This Special Edition Daytona is number 175 of only 250 bikes of its kind produced in 1999. It is often called "The Big Daytona". It is a four cylinder, water cooled, 147 HP, 168 MPH superbike with 6 piston Tokico high performance brakes in the front and Micron exhaust cans. This model is a low-mileage, garage-kept, adult-driven, nearly-mint, one-year-only commemorative edition in exclusive black and gold. Triumph BD 250, Year 1942, one owner, original German papers, original brochure from 1941, "German Motorrad Magazin" article from 1941 (copy) describing the modern technical features of this motorcycle, which gives thorough technical information. Bike was taken off the road in 1958. (Proof in German Title) Only owner was my late father-in-law. He renovated this motorcycle a few years back with new cylinder head, pistons, rims, tires, breaks and disassembled it to have it painted in the original bordeaux red color of the civil version of this bike. This Triumph BD 250 was a German army messenger bike in world war II with the possibility to mount a side car. It was legally acquired from the Wehrmacht (German Army) by my late father-in-law in 1948. All original owner papers available. My late father-in-law had it running. Since then it was stored inside my man cave (all liquids drained - no battery). All moving parts are oiled. Motor is moving free. There is a removable second seat for the rear passenger, a spare seat cover and a spare new cylinder head. Spare parts can still be acquired in Germany. The motorcycle has a new, clean US title. It will need a new gasket , and some time spent freeing up the clutch ... I have an extra side cover , and may have a gasket .. not sure .... The tank is Dry and theCarb on there now has never had fuel ran through it ... The motor is free with good compression and was rebuilt when I got it ..... not much to do to get this running right .... I also have a chainguide that has not been installed ... LOCAL PICKUP ....
