Fuji Heavy Industries produces the Fuji Rabbit in Japan from 1946 through 1968. Production began six months before the first Vespa was built, and was in response to scooters used by allied serviceman after the second world war. The Rabbit was the first scooter built in Japan. Fuji Rabbit scooters evolved into some of the most technologically advanced scooters of the era. Features included electric starters, automatic transmissions and pneumatic suspensions. These scooters are capable of reaching almost 60mph. As the Japanese economy expanded, Fuji diversified into automobile production in 1958, with the introduction of the Subaru 360. 1970 BSA 650 Lightning. Original paint, unrestored with only 11,494 miles. This bike is in excellent condition, 100% original with possible exception of seat which may have received a recovering. Paint shows normal wear and tear, but is in very good condition for its age. Chrome is excellent with minor blistering on a couple areas, a small dent in front fender, and a couple dents on front edge of gas tank, tank chrome is excellent. This motorcycle is tuned, serviced, and ready to enjoy, starts easy, rides good, with all systems functioning properly. This motorcycle was always maintained, never left to sit for long periods. Received gentle use by a loving owner. Last week, we gave this motorcycle a complete service and safety inspection, all systems are functioning properly with the exception of the kickstart lever which sometimes sticks, as you can see in the video of it running.
