Tons of torque and I've been told multiple times by friends that this was the fastest XS they've ridden. All mechanical work was professionally done by Rob Ghislain of Dinosaur Four, a specialist in vintage Japanese motorcycles. Idols strong, shifts smooth, a true blast to ride. 1973 Yamaha Tx750 , This bike is in good condition for its age. I bought it two years ago and I've completely gone through it, but I'm afraid I've moved across the country now and I couldn't take it with me. Aside from aftermarket pod air filters, the bike is entirely stock and all original. The chrome looks great on the road, but has some flaws. At some point it looks like a previous dropped it on the right side at low speed. The right exhaust pipe has two dents you can see in the picture and there is a small dent in the tank. It started out as orange flake in '73 but was painted black at some point in its past. I've thoroughly cleaned and synced the carbs, set the timing, cleaned the tank, put on new throttle cables. You get two used carbs with the bike. The only thing it would need for inspection is a new rear tire and a new battery (has kick start though). With that, I'd ride it across the country. It starts on the first kick every time. This is a really cool old bike with a lot of history, and it's legitimately rare, not like the hundreds of cb750s out there. Two cylinder 750s are a crazy feeling, and this is an incredibly smooth bike. Feel free to contact me with any questions or offers. 1974 Yamaha TX750A, This is a fantastic Yamaha motorcycle which is in outstanding condition. Receiving both mechanical and cosmetic rejuvenation, this is truly a piece of history one can find pride and joy in immediately. In the first year of production (1973) this model had overheating issues which produced a stigma against the TX series. In 1974 Yamaha produced a very limited number of oil coolers to remedy the issue. This part is very rare and is necesary to ensure the cycle is reliable for road use. This particular bike has had one of these oil coolers since day one and as such is not prone to any of these issues. Because the model reputation had been damaged, this model became a quirk of history being pulled from production in mid 1974 despite being an otherwise fantastic design - it's a 750 parallel twin! Featured on this bike are the original Burgundy Wine Flake tank and matching side covers which are lustrous and glossy. The original model/branding emblems are also present and look superb. The seat is also the Yamaha-branded original, without any rips or tears. The original chrome fenders, spoked rims, and engine covers have been polished to a shine and are quite eye-catching. The carburetors have been meticulously rebuilt with all new gaskets and seals, correctly adjusted floats, synchronization set, and mixtures tuned to match. All of the electrical components including the lights, horn, and electric starter are original to this cycle and function excellently after having each of their terminal connections cleaned. The engine has received a valve adjustment and a timing adjustment. It should go without saying that this cycle received new spark plugs, new battery, an oil change, new ignition-points & condenser, a brake adjustment & fluid change, lubricated control cables, and brand new tires & tubes. The results are a cycle which runs, rides, and shifts very smoothly through all of the gears - it doesn't smoke from the exhaust or leak any fluids. Eveyrthing is functioning nicely. I have 2 TX750's One has new tires (Rear is bigger than stock), clip ons, aftermarket brake master cyl and pod filters. Previous owner said this bike ran but he had trouble with the carbs. The other bike has the engine pulled and looks stock. I also have a lot of parts which might be close to making the first bike stock also if you want to go that route. Also included is a luggage rack. There is also a spare engine missing some parts. All said , it is basically 2 bikes plus a spare engine. I have never heard these run. I don't know about the spare engine but the other 2 will kick over. THERE ARE NO TITLES. I will sell either bike or the spare engine separately. Buy it now is for the whole lot. Yamaha TX 750cc Twin Street Series 2 year production only. This motorbike has been in a private collection for the last 30 years. It was housed in a temperature controlled environment with several other motorbikes. When it was stored the gas was removed from the tank and carburetors. Oil also was put in each cylinder and turned over every few months and the motor turns over good. Current odometer reads a little over 11,000 miles. It is not in running condition and will need a battery and will need service. The Yamaha bike is in its original condition showing some wear for a bike that over is over 40 years old. 1973 Yamaha TX750 in excellent (not perfect) shape. It's rare to find a bike this old in such nice condition. Air cooled, four stroke, parallel twin cylinders, 763 cc, 1 down/4 up, disc brakes in the front and a drum in the back. 6300 miles. Original paint, runs great, includes vintage era Windjammer III fairing and windshield. I bought this from it's second owner who owned it since 1976. The original headlamp is still mounted to the bike beneath the fairing, and is in pristine condition. Seat, tank, exhaust, carbs, and most of everything else is original. The paint is in VG+ condition with only a few minor blemishes. It really is a looker. I made a few minor modifications to the bike to make it more maintainable: 1) Back in the day, Yamaha issued a recall on this bike because of an oil frothing issue. The factory correction was the addition of a 2" oil pan extension. I found one of these on eBay and mounted it to the bike. (See photo). This piece alone was $200. 2) I modified the oil filter system. The original oil filters are no longer available. But, I found a design on line which I follow. This bike now uses off-the-shelf BMW R65/R80 filters available online or in any bike store. However, I will sell the bike with all the original oil filter hardware in case you want to return to the original design. 3) Likewise, the original air filters are not available. So, I took off the air box and replaced it with a pair of K&N Oval Tapered filters that K&N recommended. They work great. And again, the original air box comes with the bike so you can change it back if you'd like. I also coated the inside of the tank with KBS brand Motorcycle Tank Sealer. This stuff did an excellent job. I also put on new OEM petcocks. (This bike has a ton of parts in common with the Yamaha XS650 - a very popular bike in the 70's and there's still a ton of aftermarket and OEM parts available.) Original Yamaha luggage rack and sissy bar/back rest. Small rip in the vinyl of the back rest. Some interesting features for a bike its age: Trip odometer, Cruise control, brake pad wear indicator and rear light outage indicator. Highway bars are not original, but were added to the bike in the 70's. Also comes with JVC Bluetooth In-Dash Digital Media Receiver with Dual USB Ports and Remote Control installed into the dash of the fairing - stereo gets 4 ½ out of 5 stars on Amazon. You can actually charge your phone off the stereo's USB port, and connect via bluetooth to your smart phone or mp3 player; Awesome sounding 3" Vetter speakers. Lot of extra parts go with bike, both new and vintage ... New: Oil filter, several oil pan gaskets, front brake pads, a few extra spark plugs. Vintage (from previous owner): Original foot pegs, extra rear sprocket, points, extra original filters, and a few other things. Also included: Original Owner's manual and Maintenance Manual. The only thing I know that's wrong with it is the battery seems to be losing it's ability to hold a charge. If I let it sit for more than a week or so, I've got to charge it so it turns over enough to start it. It does kick start fine though. Rear luggage does not come with the bike.
