2006 Ducati Superbike 999, Clean, sharp looking bike. - A MODEL OF PERFORMANCE AND STYLE The press has called the Ducati 999 the best-ever twin cylinder engine (MotorCycle News, the leading European motorcycle magazine). A peek under the fairing shows just how advanced this motorcycle is and the design focuses on rider ergonomics, making maintenance simpler by reducing overall complexity and, above all, offering top-notch performance. The L-twin Testastretta engines are very compact, making the finished motorcycles incredibly narrow and agile, much like their racing cousins. They also offer excellent torque and remarkably vigorous power delivery compared to four-cylinder engines. Ducati Superbikes have incredible acceleration and provide outstanding riding thrills. All the Ducati Superbikes are equipped with L-twin ?Testastretta? engines. Testastretta cylinder head technology allows a unique layout of the cam-timing system that creates a reduced angle between the valves. The result is a clean, compact combustion chamber that is also highly efficient, with flat-crown pistons that provide a perfectly smooth, linear flame front. The special design of the heads, together with the cutting-edge electronic engine control system, guarantees optimal combustion throughout the rev range and makes for smooth, effective riding at all times. The standard version of the 999 pumps out 140 horsepower at 9,750 rpm and 11.1 kgm (80.3 ft.lbs.) of torque at 8,000 rpm with a smoothness that makes riding sheer pleasure. The Testastretta engine in the 999 has a piston stroke of 63.5 millimeter and a bore of 100 millimeter; the reduced stroke limits maximum piston speed allowing increased rpm's and improved overall reliability. An exclusive oil pump feeding system, built into the Corse low sump crankcase ensures maximum oil flow even during extreme cornering and hard acceleration out of corners. Suspension on the 999 is fully adjustable: the TiN-treated 43 millimeter upside-down Showa fork works together with the Showa rear shock absorber, pivoting on the aluminum alloy rear swingarm ? derived from the 999 Factory, winner of the 2004 World Superbike Championship.

2006 Ducati Superbike 999s, THIS BIKE IS SUPER CLEAN - TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE ? UNBEATABLE COMPONENTS The 999s is at the top of its class (with the exception of the pure racing versions) thanks to its engine performance and outstanding components. It features an especially powerful Testastretta engine that delivers a track-hungry 143 horsepower and a Corse-derived low sump crankcase for consistent oil feed even during full race conditions. The extra power is delivered in a smooth linear fashion to boost performance whether you are riding around hairpin bends halfway up a mountain or powering around a race track. Ducati?s considerable experience on circuits around the world can also be seen in the suspension: the front end features a TiN-treated 43 millimeter upside-down Öhlins fork with Teflon guides and top-out spring. The fork uses special bottoms for the radial-mounted, four-pad front brake calipers, ensuring maximum braking performance. At the rear end the Öhlins shock absorber, together with the box-sectioned rear swingarm, maximizes grip and the control system with one-way valve acts on the rebound damping, allowing complete separation between compression and rebound functions. The triple-bridge front brake calipers are radial-mounted with four pistons and four pads, and are used in combination with 4.5 millimeter thick discs, wide-mounted in order to ensure adequate cooling. The radial mount makes the caliper-fork mount assembly more rigid, thus improving braking system efficiency. The box-sectioned aluminum alloy rear swingarm (the same as the one on the 999R Factory race bike) gives the bike a more marked racing look and increases on-road grip thanks to its excellent rigidity/weight ratio. The five-position adjustable foot rests are fitted as standard, to further adapt the bike to rider preferences, as well as the adjustable Öhlins steering damper with special cam, which enables easier repositioning upon altering the headstock rake angle (from 23.5 degrees to 24.5 degrees). The motorcycle comes with a race kit that includes a complete Termignoni exhaust, an electronic control unit with race mapping and a carbon fiber silencer cover. 2006 Ducati Superbike 999, I am the sole owner of the 2006 999 BiPosto. I purchased her brand new in September 2006. Only I and one certified Ducati mechanic has ever ridden her. She has never been laid down and has never been tracked or abused. She did receive a scratch on her left side mirror and a small one on the top of the gas tank (unfortunate garage incident). The only issue I ever faced was with the fuel pump approximately 4 years ago, which I have since then replaced. New brake rotors and pads were recently added. The tires (Bridgestone) have only a couple hundred miles on them. 2006 Ducati 999 BiPosto with 14,191 miles. The following list of items are enhancements made: Termignoni half exhaust, Pazzo Racing black adjustable brake levers, Aftermarket smoked windscreen, Aftermarket clear front and rear turn lights. The following has been tastefully replaced with Carbon fiber: Front and rear fenders, Belt covers, Front and rear heal plates, Pipe cover, Air intake duct covers, Clutch cover, Fairing vent cover, Muffler cover on the tail. Additional items included in sale: Rear bike stand, 999 bike cover, 999 tank bag, & all stock parts shown in picture that were replaced with aftermarket or carbon fiber parts.
