TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE – UNBEATABLE COMPONENTS The 999s is at the top of its class (with the exception of the pure racing versions) thanks to its engine performance and outstanding components. It features an especially powerful Testastretta engine that delivers a track-hungry 143 horsepower and a Corse-derived low sump crankcase for consistent oil feed even during full race conditions. The extra power is delivered in a smooth linear fashion to boost performance whether you are riding around hairpin bends halfway up a mountain or powering around a race track. Ducati’s considerable experience on circuits around the world can also be seen in the suspension: the front end features a TiN-treated 43 millimeter upside-down Öhlins fork with Teflon guides and top-out spring. The fork uses special bottoms for the radial-mounted, four-pad front brake calipers, ensuring maximum braking performance. At the rear end the Öhlins shock absorber, together with the box-sectioned rear swingarm, maximizes grip and the control system with one-way valve acts on the rebound damping, allowing complete separation between compression and rebound functions. The triple-bridge front brake calipers are radial-mounted with four pistons and four pads, and are used in combination with 4.5 millimeter thick discs, wide-mounted in order to ensure adequate cooling. The radial mount makes the caliper-fork mount assembly more rigid, thus improving braking system efficiency. The box-sectioned aluminum alloy rear swingarm (the same as the one on the 999R Factory race bike) gives the bike a more marked racing look and increases on-road grip thanks to its excellent rigidity/weight ratio. The five-position adjustable foot rests are fitted as standard, to further adapt the bike to rider preferences, as well as the adjustable Öhlins steering damper with special cam, which enables easier repositioning upon altering the headstock rake angle (from 23.5 degrees to 24.5 degrees). The motorcycle comes with a race kit that includes a complete Termignoni exhaust, an electronic control unit with race mapping and a carbon fiber silencer cover. Note: Only single-seat version of 999s available in North America.

PLEASE NOTE: CycleTrader's model number listing does not distinguish between the 999R and the 999R Xerox, but in 2005 there were no Xerox bikes made. This bike has the full red paint job, NOT the Xerox paint; see pictures.You are looking at an extremely rare bike! Ducati imported fewer than 300 of the 999R bikes in 2005 to meet racing homologation requirements. This bike is fully set up for racing: the 999R had a special engine (not just a souped-up version of the one from the 999/999S), full Ohlins suspension / brakes / steering damper, and full carbon fiber body work.On top of all that, I've added an STM slipper clutch and the Termignoni 57mm symmetric race exhaust, including the matching performance ECU to accommodate the extra breathing room. When we added the exhaust the bike pulled more than 150 horsepower on the dyno! (I've also added Pazzo racing levers; to me they are more comfortable than the stock levers.)This bike also has quite low mileage: 4432 on the odometer as I write this (see picture).Mechanically this bike is in perfect condition. It starts right up, runs and shifts smoothly, and has absolutely *no* issues. Cosmetically the bike is not perfect: there are a few scrapes on the bodywork that I've pictured below. These are purely cosmetic; there is neither cracking nor any kind of structural issue.If you're looking for an amazing, high-performance bike that is completely ready for the track or the street, look no further. 2005 Ducati 999R. Has 6,780 miles on her. Bike is clean in and out. All maintenance completed and non skipped. The major maintenance of replacing the Timing Belt was performed by Ducati Desmo at the Valley. Bike is flawless. Looks, rides and sounds great. This bike has an awesome engine. Sounds fantastic, smooth, manageable torque from about 3000 RPMs all the way up to red line, instantly responsive.Capable, rock-steady and stable through the corners. 8,157 miles. All maintenance and repair at Ducati Seattle or Eastside. Service records in hand. Marty Dahl of Ducati Seattle rebuilt the engine at 6,099 miles, including brand new clutch plates, so the new engine has just over 2,000 miles on it. Performance tuned on the dyno. Torquey, smooth throughout.The bike is in great shape. Engine spins right up effortlessly from a cold start. Shifters, gear box, brakes, handling are all perfect. Brand new battery. Termignoni exhaust and ECU. After-market rearsets. Tires are okay, but should be replaced soon.Street legal.It's a sad thing for me to sell it, but a happy thing for you. It turns out that there actually is such a thing as too many motorcycles. Maybe.Two black keys and a red key. Clean title.

Woodcraft clutch cover Ducati performance pressure plate + race springs Sargent seat OEM Service Manual Ducati performance anti vibration bar ends New battery March 2016 Fresh oil and Ducati Oil Filter June 2016 New Fork Seals May 2016 September 2016 - Bridgestone RS10 (100 miles on them - one track day) Service in August 2016 before Track Day (Rebuilt rear Brembo caliper, new coolant, inspect clutch - clean & inspect plates, inspect cam belts, service & clean air filter) The previous owner of this bike purchased it in 2007 from an owner in Connecticut with around 5000mi. At that time it was a road going, yellow 999M. In 2010, and with roughly 7000mi, it was converted to a track bike. The previous owner sold the street parts to try to recoup some of the money spent to make it a track bike. The wiring harness has not been cut, but the wires that would go to the lights have been unplugged and removed. The previous owner seemed to take good care of it. As far as track bikes go, this one is in really good shape, but you can see by the pictures that it has been used. It currently has Bridgestone RS10 (only one track day on them - around 100 miles). I'm selling the bike to purchase Ducati Streetfighter 848. I still have the original invoice. The bike cost $16k in 2004 and there is about $10k in modifications.I can send more pictures on request.PS: The stand in the picture is not included this sale.
