1980 Yamaha XT 500 very nice condition garage kept. I got it out of storage put the battery in it after a long winters nap and it started second kick and now it starts first kick. My son was in town and rode it to the lake and around town (300 miles) and said it runs excellent all the maintenance has been done. Oil change valves adjusted cam chain tightened. Last year I put new chain and sprockets front and rear, Carb kit, battery all the stuff it needed to be in top condition. Due to physical disability I will never ride again so the best thing to do is sell it to someone who will enjoy it and have fun. I live in Wyoming so if you need an excuse to visit this state this is it enjoy yourself. I would prefer local pickup because I like to give the option of a test ride if it is not what you expected or as described I will refund your money. I will ship the bike after receipt of payment but the buyer is in charge of all the shipping arrangements. I have a clear title and can be signed over the same day as purchase. original (except seat cover) xt500. starts, runs, rides, shifts, stops. all electrics work. when I bought got the bike it was a literal barn find. tach, speedometer/odometer all function. no dents in aluminum tank, just a little clear coat peel on right side. exhaust dirty/rusty but solid with no rot out. this is a nice unmolested original bike that is the perfect candidate for a sympathetic or full blown restoration. or clean the carb, change the oil, etc. and ride as is. that was my intention but don't have the leg for it anymore. clear title.

I am asking $500 O.B.O. for this bike.48,6XX miles.It runs and drives! I Commute to collage on this bike, twice a week to eau claire from barron. Has served me very well and is very reliable.Excellent for a beginner bike!! Or a restoration project! Or just a cheap way for transportation!Recently bought a bigger bike, thats why I’m selling. Has a few minor issues and some cosmetic work needed, thats why its priced low. Hard to find a fully running and drivable bike for under 800 bucks.Good:- new battery- rebuilt & cleaned carbs- comes with large saddle bags- new front tire (put on this spring)- compression is excellent- new plugs (comes with another too)- valves and timing chain adjusted.- fresh oil change.- adjustable sissy bar/ back rest for solo or double.- runs & drives- will get you from point a to point b- new fuel pump.- comes with another clutch pack and basket assembly.- new battery this spring- cleaned and coated inside of tank.- plenty of power, gets up and scoots for a 500- all lights work (except speedo light)- has crash cage and highway pegs.- low seat height.- light bike, good for a beginner.- engine flushed.- I am sure there is more I am forgetting.-45+ mpg!!Bad:- Tank needs to be re-painted (not rusty)- clutch is weak when riding double. (comes with clutch kit assembly)- dings, scrapes...etc. think previous owner dropped it. - handle bars are a tiny bit off it seems (still safe and comfortable)- front brakes a little soft. ($25 kit, still work, Back work great)- burnt out light bulb on speedo. Hard to read at night. Tach backlight works good.- leaks a little oil.- last season for back tire.- Only has left side mirror.No joy rides, test drives welcomed.
