The Scrambler takes its inspiration from these very bikes. They were highly competitive and most famously were used by Hollywood superstar Steve McQueen for pleasure and in full competition. We built the Scrambler to evoke that spirit of freedom and escape, carefree times when all you needed was a bike and somewhere to ride. Design Just as desert racers and enduro riders in the 1960s took Triumph twins and personalised them for off-road fun and competition, we started out with the standard Bonneville and modified it to achieve the classic Scrambler look. As well as studying closely the original Triumph TR6C Trophy Special from the late 1960s, the bike which inspired the Scrambler's high level exhausts. The current Bonneville itself made its first appearance in 2001 when it was powered by the first 790cc version of the retro parallel twin, but when the Scrambler appeared in 2006 we fitted it with the latest 865cc engine, to achieve the strong torque at low revs we were after. After that it was a case of researching the archives and adding features to give the Scrambler its convincing 1960s style, while ensuring it still rode like a modern Triumph should. Engine Performance For the Scrambler we retuned the 865cc eight-valve engine to give you more torque at very low revs. It peaks at a strong 68Nm at 4750rpm but keeps producing useful thrust much lower than that, with 90 per cent of its torque on tap from as low as 2500rpm. Selling my 2007 Triumph Speed Triple 1050. This is an awesome bike, very fast, fun, and surprisingly comfortable, even on long rides. 15,400 miles on it now, but I ride it frequently so that may go up slightly. There are some cosmetic blemishes on the right side of the bike, as it was knocked over while parked on my street. The right side engine covers have the most noticeable scratches, and there are a few small scratches on the fork clamp and exhaust. The Triumph decal sticker on the right side of the tank is also scuffed from where the handlebar hit it, but the tank is not affected. Mechanically, the bike is in excellent shape, with all regular service performed on time. Oil always changed every 3,000 miles with premium synthetic. Has relatively new Continental Pilot Sport 3 tires, with about 3,000 miles on them. Just had the spark plugs changed, valves lash inspected, and forks rebuilt with new seals. The bike has aftermarket turn signals front and rear, a Pro Taper CR high bend handlebar, Two Brothers exhaust, and a Sargent Seat. The seat was just purchased a few months ago, and makes the bike very comfortable on long rides. I recently rode this bike from South Carolina to Nebraska with no problems. I believe I am the third owner of this bike. I am only selling because I have another motorcycle and don't have enough room to keep them both. Clean title in hand. A $500 deposit will be due upon purchase, with the rest of the funds due via cashiers check before transfer of motorcycle. For Sale: This bike is in great shape, only 5300 miles on it which is low for a bike of this year. The previous owner did lay it down and there are scratches on the engine casing and the plastic tail fairings are cracked. I replaced the gas tank, the subframe, handles bars, foot pegs, turn signal and put on a $400 werkes gp slip on exhaust. I also bought an oil filter but have not had time to change the oil in it. I enjoy this bike a lot but do not have have the time to ride it and hope someone else can give it a good home.
