1972 Triumph Bonneville T120R, This custom hard-tail Triumph is a project that was started nearly two years ago, with hundreds of hours of work poured into it. This bike began as an oil in frame rolling chassis, with a 1972 Bonneville 650 engine. Chassis: The sub-frame was cut off, and a Factory Metal Works Hard-Tail Kit was welded in. The frame was then sandblasted, and powder coated using Bonded Black Chrome color from powder365. The wheels were disassembled, powder coated with the same color, and re-laced. New Duro vintage style tires were installed on the front and rear wheels. The front and rear hubs are of the conical type, and were polished, with accents of black. The front brake hub actuator/cover was disassembled, the levers were tumbled, and the cover was powder coated in mirror black. The front fork legs were also powder coated black, with a strip of polished metal down the sides. New fork tubes and seals were installed on assembly. The engine started out as 1972 Bonneville 650 5-speed. The entire engine was completely disassembled, sludge trap cleaned, and rebuilt with the following items: 1. New NSK crankshaft bearings 2. New rod bearing shells 3. New sludge trap allen head plug 4. All new seals from MAP Cycle 5. All new gaskets (EMGO) 6. Cylinders bored from stock to .020 over 7. New Emgo pistons with Hastings rings 8. Valve seats cut 9. New Black Diamond valves 10. New bronze valve guides with valve seals 11. Head surfaced 12. New pushrods Due to issues with the original transmission, a low mileage four speed was installed. Exhaust: The exhaust is an upswept style pipe, purchased from Britech New England, and wrapped in titanium color heat wrap. Aluminum exhaust inserts were pressed into the exhaust ports to allow mounting of the pipes. Electrical/Ignition: The electrical system on this bike has been simplified. A Podtronics unit was installed that eliminates the Zener Diode, and the rectifier, which greatly improves reliability, and creates a more simple system. The original wiring harness was simplified by removing excess wiring that was not needed. A Boyer Brandsen Electronic Ignition was installed, and works flawlessly. The battery is in a brown leather tool pouch that is underneath the seat. The front headlight is a Tri-Bar style halogen conversion. This light utilizes a 35W Standard H4 style halogen bulb which improves visibility compared to old Lucas or Stanley lights. Paint: The gas tank and rear fender were professionally painted by BP Customs. It utilizes a deep burgundy with black designs, and silver pin striping to give it an original vintage look, but custom at the same time. Other New Parts: Throttle cables NOS Clutch Cable NOS Front Brake Cable Speedometer cable Carburetors rebuilt using Amal rebuild kits Footpeg rubbers Rear Brake Stop Switch Rear tail ligh $4,600.00

1972 Honda Cb 500, Vintage PROJECT bike / Caf racer; 1972 Honda CB500 has been sitting in heated garage for many years. Next owner should be one who craves a fairly easy restoration of a serious beast with a completely unique one-off addictive sound track. Back in the day, this giant killer regularly kicked butt on Norton Commandos, Triumph Bonnevilles, Harley Sportsters, CB750 Hondas, Moto Guzzis and more on a daily basis. It was all good fun on the the way to biger fish to fry! This machine was being street tested and developed to eventually break the 650 cc top speed world record at Bonneville Salt Flats in the early/mid 1970s. That record was documented on the cover if Big Bike magazine at 137 mph. The owner / rider of that Honda CB500 was an employee of Pop Yoshimura in California. This gent enthusiastically helped me via regular phone chats back then even as he knew we were going to obliterate his record. All the building, racing, and riding stopped for my family when we lost my brother / co-conspirator Jeffrey in an unrelated bike accident in August 1975. Original buildout included 605cc kit, balanced, blueprinted, shot peened crank, shortened piston skirts, modified Headman headers/pipes, oil cooler, Barnett racing clutch, Yoshimura cam setup, Yoshimura magnesium front lower forks, Koni adjustable rear coil overs, dual custom mounted front brake calipers, CB400 shorty handlebars, rear mounted foot controls. Who knows what else I might not remember however some manuals and OE parts catalogs are included. Under 10k total miles on the chassis, way less on the fourth build out of the engine. $3,000.00 6178409797
