shipped many bikes.  give me a call or send an email for more photos or info   Thanks for looking   Barry 613-273-5036   [email protected] FOR SHIPPING CONTACT THESE FOLKS North American shipments: Adam or Jacqui TFX International Specialized Vehicle Transport 11 City View Drive Etobicoke. vintagemunro Store I'm listing this machine for a long-time customer and good friend... This gorgeous Norton / AJS Special is the creative vision and detailed mechanical masterwork of multi-championship winning roadracer and master-builder Ron Peter. A build that took several years, started with a Norton featherbed frame and an AJS 18CS engine with 1 3/8” Amal GP carburetor. The machine features a wealth of handmade custom pieces on this bike that blend so well into the fit, finish and overall character of this build. Top-shelf components include: Roadholder forks, handsome Manx replica alloy fuel tank, fairing and seat, custom instrument panel with Smith racing tach, custom toothed belt drive from crankshaft to generator. Note the nice integration of the powerful Suzuki GT750 4LS front drum brake. Although this is a fine running, well-sorted piece, the bike has very few miles on it and looks as perfect as the day Ron finished it. The special has been correctly prepped for storage in the owner’s climate-controlled showroom. This AJS Norton Special was featured in Cycle Canada’s June 2001 edition. Ron has had other builds featured such as his Triumph Bonneville in the Cycle Canada July 1997 edition. Ron's exceptional workmanship is clearly evident in the hi-resolution images on my Flickr Album. To view the full-sized images on Flickr, click on the icon on the lower right of any image page and you'll be able to download or view all sizes. 1977 DUCATI 500 SS CUSTOM Countless hours and an extensive list of parts were employed in the building of this special classic This bike was built to ride although it gets a great crowd response where ever it goes. It started life out as a running Ducati 500GTL. This bike was stripped down to bare frame sandblasted and painted a beautiful Metallic gold. Wanting to give is a slightly different look I used a Legendary Motorcycle Custom Gas tank. Its a replica of a Norton Manx. Wanting to keep the Ducati vibe I found a replica Ducati 900SS Seat to finish off the look. Here is what I did to the bikeI cut the original hoop off the back of the bike & bent and welded a new hoop, Built custom rear sets I rebuilt the forksI rebuilt the brake calipers Rebuilt the master Replaced all the bearings in the neck and wheels. I replaced both front and rear wheels with new steel spokesI did some rewiring, replacing any wires that weren't perfect. I spend 150 hour total polishing the engine covers, sanding the triple trees smooth and polished them, polished the forks, polished the rear hub.I installed new Avon tiresNew batteryNew NOS LED dashNew throttle and choke cablesNew rear shocksInstalled an original set of Conti mufflers although not new are in nice rider condition(few dents but sound awesome) These are pretty expensive I was offered $1000 for just the mufflersThe bike was finished in black with gold leaf and red pin striping. Electric and kick start work bike will start with one or two kicks or the push of a button. New Front brake pads and rear brakes have been reshoed Frame was sandblasted and painted Metallic goldNew Ducati 900SS replica seat with upholsteryNew Legendary motorcycles Gas TankNew Chrome HeadlightHeadlight Screen Engine work completedAs far as the engine here a list of what I did I removed the bolt that is just in front of the left cylinder, as you sit on the bike. This is the restrictor for the oil feed to the cylinder head and makes sure that the oil pressure is backed up to the crank. I took off the alternator cover. Below the alternator you will find the oil pressure relief valve, this takes the form of a steel tube with a ball and spring up it I took it out cleaned it up and then put back with loctite and then wire lock it. I checked that your oil pressure warning light was properly working. The Cam chain do stretch and flap, because the tensioner is not very good. I pulled the rocker cover off and checked the tension. I checked the depth of the recesses to take the O rings that seal the main oil galleries between the two crankcase halves. If they are not recessed it will cause weepage out through the gasket. I took the bungs out of the crank for the big end sludge traps these traps were full of muck and would have starved the big end shells of oil flow. On the camshafts, which are in two parts, Ducati saw fit to block off the hole for the oil feed to the cam lobes with a dished washer like a water jacket core plug. These were never designed to take the pressure of cold 20/50 oil on them and can blow out, leaving you with no oil feed to the top end! The solution was to put the cam in a lathe and bore the end to take an aluminum bung and fit that bung with loctite and face off, so that they press together and can't go anywhere. I also checked the end float on the crankshaft for slop. This is adjusted by placing shims behind the LH main bearing, This stops sideways movement of the crank across the face of the main bearings and will reduce wear. This bike is mechanically sound. The engine runs great the Charging system is working perfectly Its ready to ride This Ducati was built to be ridden and enjoyed ...however it is attractive enough to be displayed as a welcome addition to any collection **This Ducati is being sold because my wife and I are expecting our second child. It's time for me to make some room so please only bid or inquire if you are a serious interested buyer and have the the funds available to complete the sale within 7 days.** (This includes brokers or other qualified representatives so please confirm with your customer before bidding) International bidders using a bank to bank wire transfer for deposit or the balance or cash are welcome. Scammers consider yourself warned. This motorcycle will not be shipped until all funds have cleared and the purchaser's information is verified. a $1000.00 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of end of the auction and all sales are final. Bank to bank wire transfer of balance is possible after $1000.00 non refundable deposit is received. This bike could not be built for my buy it now price. Any question please contact me via email or phone The Ducati is available for inspection by appointment and before the end of the auction at my business location please call to set up an appointment Rick 704-253-3630 (located in Mooresville NC) Shipping is the complete and total responsibility of the Buyer . I can assist with meeting your shipper for loading purposes and drain the gas if required. Seller reserves the right to end the auction early. Seller reserves the right to sell or advertise this motorcycle locally. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a restored, titled and running classic Ducati Bevel please bid if you have read and understand the listing, have the funds available, the permission and ability to complete this purchase without complication or delay. Thank you for your interest and or your bid. Good luck and bid to win. I will accept offers through ebay I will also accept offers without the Conti mufflers. I will replace them with a original set of Lafranconi mufflers(which are very nice) Obviously the price would be less without the Contis Please be realistic with your offers Ducati 500 not a desmo
