1978 Harley Davidson XLCR Café Racer. Collector’s bike. $15,000.00 Selling my classic cafe racer Harley. It’s all stock with original paint. I am the second owner of this collector’s bike with its 12,360 original miles. I purchased the bike with around 12,200 miles 20 years ago and it’s been in climate controlled storage for those 20 years. Bike has updated tire on back and original Good-Year A/T tire on front. I have original rear Good-Year Eagle A/T which goes with bike. This XLCR bike is a limited edition of only 3133 produced and 1978 was the second (only 1201 manufactured) year of production. Also offered is an extra/new original Siamese dual exhaust system. Please review the pictures and research this bike on the web if you are seeking additional technical information on this model. The Café Racer concept was dreamt up by Harley design chief Willie G. Davidson, and he took the idea to the limit. Almost every part of the bike was pure black: the bikini fairing, the fuel tank, the tapered flat-track style seat unit, the side panels and mudguards, the frame, the exhaust system and most of the big 45-degree V-twin engine itself. The effect was stunning, and unlike anything Harley had done before. I am selling this bike (and my 1980 Honda CBX SuperSport with 2,929 miles and my 1973 Triumph TR5T Trophy Trail with 1656 miles) to restore my 1958 Corvette. Cycle is being sold “as is, where is” with no warranty unless written by seller. PayPal or cash payments only. Bike is located in Jacksonville, FL and shipping is buyer’s responsibility and costs. Seller will transfer title upon receipt of full funds.

Called "The Blue Bonneville" for obvious reasons, everything is powder coated except the seat and headlamp bucket which are fiberglass and so spray painted. The engine was completely stripped down, the cases split and everything was cleaned and inspected. Every single bearing was replaced as were all the seals. The head was completely rebuilt with new valve guides, valves and springs. Small repairs were made to the cases where some of the threads had been stripped. Gear box was completely stripped down, a new main shaft put in and several worn gears replaced. The engine was rebuilt by Bob Wolf of Arbutus, MD. The barrels and pistons are .006 over and crank, pistons and con rods were sent to "House of Balance" here in Baltimore for balancing. It has all new clutch plates and a new stator. The battery is a light weight lithium model from Shorei and it and all main electrics are under the seat with a metal plate welded into the frame to hold them. No fuses are used instead there are a set of circuit breakers. The seat is secured to the frame using the same method as on a Norton Commando which makes seat removal a simple one minute job should you need to access the electrics. There are two incredibly loud horns mounted under the seat so you won't have any trouble alerting the cage drivers to your presence! A new electronic ignition from Boyer has replaced the points. The bike uses new digital instruments from Acewell as I wanted to try to do a blend of old and new. The old style Lockheed brakes have been replaced with modern Nissin four pot calipers and the lines are new as well, of course. The front forks were completely stripped down and rebuilt with a mixture of new and used parts. The rims are powder coated to match the bike and both hubs were rebuilt with new bearings and the wheels were laced and tuned with stainless steel spokes by an experienced wheel builder here in Baltimore. The unusual rearset set up and foot pegs are off a Yamaha R6 and a slight mod had to be made in the kick start to allow for this. The tank is an old British spec steel tank, increasingly rare here in the US and it has been sealed inside with Carswell tank sealer and powder coated on the outside.

This 2015 Norton Commando 961 Cafe Racer DEMO in Titanium Grey is available for sale at Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay located at 8509 Gunn Highway Odessa, Florida 33556 Phone:813-926-9937 Web: This is a DEMO model and may not meet the manufacturer's requirements that allow us to sell it at this time. So come down and take it for a test ride!(full gear and motorcycle endorsement required)OVERVIEW:There are few certainties in life. Death, taxes – and now a brand new absolute: if you like retro bikes you will lust after a Norton 961. The reason is simple. The Commando is quite simply the best retro bike in the world – and by a handsome margin. At the heart of the bike is a surprisingly clever engine. The 961cc – hence the 961 name – Twin is no technical tour de force, but captures the spirit of British big Twins and improves on the feeling in a way which is as special as a cross plane Yamaha R1.The power output belies the performance. Despite making only 80 horsepower, the Commando zips up to an indicated 110 mph – maybe a shade over 100 mph in actuality – with the merest flick of the wrist. In this respect, it is far more willing than the Ducati Sport Classic, which is its direct competitor, and the Norton simply slaughters the Triumph Bonneville. The engine runs at 270 degree firing intervals and this, combined with a gear driven balancer shaft, makes the 961 smoother than the Ducati – and vastly better than any original British Twin. The chassis is a typical British design, but modernized. Because the engine is dry sump, the oil lives in the top spine of the frame. This is simple, effective engineering and has worked perfectly on many British designs. The suspension is one of the few things not made in Britain. Both the front fork and rear shocks come from Ohlin and they are quality items. I just loved the twin shock swinging swingarm, and the 961 handling is a treat. In summary, this is a bike which you need to sell one, or maybe both, of your kidneys to own. It looks stunning, handles impeccably and has a motor which is so much better than the retro opposition that it deserves to be in a separate class.

2010 Triumph Thruxton, The Cafe Racer...Reinvented!! Sweet Lookin' Bike with Exhaust!! Thruxton, named after the famous racetrack where Triumph ruled the roost. Inspired by the Ton Up Boys of the 1960's. The Thruxton is Triumph's sportiest Modern Classic, and authentic cafe racer delivering a unique Triumph experience. Low rise bars, a sporting riding position, 18-inch spoked wheels, megaphone style exhaust and a race-inspired stripe from tank to tail evoke memories of the Ace caf, racing in the streets, but underneath the engineering is pure 21st century, with a clean-running fuel injected 865 cubic-centimeter parallel twin engine tuned for more performance and modern day reliability. The chassis too brings modern handling and braking thanks to adjustable 41-millimeter forks and a 320-millimeter floating front disc brake gripped by a twin-piston caliper. It's a motorcycle to stir the hearts of those who remember it first time around and for young riders looking for that authentic retro experience that only Triumph can deliver.Head light faring, Back seat faring, Books Manuals, Extra key, kept under covered patio, never dropped, never wrecked, all maintenance at dealership.
