This is a 1977 Yamaha XS360 with very low miles and basic cafe racer modifications. The bike starts, runs, rides and stops very well with no leaks or issues. The cafe racer mods can be reversed very easily if you chose because no cutting or changes to the bike have been done, four bolts to remove the fairing. The original headlight and equipment is 100% intact, and two bolts + a latch to install a new seat... The engine has recently been cleaned and tuned including a carb sync. It runs very well, shifts beautifully, stops on a dime and the electrical is in very good original condition.This bike does not currently have an electric start, it is kick only. The mechanism is great and with the recent tune it fires up even cold (Seattle) with 2-3 kicks. You can add an electric starter and switch for $100 in parts (found on eBay) and roughly 1.5 hours in labor. Or pull the factory airbox, add pods and strip it down to be a true cafe racer. The tire are fairly new with a lot of life left, shoes are good, as stated everything mechanical is awesome, gas tank is perfectly clear with no rust or corrosion, and feel free to ask any detailed questions you have... This bike is very fun to ride, is well balanced and you won't find another with these low miles for the price.I really like it but have to let it go and hope the buyer enjoys it as much as I do. Note that the last photo shows a stock bike for reference... 1977 Yamaha RD400 (RD350 Fuel Tank) The bike was completed in 2013, has multiple local show wins, was Two Stroke World Bike of the Month for Sept 2013, and featured in Cafe Racer Magazine's Readers Rides section (Jan 2015). Bike runs and looks flawless. It's been a fair weather rider with probably 500 miles on it since completed. Tuned perfectly, it starts on first / second kick and never fouls plugs. Perfect 2mm smoke ring was obtained during plug chops. Engine conservatively timed @ 1.7mm BTDC and running 32:1 premix Amsoil Interceptor oil and 93 Octane. All wiring is neatly tucked under seat and fuel tank. New owner will receive a color wiring diagram of the bike I did in AutoCAD. Engine rebuilt with cylinder and head work (squish bands cut, compression set to run on pump gas) by Supertune Racing. Pro-X pistons, Barnett Clutch and springs, Banshee Reeds and Intakes w/ crossover tube, Kehin 28mm PWK carbs, Uni Pods, JL chambers in bare steel that have been waxed, cases painted with fuel resistant POR 15 engine paint (silver) outer covers with PJ1 satin black and new decals. What you see is what you get. 3 whole motorcycles!!! The kawasaki 650s both have titles, the yamaha does not. These all sat in a 275 year old outbuilding in Philadelphia, supposedly was where Ben Franklin kept his documents at one time. The building was in bad shape and had leaks so that is why these are in the condition you see them in. Engines are all locked. Bikes themselves roll fine. I didnt go through the bins, there are extra wire harnesses mirrors, gauges, lights and odds and ends. There is also a honda front end but im not sure what it is off of. The bikes themselves are solid, not rusted, exhausts are all in good shape. I am selling everything you see as a package, I am not really in the parts business. I sell whole bikes for the most part. Up for auction is a 1977 YAMAHA XS400 motorcycle. This is a STOCK, STOCK, STOCK, all numbers matching machine with 10,800 original miles. The twin Mikuni CV carbs were cleaned and calibrated with a manometer, gas tank was lined with Red Kote, petcock was rebuilt, front brake master cylinder was rebuilt, rims were cleaned, wheel bearings repacked, fork oil replaced, engine oil changed, original paint was rubbed out, bike was thoroughly serviced / rebuilt 100 + miles ago. Electric starter was rebuilt, battery is about 6 mo old, all electrical switches, buttons, directional’s, features work just as they should. It handles nice, with crisp throttle response. Transmission is a close ratio six speed unit. The bike has its nicks, pits and dings, but, it is a OEM 37 year old machine that runs great.
