A 1974 Ducati 750 Sport in excellent condition from the famed bevel drive era. It will be the pride of any respectable collection! This 750 Sport was in a private collection in Tuscany, Italy for the last 20 years and is now for sale in SoCal. This 750 Sport has a wide frame which is quite unusual but not unheard of. In his book the Ducati bible, Ian Falloon mentions that a few 750 Sportwere built on wide frames at the Ducati factory. Ducati 's record keeping as well as consistency in production were rather questionable back then. Based on the frame number, this 750 Sport is one of the last ones produced and one can see how the factory simply used whichever parts were available to build this motorcycle. The current curator of the Ducati museum Livio Lodi acknowledged this and that he does not see a 750 Sport built on a wide frame as a problem. This Ducati 750 Sport was certified by the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano), the Italian Historical Auto & Motorcycle Club, as being correct and authentic. We also have the original, first registration for this Ducati and it was originally registered as a 750 Sport in August of 1974. This Ducati Sport 750 runs wonderfully. Restored about 15 years ago, it still looks absolutely pristine with brilliant paint. The carburetors were just rebuilt and a new battery was installed, as the had been sitting for a few years. This exceptional 1974 Ducati Sport is offered for $42,500. It will be sold with Italian papers and a Bill of Sale.

The bike has a new very professional "stock" burgundy and black paint job, new metal tank badges and new side cover badges. The striping is all done by hand and is the correct off white toward ivory, per original. All the dimensions for paint locations are as per a noted expert, bevel barbarian and well known belt buckle maker. This motorcycle has ll the upgrades you want on a rider, better alternator, regulator and fuse block, better suspension and better ignition system. If you are looking for a really good one of these, here it is. I got a question about this so let me make it clear. ALL of the late 750s had soft valve guides that wore out and caused smoke at relatively modest mileage. The smoke is from the prematurely worn guides because they are SOFT. If you buy a similar vintage Ducati that hasn't had the guides changed, you WILL have to pull the heads and change them. The guides on this one have been replaced with modern guides, the rings are not yet broken in as it has only about 20 miles on it since the top end overhaul. It is a 1974 3rd production series version, titled as a 1975 and has 23,197 miles on it. For more information please contact me by e-mail

Offered for auction is my 1974 Ducati 750 GT twin. In the last few years interest in the bevel drive roundcase Ducatis has exploded. The 750SS is now priced where Broughs were a few years ago, and the 750 Sports are selling in Vincent Rapide territory. The GTs have experienced a surge in interest as well, but for the moment they remain the last affordable Ducati twins of that period. Many say that they are the most enjoyable on the road too, given their less radical riding position. This is a matching number 750 GT, built in February of 1974. It comes with a clear matching number title, ready to transfer into your name. It was last running & riding in the summer of 2013, when it was parked to sort out some electrical problems. At some point someone swapped out the handlebar switch for a later unit, and also installed aftermarket coils and a mickey mouse fuse setup under the seat. The new fuses were removed, and currently the harness is not connected to anything under the seat (it ends inside the Aprilia fuse box, but it is not connected). This bike would be an easy Winter project to clean up and get back on the road. It was repainted several years ago to a non stock color, but it was done very professionally. Other than the replaced rear shocks and the removed turn signals/air filters (which every new owner seemed to do back then), the bike seems to be about 95+% stock. The case halves are matching number, and it still has the factory headers and Conti mufflers. The front and rear rims are the original Borrani aluminum parts. Even the factory toolkit is under the seat. Machines in this condition are getting pretty difficult to find after 40 years. Only about 1,400 of these bikes were imported to the USA, and a good many of those did not survive their first few owners. A lot of the early GTs were also converted to "Sport spec", to where there are probably more early wideframe Sports "surviving" than were ever made! So if you are thinking about an early Ducati Twin to add to your collection, this is a good time to act. Please ask all questions before bidding or buying. Payment expected within one week of auction end, and the bike must be picked up/shipped within one month of auction end. Overseas sales are no problem, but I cannot help with shipping quotes. Personal checks are OK, but this will delay shipment. Sorry but the bike does not move before the payment arrives, no exceptions. I don't end auctions early, so please don't ask. Good luck bidding!

I purchased this bike back in 2013 from Ian Falloon & imported it from Australia, since it was delivered is has sat on display in my office. The fluids have been changed and engine turned over regularly. This bike is as perfect as they come. I have not seen any GT that comes close. I recently brought the bike to a Ducati specialist in San Francisco, he started up the bike and is now in process of some final adjustments. I can provide a video of the bike running upon request. Below is Ian's original description of his GT. Cheers Ducati 750 GT Ebay As I have too many 750 GTs in my collection I am reluctantly offering this superb Euro-spec 1973 750 GT for sale. This is as perfect and original 1973 750 GT you will find, and every aspect of the restoration is covered in my new forthcoming book; Ducati Bevel Twins 1971 to 1986 - Enthusiasts Restoration Manual http://www.veloce.co.uk/shop/products/productDetail.php?prod_id=V4318&prod_group=Motorcycles%20&%20Scooters& With engine number 752696 and frame number 752124 this was originally Australian delivered (to Ron Angel Holdings) in April 1973. The low frame number means that many earlier features are present, such as a Lockheed front brake and split front hub. This is also a rare model with a Veglia electronic tachometer and retains the earlier Amal carbs. This model of 750 GT is undeniably one of the more desirable, with all the preferable earlier handlebar controls, Borrani rims, Inox stainless fenders and leading axle Marzocchi fork. Everything is new or reconditioned on this machine. New parts include; New factory con-rod assembly (assembled by Bob Brown) New 80.6mm (second oversize) Borgo pistons All new bearings throughout New valves, rockers, and rocker bushes New badges and paint matched to NOS side cover NOS air filter boxes and hoses NOS Aprilia turn signals and switches NOS Aprilia fuse box NOS CEV horn NOS Lockheed front brake line NOS Ducati Electronica condensers and points NOS KLG spark plug caps Complete set of Bevel Rubber parts for the 750 GT (including dash and dash lights) All new cables New period Dunlop TT100 Tires and tubes NOS Euro-spec handlebar New CEV taillight and bracket New Brev Orlandi fuel taps New Conti silencers NOS 16/36 tooth sprockets and RK chain NOS ignition switch All new cables Reconditioned parts include; Original 3-ball Marzocchi shocks rebuilt by Damien at Bevel Rubber Seat by Tony O’Connor of Eldorado Instruments by Andrew Rackstraw in New Zealand Original Borrani wheels with stainless spokes by Phil de Gruchy of Lightfoot Engineering Original rare Lockheed master cylinder and caliper reconditioned Wiring by Peter Shearman of Dukelectrics All original bolts and fasteners with new zinc plating. Original Aprilia headlamp Original Tomaselli throttle and controls Re-chromed exhaust header pipes plus other miscellaneous chrome plating by Precision Plating Reconditioned original filler cap Entered in the 2012 Motorclassic Concours d’Elegance (Australia’s equivalent to Pebble Beach) this bike won the best post-war motorcycle category in a hotly contested field. The beautiful trophy comes with the bike if you want it. The only non-original features are; NOS Inox front fender with a center brace, replacing the original fender that had two screw holes for a front license plate as required in Australia in 1973. New German ignition coils instead of the original Ducati Electrotecnica. This bike has been on display and not run since the restoration. The tank has no fuel and there is no battery. If you want to run this bike bear in mind that commissioning it will require a bit of fiddling with carburetors etc. It is as if you were buying a bike back in 1973 from the crate. It needs setting up. This bike can be shipped anywhere at the buyer’s expense and I can arrange shipping worldwide. Payment by bank deposit is preferred. Paypal will incur additional fees. If you are looking for an as new 750 GT close to the condition it left the factory in Borgo Panigale in 1973 this is it. As the restoration of this GT is featured in detail in the forthcoming book. Of course this is a forty year old motorcycle and comes with no warranty but it is a bike will real provenance.

We built 2 early 60's Ducati Dirt Bikes at our shop Fuller Moto in Atlanta, GA over the last 3 years off and on. One of which "Super Duc" is for sale. I'm keeping the twin sister for my personal bike. I've ridden my version often, on and off road. Its turned out to be a fun, and reliable ride both on and off road. Its particularly adept at getting around the woods due to its FOX Shox rear suspension. Its been jumped 4 ft. in the air with no problems...drops down like a cushion! Amazing bike, you won't be sorry! Here's the story I wrote about the Duc's for Bike Exif ...go check it out: (Google Bike Exif Fuller Dirty Duc...Ebay won't let me add the hyperlink for some reason) The concept for the Dirty Duc came to me when I began looking for a dirt bike to ride on trails and get in and around Atlanta. Of course I could have bought a cheap, new or vintage bike, but at the time there really weren’t many custom dirt bikes out there. Besides, not building it myself just seemed like cheating, so instead I got to work on the idea. I found a lot of Choppers and Bobbers with dirt tires that were being built, but since I live in downtown Atlanta, I needed a more practical option that could do well both on pavement and dirt. I knew what I wanted, I just needed to find it. I got my lucky break a few years back while scouring the swap isles at the Barber Vintage Festival. There it was - a Ducati Scrambler. I couldn’t believe it! From the front it looked like a cheap Yamaha. It was worn out. The pipes were basically the same as we created out of Cone Engineering Stainless but not even close to salvageable. The bike had these fenders on it already, but controls were bent up and tires were gone. It had an aluminum tank but totally beat up. This was the bike I had dreamt of in my head! It just happened to be totally destroyed. My immediate goal was to take this cute little Scrambler and stuff a hot Desmo motor inside it. It sounded like a good plan to me, so I called the number listed on the sticker and waited for the owner to meet me at the bike. He said it ran, which was total BS since this was no fuel lines or wires attached that I could see anywhere. I didn’t care though. This bike was going to be mine. To add to my luck, I also happened to have $1200 cash in my pocket from selling t-shirts that day, so I struck the deal. If you are going to ride trails, I believe that it’s more fun to go in pairs. So I decided to build not just one, but two Dirty Ducs. Good thing I know Rich Lambrechts at DesmoPro! Rich is one of the premier Bevel Drive Ducati builders with lots of experience and spare parts. Rich is a true master of his craft. Together over the Christmas Holiday, we decided to tackle both 250cc single cylinder builds (and my round case 750 twin). Luckily his wife Vicki Smith loves Ducatis too so she was okay with us spending six days of intensive work. Old Ducatis are like watches - when set up right they tick at a perfect time. Firstly, they have roller bearing cranks that need to be shimmed perfectly between the split cases. Then you install the timing chest and transmission gears that also get shimmed to tolerances usually near zero. Next the piston slides into the cylinder and a dry run is done on the head and bevel gears to make sure they mesh perfectly. Each time, this process is done with shims Rich has collected over the years, even gasket squish is taken into consideration. My role of course was general excitement and help with polishing, ARP fastener replacement duties, coffee infusion, food procurement, and alarm clock. After six days, all of the motors performed flawlessly! I happily headed home to Atlanta. I arrived four days later than I promised my wife, and I missed New Years. Whoops! Luckily she forgave me. But no matter how much heat I got, it was totally worth it. I was going to have my dream dirt bike. Too bad it was going to have to wait behind a lot of customer projects. A year goes by and finally we get to building the early 60’s Scramblers that I had in my vision. First, we lengthened the swing arm a couple of inches. This allowed us to fit the custom valved Fox Shox and get maximum travel; there’s about 8” of rear travel. The twin shocks work perfect. I looked at modern bikes and we custom made chain guides in case you hit something while trail riding. There is also a little chain runner on the frame under the swing arm pivot that keeps slack to a minimum. The whole vision was modern stance and suspension travel with real vintage Italian parts that would have set an extremely high standard back in the day. Front forks are magnesium with Ceriani Triple trees, Tomaselli hand controls,Borrani Rims, and Superpractic throttle. Thank you Rich! The Dirty Ducs still need a snorkel and removable rear mud guard for real muddy riding days. We did a shop day at DurhamTown Park to have some fun. The bike jumped perfect, ran great, but got soaked with mud and water. My entire back was covered and the intake was getting water in all the time. Soon, we’ll finish these up with powder coat, paint, and stripes when time allows. One of the Ducs is for sale and the other is going to remain my personal rider. Sometimes what we WANT in Life doesn’t quite sync up (bevel pun) with what we NEED in Life. As a result, I am forced to sell one of my “babies.” A beautifully restored 1978 Ducati Darmah. This bike was sold to me (Milwaukee, WI) from a Ferrari restoration shop in California. The original Owner's Manual has a sticker on it from "Sonny Angel Motorcycles, National City, CA." She has never seen bad weather (as far as I know), and she has always been garaged since I bought her in 2006. If you’re looking at this Ad, there is a very good chance you know about Ducati Bevels. About their cool factor, rarity, and exceptional GROWL! As a result of their rarity, very few people are around today who can completely strip-down and then rebuild one of these engines. Powder-coating and re-chroming are one thing, but blueprinting and rebuilding a bevel engine to maximize its potential is truly a thing of Mechanical Beauty! These old Bevel engines are what can be considered “High Maintenance” machines, and after about 40 years of aging, nearly all of them deserve a complete rebuild. Lucky for you, this bike has already had it done!! And by one of the few men who can do it perfectly!! This bike’s engine was completely stripped down and restored to better-than-factory specs. She has over-sized pistons and now puts down more torque and horsepower than even when she was born in '78. Even if you had a time machine and went back to 1978 to purchase this bike new, it would run better today than it did back then. An example of the care put into this engine rebuild is that the over-sized pistons were fit by hand, using clay, and then shaped to run optimally in THIS engine. Allowing for optimal compression while still clearing the complicated internals of the bevel heads. Nothing was simply purchased and then dropped in; ALL fitment was done by hand, perfectly, to at least ‘Factory Spec,' and in most cases, to 'BETTER-THAN-FACTORY-SPEC!’ 200-hours Labor were spent meticulously rebuilding this bike’s engine with the love and care it deserves! Here is an ‘Almost-Complete List’ of the work done to get this engine to better-than-stock specs! Sonic Clean Engine / Carbs / TransRebuild Carbs (R.152m, 60 Pilot)Rebuild & Balance Crankshaft (DRD) Complete rebuild of both Heads (Bevels timed and checked for fitment; new valve sleeves; valve work; rocker tolerances checked; etc) Machine clearance on closing rockersShimmed Lower Case (with Kickstarter AND Electric Start!) Starter Motor in amazing condition! Shim and tune TransmissionRebuild Clutch / fit to flywheelAdjust timing pickupsAssembled Counter Shaft rods Bore / blast Cylinder for over-sized pistons (DRD)Clay / Shape / Blast / Assemble pistons; Set ring gapNew Cam Support BearingSS Cams!!New gaskets & seal kitSS ControlsNew oil filterNew TiresMaster Cylinder RebuildComplete Brake RebuildNew ChainNew rear Sprocket bushingNew BatteryRust cleaned from gas tankEnd Bar Mirror Front Fork rebuild + New SealsClean and lube speedoOhlins rear shocksCarbs tuned and set to run optimallyNew rear brake switchRewire; all lights workNew ignitionNew fuel lines and petcocks I invested over $5,000 to have all this engine work done. As a result, the engine now runs the best that it ever has / will! I have only put ~500 miles on her since the complete rebuild. The first 500 miles I did not exceed 4,000 RPM, in order to properly break in the engine / pistons / rockers. Now that the first 500 miles are done, it is safe to rev her to 6,500 RPMS (almost redline). Another 500 miles and it will be safe to rev her to Redline! (Although, please be smart about it!) The 500 mile “Factory Recommended Service” was done by the same man who rebuilt her. This man is one of the best Ducati Bevel guys in the USA. He recently sold a GORGEOUS, flawlessly restored 1973 Ducati 750 Sport for about $40,000. I have a copy of the article in Motorcycle Classics Magazine that wrote about him, and which highlights that bike. (I included a sample pic of that article here, as well) I only mention this to illustrate the quality of his work. Just so you understand my mindset, it was never my goal to have this bike LOOK perfect; rather, it was my goal to have her RUN perfect. That's why I had the engine rebuilt to OCD-levels; because I planned on keeping her around for as long as I could still ride. Of course I planned to someday have the paint / decals / chrome redone; but all in due time (i.e. only after I got a chance to enjoy riding her for awhile!). But as already mentioned, sometimes Life forces us to make tough choices, so unfortunately I must sell her before the cosmetic stuff is done. With that said, if you purchase the bike and want to have it COSMETICALLY rebuilt, I can put you in touch with the man who rebuilt both the 1973 750 and my Darmah; as well as his buddy, who painted the 750 that sold for $40k. So, if you want to have the cosmetic work done, I can make it happen; or at least set you up with the contact info of the men who will do the work. Again, this bike is mechanically flawless. She immediately fires up every time you push “GO,” pulls like crazy from Idle all the way up to 6,500 RPM (again, haven’t pushed Redline yet), and is one of the best handling and most comfortable bikes I’ve ever driven! She is sure to put a HUGE smile on your face and turn heads everywhere you go! She will definitely be missed, but at least I get solace in the fact that as long as there are bevel-heads, she will always be cared for... and never rust away into despair! The buyer of this bike will also receive my copies of her Owners Manual, Workshop Manual, Spare Parts Catalogue, and Haynes Ducati Vintage V-Twin Shop Manual. Also, a few extra random parts, as well as a pair of hard-to-find Tomaselli Condor handlebars. This is truly a rare find, and one of the best running bevels you’ll ever see for sale! Period! I will try to get more close-up photos of the engine - as well as a video of start-up and her running - by tomorrow afternoon. The title is clear and she is ready to ride or be shipped to wherever you may be.
