1983 Yamaha IT490. Nice rider restoration. New plastics. Tank refinished. DG pipe/ silencer. New fork boots. New seat cover. New tires / tubes. Runs great! 2-stroke, 490cc engine with 5 speed transmission. This is similar to a YZ490, but has an extra gear and was originally equipped with lights (they're gone now, though). It has a DG pipe & silencer, but is otherwise stock. NO TITLE. $650 firm, cash only, no trades, no delivery.

I have a 1983 yamaha yz 490 for sale Motor was sent out to have the head ported by the best in the business Forward Motion, a Millennium Technologies LLC Company 1404 Pilgrim Road, Plymouth, WI 53073 making it run better on pump gas. Cylinder was bored over .020 and this was the first bore from original. Wiseco piston and rings. Cylinder and head were sandblasted and powder coated as well as exhaust. It starts hard and needs someone that knows these bikes. I jetted it and put larger pilot jets in it. It has a brand new clutch just rebuilt, new throttle cable. Front forks are good and I have new rubber fork boots for it, manual and fork seals. Rear shock should be rebuilt. It also needs chain rollers. This is a beast of a bike and they are getting harder to find. Frame has never been welded and the plastics are in great shape they are aftermarket Maier and Clarke tank .It has under a hour on the rebuild. I am selling it because It is hard to start and I cant figure it out. Coil was replaced new and when it starts on starting fluid it runs and idles great. Shifts through all 4 gears. I have detailed everything I know about the bike, It is a great candidate for a restoration I believe or if you are good with these bikes, I think it has a great start. Some new parts will be included. Ask any question you want. I will ship it if you arrange it and pay for it as long as the bike is paid for first. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early if it sells. Not sure of vin number or mileage. It only will come with bill of sale. 1983 Yamaha Yz490 , Has fresh 1.5 oversize piston on fresh top end. New Chain and Sprockets. Owned for 6 years and never got around to doing much with it. Have not started in over a year but should fire right up. To many projects so selling. Cash only buyers No Trades. 2 stroke. Losts of good parts on the bike. DG exhaust and new muffler. 1983 yz 490 One owner bike. New jets and carb rebuilt. Newer sprockets and Tires look good. Everything runs great fun to ride. This bike was serviced regularly. New seat cover and levers. Starts easy. I have the paper work from the dealer I bought it from in Idaho no title.. Great condition for the age. Runs great with lots of power. plastic is there but has some fading and cracks. Starts easy and shifts great through all the gears. No titles on old dirt bikes in utah the bill of sale serves as the title so all I have is a bill of sale to offer. That is why I put salvage title because nothing else fit.

1975 MAICO GS400– ALL ORIGINAL SURVIVOR! 134 ORIGINAL MILES, FRAME # 341016, ENGINE # K407112, TWO OWNERS FROM NEW, TITLE INCLUDED, RUNS AND RIDES 96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Maicowerk A.G. was a West German motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in 1926 by Ulrich Maistch as Maistch & Co, the company originally manufactured 98 and 123 cc Ilo two stroke engines. After Worls War II, they began producing their own unit construction two-stroke engines, selling complete motorcycles. Maico made a brief foray into the automobile business with their own line of microcars in the late 1950s. Maico have also made go kart engines. The road motorcycles were named after winds... 'Blizzard', 'Typhoon' etc., but the company was better known for its purpose-built Motocross and Enduro machines, and for its 'Maicoletta' motor scooter, both of which sold in higher numbers than the road motorcycles. Maico Racing Motorcycles: Maico motocross (MC) and enduro (GS) racing models proved very successful in both European and American competition throughout the 1970s. While lacking the financial capital and big money race-team backing like that of the Japanese factories of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki, Maico riders such as Adolf Weil, Ake Jonsson, and Willy Bauer proved to be a serious challenge to the Japanese factories and produced numerous top three finishes in the Motocross World Championships. The firm also experienced some success in Grand Prix road racing competitions with rider Borje Jansson winning three 125cc Grand Prix races between1972 and 1973. American publication Motocross Action called the 1981 Maico Mega 2 - 490cc the greatest open-class motocross bike of all time. The 1974.5 400cc and 440cc GP, 1978/79 250cc Magnum and 1981 490cc models along with any year 501cc motocross bike are also some of the most sought-after vintage MX and twin-shock motorcycles to this day. One of the visual modernizations of the Maico off-road motorcycles was the move from a "coffin" style tank in 1974 to a "teardrop" style tank in 1978/79 on bikes like the 250 Magnum. The bikes later moved to plastic tanks in 1980 with the Mega 490. One of the largest contributions to the world of motocross suspension technology came in the 1974 season when the Wheelsmith Motorcycles team in the USA and the Gunther Schier teams in Europe forward-mounted the rear shocks on the Maico factory-backed motorcycles, immediately increasing the travel and ability to trump the competition. This initiated a frantic effort on the part of factory teams and privateers alike; chopping up their frames in a desperate attempt to remain competitive. Maicowerk AG filed for bankruptcy in 1983, but continued to produce small numbers of motocross and enduro models (re-badged as M-Stars in the United States due to legal issues) up through 1986. Subsequent manufacturers have purchased the brand name and applied it to their own limited production motorcycles. Modern open-class dirt-bikes are still being produced under the Maico brandname. The ATK Intimidator dirt-bike (reportedly the most powerful production 2 stroke motorcycle available aside from Maico's own motorcycles) features a Maico motor. After the company went out of business in 1986, its assets were taken over by a Dutch company, but to this day retains a strong cult following. Many riders restore vintage Maicos for display or to take back to the track.

Just Last Month 11/20/15 This Beautiful Bike & Two Other of my Bikes were in the "WORLDS LARGEST MOTORCYCLE SHOW" ...The Los Angeles Area "Progressive Cycle Worlds MC Show" in the "VINTAGE JAPANESE Motorcycle Clubs Booth !!!!!! This year was our 3 of the 10 Bikes Were chosen to be in our Clubs Booth !! Over the past 4 years we have had We have had 14 Bikes in our VJMC Clubs Booth ! So Yes the bike you are Bidding on is the Bike Pictured Below in Our Clubs Booth !!!!!! This Fairly Rare Early 1970's TS 400cc Beauty Looks a bit like a earl;y 1970's SUZUKI 400 (Looks a little Like Roger DeCosters Race Bike with lights ) So I guess this is a Tribute Style bike. This bike was only used a couple of years and was not ridden hard at all (as her Near Perfect Engine cases & Rims fenders etc etc Show very well !!This wonderful Bike was Originally Sold here in Southern Calif Originally as a Dual Purpose" STREET BIKE the owner lived near the national Forest area & so he re-purosed the bike for more off road use & after a while sold his cabin & since that time this Wonderful Bike has sat in Dry Storage Since aprox.1979 according to the Original Owner till we started her Cosmetic Restoration that we are just now completing !!!!! I think This STUNNING , VERY SPIRITED & GOOD RUNNING Bike is a DREAM ! These TS 400 bikes are FAR MORE FORGIVING & Less Explosive to Ride as compared to a Dirt Racing only TM 400's & RM 400 as the TS 400 have a little more Torque & are Far More Controllable & FAR Easier to Start compared to the Typical 400cc Dirt Racers....* * PLEASE NOTE: this TS 400 (a TS is a lot like suzuki's Street Legal version of the TM or RM W/Lights SUZUKI Is I think this may be one of the latter more refined years of the FAR Simpler & FAR More RELIABLE & DURABLE Vintage RACE-ABLE Air Cooled TS 400 Two Stroke Engines & I believe this is also a Vintage Raceable DUAL SHOCK, REAR SWING ARM SUSPENSION SYSTEM" this makes this TS 400 a little like a TM 400 or RM 400 than earlier TS 400's & Best of all these are designed as a Street Legal ENDURO "DUAL SPORT" Use Etc etc & Not just Dirt Racing ...Please keep in mind She has all of her Charging Circuit+Lights are present..But, this bike was repurposed off road so will need all lights+gadges reconnected Again to Be 100% street legal again....I have sold several of these SUZUKI PE's and YAMAHA IT's to people that make them into a more Street " Bobber " (Cafe Racer) Bike .. This Vintage Racing 1974 SUZUKI TS 400 has her Original SUZUKI Tuned Exhaust with a New . & She Looks to have Her Original Factory SUZUKI TS 400 seat REBUILT From The FRAM UP !!!. We also Cleaned the Entire Fuel system & added a Quality Inline Fuel Filter & her Original Owner added a Brand New "UNI" High Performance Tube Style Air Cleaner Element, & "We Installed The VERY BEST "MODAL" Trans Mission Oil". The Front and rear suspension visually looked good & it's Suspension seals did not appear to be leaking at this time so other than to clean them & refinished the lower Alloy fork legs etc etc (IE) as far as fluid levels etc. they are just as we received them and we have not tested the suspension as we are just now getting the Bike Running again & completing the cosmetic restoration on this Beautiful Bike, Over and Beyond this...In Her Cosmetic Restoration process..We removed most Every Main Component on the bike...nearly all the way down to her "Bare Frame" + Cleaned & refinished most every main component then hand reassembled ~every main item back onto her frame again "Piece by Piece".. She has I believe a Original Vintage 400 SUZUKI Fuel tank that was extremely clean inside (as You should be able to see in the included pictures) we repainted her & added Brand New SUZUKI Graphic were just installed. We also cleaned, painted & refinished the; Frame, Hubs, Spokes, Exhaust Pipe (Tuned Exhaust system) & Her Original SUZUKI Exhaust System. She has Headlight & Taillight etc & we repainted her Nice Front fender & her rear fender etc.& we painted everything to match to a look very close to what I think a street able Tribute to ROGER DeCOSTERs Early 1970's MX race bike looked like a lot like a TM 400's & RM's would have looked NEW like back in the day ! . We installed Brand New High Quality Vintage style rubber handlebar Hand Grips. Her Transmission Gears Shift GREAT Her Clutch Releases & Grips GREAT !!! This Fairly Rare Early 1970's TS 400cc Beauty (that I think Looks a bit like a early 1970's SUZUKI 400 Like Roger DeCoster's 400 Race Bike with lights ) So.. I guess this is a Tribute Style bike. This bike was only used a couple of years and was not ridden hard at all (as you can see her Near Perfect Engine cases, Alloy Fork Legs, Low slung Original factory Down Pipe, Rubber foot pegs & Rims rear fenders etc etc Show very well !! This wonderful Bike was Originally Sold here in Southern Calif Originally as a Dual Purpose" STREET BIKE the owner lived near the national Forest area & so he re-purosed the bike for more off road use & after a while sold his cabin & since that time this Wonderful Bike has sat in Dry Storage Since aprox.1979 according to the Original Owner till we started her Cosmetic Restoration earlier this year ...that we are just now completing !!!!! Her Original 1974 Seat Which was Rebuilt from the frame Up & Looks & Feels Great !!!!) I think This STUNNING , VERY SPIRITED & GOOD RUNNING Bike is a DREAM ! These TS 400 bikes are FAR MORE FORGIVING & Less Explosive to Ride as compared to a Dirt Racing only TM 400's & RM 400 as the TS 400 have a little more Torque, Smoother Running + Better Idling (Due to her FAR Greater flywheel Action) & Therefore These AMAZING TS 400s are Far More Controllable & FAR Easier to Start compared to the Typical 400cc TM & RM 400 Dirt Racers....* * PLEASE NOTE: this TS 400 (a TS is a lot like suzuki's Street Legal version of the 400 TM or to a lesser degree a little like a RM 400 W/Lights SUZUKI Is I think this may be one of the latter more refined years of the FAR Simpler & FAR More RELIABLE & DURABLE Vintage RACE-ABLE Air Cooled TS 400 Two Stroke Engines & I believe this is also a "Vintage Race-able ..Original SuZuki TS 400 style Piston Port + Original style DUAL SHOCK, REAR SWING ARM SUSPENSION SYSTEM" this makes this TS 400 a little like a TM 400 or to a lesser degree a RM 400 ..Like the earlier TS 400's.... Best of all these are designed as a Street Legal ENDURO "DUAL SPORT" ENDURO Street Use Etc etc & Not just Dirt Racing ...Please keep in mind She has all of her Charging Circuit+Lights are present..But, this bike was re-purposed off road so will need all lights+gadges re wired & reconnected Again to Be 100% street legal again....I have sold several of SUZUKI TS 's, PE 's and YAMAHA IT 's to people that make them into a more Street " Bobber " (Cafe Racers) Bikes .. (3 went to just Miami Florida ! this year alone !!!) Many People also use these for Vintage Dirt & ENDURO RACING Bikes ... Value Guide) states that a Really Nice TS 400 would sell for ..Also, Recently, I have seen several of these bikes that were Very Beat & Very Faded Not much left of them & (totally UN restored & without their engines being rebuilt like with this AMAZING Beauty has just had done to her) selling for MORE $$$$ than my Ridiculously Low Buy It Now Price" & Again, This Bike has had Her Engine Extensively Rebuilt & the other bikes again they were ALL UN (NOT) Beautifully Cosmetically Restored, & NOT having their engines Rebuilt & looked to be fairly (VERY) Beat, Raw, UN-Cosmetically restored or Rebuilt etc..& More importantly all were UN-(NOT) Beautifully transformed to look like as Nice & did not Run As GREAT as this Beauty! & don't forget this Wonderful bike was in covered Storage for the better part (the Bulk) of it's life (Approx. 35+ years !!!!!!) & you will be the First New Owner since her Wonderful cosmetic restoration as detailed in this auction. Again..These Beautiful 1974 SUZUKI TS 400s Should Prove to be a very Nice & Very Competitive Vintage Racer ! Compared to many Earlier Vintage Race Bikes the Front & Rear Suspension Travel (with Easily Tune-able Vastly Superior Air/Oil tune-able Front Forks + Longer Travel Dual Rear upgraded Shock Struts) & I have been told these had Better Aluminum Legged Front Forks even slightly MORE Use-able Horsepower than earlier year TS 400's & TS 250s ! ! ! I believe her Vintage Race-able Super Simple & relatively Easy to Work On "Air Cooled" + "Two Stroke" Racing engine & Dual Rear Shock SWING ARM rear suspension With Nice Rear Shocks etc etc *Again, This AMAZING Great Running Bike is a Dream with her AMAZING Balance & She Feels Very Nimble , Dirt Racing SUZUKI's Are Famous for their GREAT TURNING ability & are Light weight , & Handle very Natural & feel Extremely AGILE ..I feel ..Most Enthusiasts agree these SUZUKI TS 400's are GREAt Super Fun Dual Purpose Bikes. This Vintage Racing 1974 SUZUKI TS 400 has her Original SUZUKI Tuned Exhaust with a New . & She Looks to have Her Original Factory SUZUKI TS 400 seat REBUILT From The FRAM UP !!!. We also Cleaned the Entire Fuel system & added a Quality Inline Fuel Filter & her Original Owner added a Brand New "UNI" High Performance Tube Style Air Cleaner Element, & "We Installed The VERY BEST "MODAL" Trans Mission Oil". The Front and rear suspension visually looked good & it's Suspension seals did not appear to be leaking at this time so other than to clean them & refinished the lower Alloy fork legs etc etc (IE) as far as fluid levels etc. they are just as we received them and we have not tested the suspension as we are just now getting the Bike Running again & completing the cosmetic restoration on this Beautiful Bike, Over and Beyond this...In Her Cosmetic Restoration process..We removed most Every Main Component on the bike...nearly all the way down to her "Bare Frame" + Cleaned & refinished most every main component then hand reassembled ~every main item back onto her frame again "Piece by Piece".. She has I believe a Original Vintage 400 SUZUKI Fuel tank that was extremely clean inside (as You should be able to see in the included pictures) we repainted her & added Brand New SUZUKI Graphic were just installed. We also cleaned, painted & refinished the; Frame, Hubs, Spokes, Exhaust Pipe (Tuned Exhaust system) & Her Original SUZUKI Exhaust System. She has Headlight & Taillight etc & we repainted her Nice Front fender & her rear fender etc.& we painted everything to match to a look very close to what I think a street able Tribute to ROGER DeCOSTERs Early 1970's MX race bike looked like a lot like a TM 400's & RM's would have looked NEW like back in the day ! . We installed Brand New High Quality Vintage style rubber handlebar Hand Grips. Her Transmission Gears Shift GREAT Her Clutch Releases & Grips GREAT !!! She is just coming out of Dry Storage Important thing is the Clutch does Grip GREAT & the more she runs the better it should work. She has BRAND NEW Gear Box OIL "MODOL" which is said to be the Very Best Gear oil you can get) She has her Original Fork Tube Rubbers which I think look & Feel almost like Brand New looking Rubber Fork Tube Boots, She has almost "BRAND NEW" looking Vintage style MX Racing handlebars. Unlike many dirt bikes this Beauty also has a side stand. if you would like to..Also, you can lift the bike on a Race Bike Stand & also I believe, she has updated clutch & front brake levers have also been updated as were her AMAZING "BRAND NEW Front & Rear Tires along the way. Like Her Original TS 400 seat cover etc ...The Shifter , Clutch, Brakes, kick Starter Levers All seems to work GREAT & do not appear to have any real noticeable wear & or damage to them : PLEASE NOTE: We are just completing her Brand New cosmetic Restoration (as detailed above etc)...& "YOU" can be the Very First Owner of this Beautiful Bike since this was completed !
