All around performance to carry just about any load. Sportsmen and farmers often need a four-wheel-drive vehicle capable of hauling gear to farms, fields and remote locations. The Kawasaki Mule™ 3010 4x4 off-road utility vehicle is the industry standard with durability and dependability that can’t be matched. Larger than an all-terrain vehicle but smaller than a compact pickup truck, the Mule 3010 4x4 features a four-stroke industrial-grade engine, selectable four-wheel drive, an automatic transmission, bench seat and tilting cargo bed. The Mule 3010 4x4 utility vehicle features aggressive styling, a rugged bumper, dual headlights and rounded fenders, and the body panels of the cab are made of durable, color-infused plastic to help hide scuffing. The front hood can be lifted with the touch of a button to reveal a large storage space, which also has convenient D-rings to secure cargo. Located beneath the front bumper are winch-ready tabs for easy winch mounting, and a passenger-side grab rail is mounted on the cab frame. Plus, two lever latches make opening and closing the tailgate easy. A liquid-cooled, four-stroke V-twin engine provides power for the Mule 3010 4x4 and features an air restrictor gauge to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced. Plus, the fuse box and oil dipstick are located underneath the seat for easy access. The V-twin engine is matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that features high and low range plus reverse. Combined with dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive, power is transmitted to a dual-mode rear differential that can be locked to maximize traction, or unlocked to minimize ground disturbance when making tight turns. The driver can also select four-wheel drive for extra pulling power in muddy conditions.

Kawasaki, the brand that introduced the original off-road utility vehicle in 1988, is leading the way with an innovative new vehicle that sets the industry standard for years to come. The all-new 2005 MULE™ 3010 Trans4x4 is the world’s first four-passenger 4x4 off-road utility vehicle that can be transformed by the operator into a two-passenger vehicle with an extended cargo bed. Based on the popular MULE 3000 series, the new MULE 3010 Trans4x4’s spacious four-passenger cab easily accommodates four adults. But with a couple of quick adjustments, the operator can fold down the rear bench seat and extend the cargo bed farther forward to increase payload capacity. When the operator wants to transform it back to a four-passenger vehicle, the same quick adjustments are made in reverse order.

The unbeatable utility vehicle combination: Diesel power, MULE ruggedness and power steering smoothness. Adding some finesse to its muscular worker horse, Kawasaki fitted the hard working Mule™ 3010 4x4 Diesel with electric power steering (EPS) for 2008. Already a proven hand with its reliable and stout diesel engine, automatic transmission, tilting cargo bed, and selectable four-wheel drive, this MULE just got more comfortable and easier to use. The new EPS offers a more comfortable and controlled ride by reducing steering effort at low speeds and harnessing its electric motor’s inertia to dampen out most of the bump steer and kickback caused by impacts to the wheel. Electrically driven, the motor is controlled by an ECU that uses input from a vehicle speed sensor and torque sensor to determine the amount of assistance provided by the system. The system works immediately and doesn’t put a power drain on the engine. It operates as soon as the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position.

Transformable two or four-person utility vehicle customized to perform any task. Two years ago, Kawasaki introduced the first four-wheel drive off-road utility vehicle giving users the option of simply transforming it from a two-passenger unit to one that will carry four people, plus cargo. As successful as the MULE™ 3010 Trans4x4™ has been, the company’s dealer network suggested that a diesel version of this MULE model would quickly find a home amongst both personal and work-related users who needed the extra power and convenience of a diesel engine. It would also satisfy the farm and industrial situation where only diesel fuel is available. For the 2007 model year Kawasaki answers those requests once again, bringing back the flagship MULE to its growing utility vehicle product stable—the MULE™ 3010 Trans4x4™ DIESEL. This off-road dynamo that features a fully automatic transmission with two or four-wheel drive options, takes only a few minutes to convert from a two to a four-person ride. While the cargo payload expands from 400 to 800 pounds in the two-person configuration, users have the ability to select between cargo and personnel carrying needs, depending on the specific job-at-hand. This versatility, coupled with the legendary reputation of Kawasaki’s liquid-cooled, three cylinder diesel engine makes the MULE 3010 Trans4x4 DIESEL an immediate winner. The overhead valve design of the engine maximizes efficiency while the cast iron block and head ensure extra durability in all types of usage. Producing 38.3 ft. lbs. of torque @ 2,800 rpm, this unit has low-end pulling power to spare for the most rigorous of needs. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) is a highlight of the Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System (KAPS), which helps keep engine rpm in the most efficient range for any selected vehicle speed, load, or terrain. Strength and durability are aided by large torque converters which maximize belt engagement area, improving heat dissipation, as well as the use of a thick, strong drive belt.
