The carburetors have been rebuilt and the motorcycle runs good. I have a few extra parts for the motorcycle which include 2 oil filters, new clutch cable, Yamaha service manual for the TX500 model, new ignition switch, and a new sure-support back rest with locking compartment. There are a couple extra parts on the motorcycle which are a luggage rack and front crash bars. The motorcycle has one small dent on back side of front fender and it could use an oil change. I myself have not come across a nicer original, every nut and bolt, 1973 car or motorcycle. This bike is by no means perfect but close, small pitting here and there. Starts right up shifts as it should all work as it should. Electric or kick start, compression 150 at both cylinders,or close to that.The bike sounds nice and is quick.This bike was not a barn find but a properly stored bike by the same owner since 1973. I still have the original tile(first year NY titled motorcycles),owners manual and tool kit from1973. I am the second owner. Bike has a minor tank dent and minor pipe dent. There is no rust that I can find. Ask questions and look at the pics. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer bike of this vintage.This bike should really be part of a collection. VINTAGE WINTER PROJECT 1974 YAMAHA TX500

I have a perfect father son or winter project. The bike is complete but needs some restoration before it would be road worthy. Tires are old and dry rotted. The battery needs to be replaced. The carbs will need to be attended to. I have a great carb guy I can send you to(he will do them on bike or off) I am presently soaking the tank inside with Evaporust and it should look like new when I drain it out in a couple of days. The seat is near mint and the chrome cleaned up real nice. The mufflers have some dings in them. This bike is actually in real nice condition for it original vintage. I have a clear title for the bike and can deliver within 50 miles of Anoka for a small fuel fee. Will listen to offers and consider trades also.

Up for sale is my 1974 Yamaha TX500 café style bike. I will try to list everything done to the bike but may miss some things. clip on bars different headlight/speedo setup from 1960's Yamaha newer battery all new front braking system including larger master cylinder for dual discs, new calipers and shoes, new brake hoses, banjo bolts, brake light switch, etc. the fuel petcocks were rebuilt custom taillight/ rear hump/ seat built from another Yamaha fuel tank custom made seat pad new air filters and mufflers with carbs re-jetted to run correctly new points all new cables covered with gray heat shrink, some NOS cables steering damper welded on to frame tachometer block off cap bronze swing arm bushings new fork seals and dust covers forks rebuilt with new progressive springs and race tech gold valves new progressive rear shocks sprung for 160 lb rider new tapered steering head bearings new coils/ plug wires/ and plug boots/ plugs this bike has the oil filter adapter kit so you can use a modern oil filter on it numerous new rubber parts including foot pegs, shifter, kicker, kick stand stop, grommets,etc. all case cover oil seals were replaced case covers and valve cover was polished NOS clutch adjuster bolt/nut new drive chain NOS brake and shifter petals new aftermarket kicker new grips NOS chrome trim rings for side covers I have not gotten into the motor at all other than to adjust the valves. It still runs strong so I did not feel the need for a rebuild. The original gauges had 14692 miles on them when I replaced them with the current gauge. The blue was professionally painted as close as could get the factory color. Base coat/clear coat. All of the silver (frame, swing arm, fork bottoms, handle controls, etc) was also done in base/clear coat by me. The rims are just spray bombed black. I also have about $400-$500 in chrome nuts and bolts. Most everything on the bike was either replaced or reconditioned. Everything on the bike works as it should, runs, drives, stops, shifts, lights work. There is a small dent in the tank from where bike fell against my work bench. See pics. Also, I currently have the front fender on the bike to keep the road dirt down. It is a little rusty but comes with the bike if you want it. Bike is currently registered as an antique in PA. Up for sale is a 74 Yamaha Tx500. The bike has been stored for several years and is currently not running. I used a jump box and the indicator lights and horn work and the starter turns the engine over. The bike seems to have great compression. The tires hold air but don't have a bunch of life left. Most of the chrome is in really nice shape and could be cleaned up very nicely. The exhaust is very solid aside front a couple dings. The front fender is not on the bike but is included. It has a few dings but the chrome is good. The body has been painted a burgundy color which is not professionally done but isn't too bad. The bike will need a new battery, fork seals, and the carbs and brakes gone through for sure. Overall this bike is in really clean condition for the year and has a lot of potential.
