I have run out of time to keep working on this. I've put an enormous amount of work into this Silverwing: - The bike was completely stripped down and the frame, swingarm and most other steel parts powdercoated. - Engine stripped down and honed, new rings - Camshaft was restored by Web Camshafts in California - New Starter clutch gear, starter clutch housing and springs - New cam chain - Clutch basket "fingers" all filed smooth with all new clutch plates (both steel and friction) - New swingarm bearings - New All Balls tapered steering stem bearings - Wiring repair on the connector from the alternator - Electronic speedometer - New tires - Probably other stuff I'm forgetting.. The bike was a mess when I picked it up, definitely years of neglect. Someone even had a Honda CB550 clutch basket in this poor thing, it took me a week to figure that one out. There's a little over 400 miles on this since I rebuilt it and the last time I had it out riding was yesterday. There were a few issues I was still working out. - An occasional clunk during shifting. I believe it's coming from with the driveshaft or the rear end gear. - Speedometer reads low occasionally. Odometer stays accurate though. - Blew a fork seal on the right fork. - Could use a better kickstand Included is the rear seat which was a choice opposed to the trunk that's on it now. You could have a trunk or rear seat with this but not both at the same time. I also have a complete CX650 motor that is included in the auction. With that motor comes a GL650 output shaft, which according to what I have read, was the only difference between the CX and GL 650 motors. Plenty of stuff here to keep you busy for a while. It's 100% as-is/where is with no warranty. Consider it a project bike that you will need to do some work on.

This is a Honda GL650 in acceptable condition for it's age. The engine runs great with no known issues. It pulls strong and smooth. There is no smoke or funny noises. All the electricals work, turn signals, lights, gauges.... Charging system seems fine. It does not leak oil. There is a leak in the cooling system somewhere. I patched it up with silicone and it does not leak right now, but I'm sure it needs to be looked at. Also, keep in mind this is an older bike. Most of the rubber hoses and cables should be replaced. The front brake works, but I can hear the pads touching the disc when I push it. Cosmetically, it is not perfect, it has some corrosion and imperfections (again, it's an old bike), but nothing is rusted through. The exhaust is fine, inside tank is not too bad. The paint is actually pretty good! And The seat, too. The tires are good, changed not long ago, with plenty of thread. Oil was changed, coolant replaced. The previous owner had it dealer maintained and kept it inside. This is kind of a unique bike, I think it was imported only for one year. The CX500 are more common.
