selling my custom bike. everything works, starts and runs great. must see to appreciate.engine has roughly 800 miles on it. i got it with 600 miles and put on 112 miles since finishing the project. i'm selling it because i never have time to use it. the swingarm, front and rear suspension, wheels, engine, and electronics are from 1989 yamaha radian 600. the frame, fuel tank, tail, and side covers are from 1981 yamaha seca 550. battery, oil change, k&n air filter, new carb boots and carb synch. new swingarm bearings, front and rear wheel bearings, and new tapered steering stem bearings. progressive fork springs, new chain and sprocket. aftermarket parts - koso gauge with head temp, oil temp, fuel gauge, neutral light, turn signal indicator. renthal fatbar handlebar, crg bar end mirror, rox risers, radial front brake master cylinder, stainless steel brake lines, driven grips, and driven bar ends.powder coated rims, valve cover, engine side covers, front forks, upper and lower triple trees, exhaust.if this post is up, the bike is still available

Absolutely beautiful 1981 Yamaha Seca 550 (XJ550RH) in a rare one year only Pearl White with factory mini-fairing! Only 8k miles with the original warranty card and owners manual from the first owner...Yes it's a one owner bike! We see this as a nice bike for a beginning collector or for someone who just likes riding a very nice piece of history. All factory except parts replaced due to aging such as new Michelin tires, chain and sprocket, fuel petcock o-rings etc (more details below). All it needs is a new owner to love it, care for it, and ride it. The XJ550RH has a little more sporty riding position while still being very comfortable to ride. Take a look and please feel free to contact us for questions or more details! Mechanicals: The bike is very fun to ride and we just love to ride it. The transmission shifts very nicely and the engine is solid. Inside of the fuel tank is in nice shape. The bike is very complete and is configured as it was built. We’ve made sure it’s road ready with only very high quality replacement parts being used. Cosmetics: Very clean in general and exceptionally clean under the seat in the frame area. The bike has new factory matched paint on the fuel tank and side covers along with new factory correct decals. Very nice over all. There are a few light scuffs/scratches on the mufflers as well as a spot on the right pipe just below the engine that has lost a bit of shine (see pictures). The fairing is missing a couple of the plastic screws and has a small blemish on one side (again please see pictures). The plastic screws are very difficult to find so we considered replacing all of them with chrome screws but decided to leave the choice of style to the new owner. It even has the original Yamaha zippered document pouch that snaps in place in the rear cowl. We put a lot of effort into this XJ550RH Seca to bring it to something that represents how it was built and yet have it be able to be ridden. We always say "Ride it don’t hide it!” Given the rarity of the bike we thought it deserved to be represented in its original form and didn’t see it being modified as a bobber or café bike. It deserves to be as it was built. Please note that while the bike is in excellent shape it is a 30+ year old bike that still has a lot of 30+ year old parts. That is to say it’s much like owning a vintage car. It is not new and may have things that need attention over time. However, if it’s taken care of this motorcycle should provide years of enjoyment. for sale is a 1981 Yamaha XJ550RH Seca in good running and driving condition, good tires, new battery, has been painted blue (not best job), seat needs cover but foam core is good, has a single disc front brake and a drum rear, all lights and blinkers work, right mirror is cracked all chrome in good shape. engine runs strong, no smoke, will need chain and sprockets soon, has open after market open air cleaners and 4 into 1 Viper shorty exhaust loud and proud sounding.
