Slightly used 1982 Triumph 750 Bonneville, very rare, only 250 of these were made in 1982. This bike has only had 2 owners - total miles=10,983. Only ridden 406 miles in the past 8 yrs. Bike was completely restored in 2006. Master cylinder may need some work and carbs may need to be cleaned, or possibly some good fuel run thru bike and ridden? Starts right up and idles great. Current owner is a long time M/C mechanic.I am help selling this bike for a friend. I have seen and heard the bike run. Overall it is a very nice ride, needs a little cleaning/polishing and to be ridden. Pictures dont do bike justice. Motorcycle has a clean and clear title. May consider a trade for a 250cc scooter or larger. Please contact me , with any questions - Thanks

1982 Triumph Bonneville Royal750cc Aluminum WheelsRuns and drive great, very clean bike. Very Rare Motorcycle: See Description Below. CELEBRATING A ROYAL WEDDINGBy 1982, Triumph was on the ropes. They were unable to re-engineer their bikes they way they needed to, or even produce enough units to make a profit, due to their severe financial constraints. It was thought that lower-volume, higher-profit "special models" might save the day. Several were proposed and a few were tried. Most fizzled in the marketplace. One such effort was the T140LE Royal Wedding, built to commemorate the British royal wedding of Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer. Built in very low numbers, believed to be less than 1,000, the Royal Wedding was styled differently, depending on which market it was intended for. Why did they do it? Who knows? To build two different models of the same limited-edition special that was already being built in minuscule numbers doesn't make much sense today looking back. But who knows what they were thinking at the time. US-SPEC ROYAL WEDDINGThe US-spec Royal Weddings looked pretty much like normal T140ESs with with mag wheels. But they got a model-specific black paint job with gold pinstriping and no kneepads, dual front disk brakes, and blacked out fork sliders and headlight brackets. Not much uniqueness for a "special". The UK-version was by far the more handsome and "special"-looking.

Stock # X065971978 Triumph T140E classic. The 650 cc capacity production T120 Bonneville was replaced in the early 1970s by the T140 Bonneville, the same basic machine but with a 750 cc engine. Refined from the later 'oil in frame' version of the T120, the first few T140s, designated T140V, featured a larger-capacity engine of 724 cc, a five-speed gearbox and indicators, but still retaining drum brakes and kick-start. Shortly after, the engine was further bored out to 744 cc and front disc brakes were fitted (using single discs until 1982). While originally intended for 'export only' the 750 Bonneville twin, caused so much interest among visitors to the 1973 motorcycle shows, that Triumph decided to put the bike on the home market at the price of 679 uk pounds. In 1975, along with engine modifications, the gearchange lever was moved from right to left to comply with new regulations mandated for the American market and a rear disc brake fitted. Several T140 models followed featuring various modifications and refinements including electric starting from 1980 until production ceased with the closure of the Meriden works in 1983.Although this should have been the end of the Bonneville, as it turned out it was not. Triumph Motorcycles was acquired by businessman John Bloor, who licensed a company called Racing Spares in Devon, run by Les Harris to manufacture the T140 Bonneville. These continuation bikes are known as the 'Devon Bonnevilles', which did not reach the market until 1985, and were not sold in the U.S. Production ended in 1988For more info please call Steele's Cycle at 303-781-5339 or visit our showroom for a test ride!
