This bike needs no introduction, but for those who don't know this is the King of Baja. Honda took the foundation of the legendary XR platform and modernized with performance in mind. It walks the line between dual sport and dirt bike better than anything out there, and you can use either to their fullest potential. What makes this listing special is that it is a 100% turn key Baja/Adventure/Dirt rig. I have spent hundreds of hours building, testing and tuning this bike to perfection. This isn't a bubba bike that get thrown in the back of a truck and put away wet, only to have oil changed when it's dry or bolts that are stripped and seized. This is a performance machine that I put my life in the hands of regularly and therefor no shortcut, or expenses has been spared along the way. That means every nut and bolt has the fullest confidence of proper torque specs, anti-sieze, or loctite, fresh fluids and methodical approach to all maintenance and performance. There have been no shortcuts and only the best specialists have had a hand in any work or tuning. - - - - - - - - Suspension• Redone entirely and tuned by George at ESP, I trust no one else. That means this bike glides through the canyons as beautifully as it does the whoops and deep sand. Responsive and compliant, makes the machine feel like million bucks and inspires confidence throughout. Suspension is fully adjustable front and rear.• Brand new fork gators in perfect condition, no rips or tears. Brakes • EBC pads with good life on them, fresh DOT4, and steel braided lines up front. Fluids• Oil is changed on the dot or sooner with Honda HP4 Semi-Synthetic racing oil. Fresh oil and filters as it sits. Magnetic drain plugs for frame and engine. • Coolant has been flushed (3 months ago) and filled with Engine Ice. There are no leaks whatsoever, the bike it tight as a drum and operating at full capacity.• 24lb radiator cap ensures the bike stays cool under the harshest of conditions. Chassis• GRP stabilizer / aluminum triple clamp / 2" risers. Big ticket item that is a must have in my opinion. As you'll see throughout, no expense spared. She always starts on first, sometimes second kick cold. That means the valves are perfectly adjusted, pistons have full compression, and carb is jetted correctly and well tuned with good lubrication. I'll miss this bike very much, but my riding has moved more technical single track and it isn't getting ridden as much as is should lately. Never abused, never raced, and has never seen the "dunes". In-fact, this bike has never fallen or been laid down while I was it's owner. Brand new tires, oil just changed 2 riding hours ago. The reason I'm selling is because I'm making a transition from "wide open, ridiculous speed, desert/ trail riding", to tighter single track riding. Please read the entire ad if you are interested. I wrote it with the intent that there are no surprises for you. Other than the previous owner of this bike wanting to buy it back for less than I'm looking for, all I get are tire kickers, so if you are serious about buying it, make me an offer! This has valid CA registration (with numbers matching) and is a highly reliable bike that's uncorked and jetted for about 65 degrees and up with numerous upgrades. I'm just selling it because I'm sticking to dirt riding from now on. I do not know the total mileage because I bought it with no odometer on it, but the previous owner, who I've kept in touch with, said he put about 2,000 miles on it, and I'd say I've put 4,000-5,000 on it over about 27 months of owning it. There are fresh seals and oil in the fork and shock as of maybe 1,000 street miles ago. I've ran Amsoil in the engine and suspension, and Evans waterless coolant, which keeps the engine a solid 10 degrees cooler on average (the Trail Tech Vapor shows coolant temp). I've been running Amsoil Quickshot in the gas as a stabilizer, which also defends against the detriments of ethanol-infused gas. I still have the older set of black plastics that were on it, as well as a few different front fenders, so if you want any or all of those for a dirt plastic setup, I'll include them cheaply. I also have the CRF-X headlight shroud that will work with the Baja Designs Squadron LED light. The subframe has been straightened by Pro Prept in Escondido, CA. Rudy, the owner, said it should be fine, but if it takes any hard crashes, it may need to be replaced (a used subframe is about $160). It is straight as is and feels plenty solid.Yes, this has some miles on it, and it is not spotless, but it starts in about three kicks when it's 60 degrees or above, and on one or two kicks when warm, idles smoothly and pulls hard. My former 2,000-mile-old '08 KTM 450 EXC burned far more oil than this (hence the return to Honda), and this is surprisingly quick, in case you haven't ridden or seen a properly set up 650R before. The previous owner said it'd outrun his friend's 600 crotch rocket through tighter mountain roads. I didn't realize how quick it is until I rode in the desert with friends who were on a CR500 and YZ250. I rode in the dunes once with a couple YFZ450 quads, and this ate them in a heartbeat. Shipping details - I will deliver the bike any day as long as we can reach terms we're both happy with, such as the cost of gas plus compensation for each hour and/or day of my time (time is money, right?). If I deliver it, I will also give you the extra fluids I've got for it for free, which probably total around $75. 2007 Honda XR650L with 21,300+ miles that was used daily for highway commute of 80 miles roundtrip. Gets 50+ mpg and is a blast to ride. Many upgrades installed: - Acerbis 5.8gal gas tank - MX style front & rear fenders - LED taillight - Driving lights - RSW Racing fork brace - Uni foam air filter - Pro Circuit T-4 muffler - Hand warmers - Air pump and canister removed Recently replaced items: - Battery (20,200) - Cam chain (15,000) - Rear tire (15,000) - Chain (10,000) - Sprockets (10,000) Bike is in excellent shape and runs great. Only bad thing on the bike is a cracked left side cover from the bike falling over (see pic). Cover was patched with JB Weld and has not leaked since. Email with any questions. Sold As is/Where is.
