1986 BMW R80GS, This 1986 BMW R80GS is in excellent shape. Bike has been mechanically gone through and is set to go. We have a decent amount of service history available on this bike. Customer previously installed Siebenrock orange seat and SIebenrock rear leather tail bag. After trade in, we installed new stainless steel spokes. Other than that, we wiped it down and rolled it on the floor. Truly a beautiful looking bike with lots of life left. It's important to note that the R80GS was really the bike that put BMW into the adventure bike scene. While it may be significantly smaller than todays R1200GS, it's still a very capable (and collectible) bike!Contact Dave or Zac at MAX BMW CT Brookfield for more info at (203)740-1270.

1981 BMW R80GS Project, If you are very observant you may have seen this exact bike on the web a few month back. It sold very fast, at the asking price which we think is stupidly fail. we took a deposit and the customer never came back to pick it up. We finally reached him and he can???t complete the transaction so we are refunding his deposit. His failure to take it home is your gain! This is a model we hardly ever have available because no one ever turns them loose. We got lucky when this first arrived as a long time DC resident was moving out of the country and could not take either of his BMW???s. While this machine is not beautiful by any standards it is a real 1981 R80GS and these are in very high demand and extremely short supply in any condition. First you should know that it starts, runs, shifts and stops just fine. It???s also bit cold-blooded but that???s to be expected when one spends considerable money upgrading it to the Siebenrock 1000 cc top end kit. Some additional tuning might improve this further if not just some regular exercise as it???s seen very few miles over the past few years before we got it and we???ve had it since July of 2012. Yeah, it got pushed into the warehouse with all the others despite having a bunch of money tied up in it. It also has a deep oil pan, some Hepco & Becker bag mounts and luggage rack and a European Stainless steel low pipe exhaust. There???s more goodies attached and plenty of other details you???ll want to know about before scheduling a time to come and inspect this bike so read further and please look closely at all the photos because we think there is a real and very desirable gem hiding under some dirt and grime but it may be the perfect R80GS to fine tune a little and dedicate you all of your serious off road adventures. Can you say ???Big Dog Ride here I come???? As with all PROJECT BIKES it is sold AS IS and without any warranty or guarantee so please read the special PROJECT BIKE Bill of Sale

1981 BMW R Series GS, BMW R80GS / R100GSA 1981, R80 motor just rebuilt with R100 top end and big valve - big port heads. Less than 100 miles. 44mm Bing carbs.. 5 speed transmission with kick start. Brand new Continental TKC 80's just installed. Heavy duty tubes front and rear. Fox "Twin-Clicker" fully adjustable rear shock, rebuilt. GSPD forks, clamps, HD springs, rebuilt. Steering head bearings just replaced. Akront front rim. GSPD front disk. Harrison six piston brake caliper. Galfer steel braded brake line. Acerbis 10+ gallon gas tank. High output headlamp. PIAA driving lights. BMW tachometer. Alternator rebuilt by Motorrad Elektrik. Voltage monitor. Heated grips. 12 volt outlets for heated gear etc. Jesse Bags. Tank bag. Fender bag. Givi top box. Starter recently replaced. Odyssey battery -- New. Solo seat with rack. Stay In-Tune exhaust. Wide foot pegs. The bike runs and shifts excellent. The Harrison brake caliper stops much better than stock. Most everything has been replaced or rebuilt in preparation for a trip that is not going to happen. This motorcycle has been used off road and it has scratches, scrapes, dents, and dings but it is clean and mechanically ready to go. I would not hesitate to take it anywhere. Also, it weighs about half as much as a modern GS so it's much easier to deal with off road. That's all I can think of right now. $6999.00 Some added notes: 133K on the clock. The motor has only break-in miles on it (less than 100 miles). The crank was excellent so we did not touch it. everything from the connecting rod bearings out has been replaced. R100 Nikasil cylinders, and pistons, Deves rings, big valve heads, valves had proper valve grind, 44mm bing carbs, etc. The transmission was rebuilt some time ago, (30K, 50K?) I don't remember exactly, but it shifts perfect, no noise. the drive was rebuilt about 15k ago. All suspension was rebuilt and set up for a loaded bike 3k ago. just installed a new Gel-cell battery. At some point the frame was powder coated. Spare parts and tools are stashed and hidden all over the bike. I haven't even driven on the new Twinduro tires. I can't remember all that I have done to it. This bike is solid. I hope someone buys it that will use it. Its ready to go anywhere. $6,999.00 805-801-8616 David
