2001 Honda XR 400R, Baja design, Enduro, street legal.This has been my daily driver for last full year.I now have a car to pay for, and need money more than the bike.These are great bikes and it needs a good, new home.Kick start only, and it always started for me.Previous owner put 500 miles on cycle before he installed speedometer.So the bike has any actual miles under 5,000.He made the bike a Baja kit. very nice original Honda xr400r,used very little by mature original owner, still has original tires on it that's how little it was ridden. Very nice condition runs great. Has some small marks and scuffs. Sold with bill of sale. Pick up only unless you arrange shipping. I can deliver to a shipper if you arrange it.

Great bike and the last year that California will issue a green sticker for OHV riding. The green sticker allows you to ride all seasons in California. No problems, bike has sat about a year and could use a tune up.

Selling my 1998 XR400. Original owner. and it breaks my heart to let it go. Currently running, but the carb could use a good cleaning. Titled in South Dakota. Skid plate and brush guards on the handle bars. It's an off-road vehicle so it has the typical wear and tear associated with that class of vehicle. I'll include some miscellaneous accessories (off-road wearable tool pack, spare brake/clutch levers). I also have a folding ramp that can go with it, as I'll no longer need it. Buyer responsible for shipping arrangements, local pickup available. I'll get more pictures upon request.

This 2001 XR400 is in mint condition and has some nice upgrades. The fork brace, Factory Effex seat, frame guards, Tusk gas cap and temperature gauge oil filler cap were on it when I purchased it. I then added the Mikuni pumper carb kit, ground down the exhaust headers weld build-up, and drilled three 0.22" holes in the exhaust (the Gordon mods), which eliminated the low end bog that plagued it when I first rode it. While installing carb I also replaced the intake manifold O-ring just due to age. Reason for sale is I am 60yo and with the sciatica I just can't ride this anymore. It runs better than new, has very few hours and no abuse, even the original plastic and decals look like new. I doubt this bike has ever been ridden in the dirt. I ride it up and down the street once every week or two to heat cycle it and move gas (non-ethanol) thru the carb. Bike is sold on bill of sale. There is no title, I fabricated the VIN and mileage to suit ebay. Bike is located in central Florida, and available for view by appointment.

Great bike, I love this thing. I upgraded to a XR650L so I could ride on streets. Starts easy in all weather! only thing wrong is the trip meter as stated above. Don't miss out on this bike, these bigger 4 strokes are hard to find! of course being an older dirt bike, these did not come with a title. I will issue a bill of sale. This is not street legal.

You could call this a 'mechanics special' for someone who likes to work on bikes. Yes, it's in pieces, but it's all there except for the rear wheel. Has clear title and matching numbers. The Bad: Needs a new lower end, meaning a new crankshaft, Conrod and piston assembly. It started knocking, so I pulled it apart with the intention of rebuilding. Ended up buying another running XR and neglected the 440. Also needs a rear wheel. A few parts were accidentally left out in the rain and have some surface rust that will come off with a wire wheel. However, the clutch friction discs may not have survived the rain damage. The Good: This bike REALLY kicked ass with the 440 motor, Mikuni pumper carb, White Brothers e-series performance exhaust and TCI competition throttle. The 440 kit was by 'Al Baker's XR's Only' and included their 'Big Fin' modified cylinder head. Fin extensions were welded onto the stock cylinder head fins allowing the hotter running 440 to keep cool. It was an absolute BRUTE! My CRF riding buddies were afraid of it, LOL! I no longer ride due to a knee injury and have sold off all my other bikes. This is the last one to go. Of all my bikes, this is the one that gave me the most smiles and memories of epic trail rides. It would be great to see it go to an enthusiastic builder who will bring her back to life. Otherwise I will end up parting it out, and that would be a shame! REASONABLE offers considered... Buyer is financially responsible for pick up and shipping. I will make myself available to meet the freight shipper at my house, for the pick up that you will arrange. I will carefully pack all the loose parts into a shippable box to guard against loss or damage in transit. I will also accept local pick up.
