2010 Triumph Thruxton, Cafe Racer's Dream Bike - THRUXTON The café racer. Reinvented. Named after the famous racetrack where Triumph ruled the roost. Inspired by the Ton Up Boys of the 1960's. The Thruxton is Triumph?s sportiest Modern Classic, and authentic café racer delivering a unique Triumph experience. Low rise bars, a sporting riding position, 18-inch spoked wheels, megaphone style exhaust and a race-inspired stripe from tank to tail evoke memories of the Ace Café, racing in the streets, but underneath the engineering is pure 21st century, with a clean-running fuel injected 865 cubic-centimeter parallel twin engine tuned for more performance and modern day reliability. The chassis too brings modern handling and braking thanks to adjustable 41-millimeter forks and a 320-millimeter floating front disc brake gripped by a twin-piston caliper. It?s a motorcycle to stir the hearts of those who remember it first time around and for young riders looking for that authentic retro experience that only Triumph can deliver.

2015 Triumph Thruxton, British-style cafe racer reincarnation! 2015 Triumph Thruxton The Thruxton is born of the café racer culture that dominated motorcycling in the 1960s. Back then, British twins, usually Bonneville engines, were used to form the basis of home built bikes. Used to race from one café to another, they featured extensive modifications such as dropped bars, single seats and upswept exhausts. To this day, we ve kept many of these styling cues for the modern Thruxton. Named after the high speed British circuit where Triumph enjoyed great success in production racing, it follows in the tyre tracks of the legendary 1960s Thruxton T120R. And just like those café racers of the 60s, the modern Thruxton is Bonneville based but nowadays, our engineers have made sure it rides like a modern Triumph twin. So it s dependable enough for everyday use, easy and fun to ride yet still evokes the classic café racer look. Features May Include: Bodywork We created a style for the Thruxton that echoes the 1960s café racers. Back then, machines were modified by their owners for higher speeds and sharper handling. We used classic 1960s paint schemes with period sports stripes and fitted a typical single-seat, or so it looks thanks to the rear cover. In actual fact a passenger can enjoy the ride on a Thruxton too. Handlebars Low and narrow 'Ace' handlebars, named after London's famous Ace Café, with classic bar-end mirrors sit behind a colour-coded flyscreen. Instruments Twin instrument pods sitting high on their top yoke mounting position. Engine You get the same iconic, air-cooled parallel twin that sits proudly at the heart of the Bonneville. Setting the 60s style for the entire bike. The engine and transmission has been engineered with the look of the classic Triumph twins in mind. Even the fuel injection has been moulded so you get the appearance of a pair of carburettors. And there are double overhead camshafts despite what looks like a pushrod tube at the front of the engine, just like the café racers of the 60s used to have. Performance The café racers were built to perform, not just to look good. Configuration The basic format is the same as the current Bonneville, with 360 degree firing intervals, double overhead cams, eight valves, twin balance shafts and fuel injection. So you know it's a thoroughly modern engine that, despite its convincing old-school looks, easily meeting Triumph s high standard of reliability, durability and efficiency. Sound It's the sound and feel of the engine that matters, from the thumping thrust of the generous low rev torque to the eager high revs and the purring, even exhaust note. So distinctive to the parallel twin. Frame All of our extensive chassis experience and technology h

This is basically a brand new Bike with only 288  Miles on it. Selling it because I am moving. The bike has lots of add ons. The bike has been garage kept airconditioned at 74 degrees. Bike is under full waranty. THis bike gets so many looks. Its the best of both worlds reliable and classic cafe style in one. 2014 Triumph Thruxton | Exclusive First Review With Triumph giving the Thruxton a few updates for 2014, it is certainly time to revisit the venerable retro café racer sporting a classic 865cc air-cooled vertical twin motor. The Triumph Classic line has winning styling, and for the right kind of rider, the handling and performance is just what is wanted. First, though, let’s do a quick run-through of the updates to the 2014 Triumph Thruxton. The two biggest changes are the updated megaphone mufflers (designed to release a heartier sound), a flyscreen, a seat cowl (making it a solo machine), plus a racing stripe, chrome chain guard, machined cooling fins, and black oil cooler lines. A great looking bike, now appears and sounds even more purposeful. Unlike its eminently comfortable brothers—the Bonneville and Scrambler–the Thruxton has low-rise bars that put you in an aggressive position. A couple of years ago, the Thruxton was equipped with clip-ons—these chrome tube handlebars are above the triple clamps and considerably less taxing on the wrists and back than in earlier editions. We welcomed the ergonomic change when it happened, and still think it was a good one. However, the bike is rock solid in the corners. If you set a line, it will find its way through. Turn-in and exits are slowly accomplished, as the bike is all about being forgiving, rather than responsive. On the upside, you can be near the Thruxton’s top speed and heeled over quite comfortably in a fast sweeper. This is a bike that eats up long fast corners, while covering up your mistakes in the tightest corners. Frame All of our extensive chass
