PLEASE NOTE: CycleTrader's model number listing does not distinguish between the 999R and the 999R Xerox, but in 2005 there were no Xerox bikes made. This bike has the full red paint job, NOT the Xerox paint; see pictures.You are looking at an extremely rare bike! Ducati imported fewer than 300 of the 999R bikes in 2005 to meet racing homologation requirements. This bike is fully set up for racing: the 999R had a special engine (not just a souped-up version of the one from the 999/999S), full Ohlins suspension / brakes / steering damper, and full carbon fiber body work.On top of all that, I've added an STM slipper clutch and the Termignoni 57mm symmetric race exhaust, including the matching performance ECU to accommodate the extra breathing room. When we added the exhaust the bike pulled more than 150 horsepower on the dyno! (I've also added Pazzo racing levers; to me they are more comfortable than the stock levers.)This bike also has quite low mileage: 4432 on the odometer as I write this (see picture).Mechanically this bike is in perfect condition. It starts right up, runs and shifts smoothly, and has absolutely *no* issues. Cosmetically the bike is not perfect: there are a few scrapes on the bodywork that I've pictured below. These are purely cosmetic; there is neither cracking nor any kind of structural issue.If you're looking for an amazing, high-performance bike that is completely ready for the track or the street, look no further. 2005 Ducati 999R. Has 6,780 miles on her. Bike is clean in and out. All maintenance completed and non skipped. The major maintenance of replacing the Timing Belt was performed by Ducati Desmo at the Valley. Bike is flawless. Looks, rides and sounds great. And the sound of the dry clutch, distinct Ducati.I'd like to keep the bike but just haven't been able to have time to enjoy it. Great Starter Ducati!!!! This is a 2005 Ducati 999 Superbike, Start it up and it sounds like the little "beast" that it is. If you have never owned a Ducati before then you are in for a treat. This bike is very user friendly, unlike some of the higher CC Duc's out there. The torque on this is very nice in the lower band. However, when you get it in the higher RPM's look out, its say Ducati on it for a reason. Not a lot of wonky add-ons, excellent condition, very minor normal wear and tear nicks… never laid down. I just had the full service done at the Ducati dealership and it has brand new Pirelli Rossi 2 tires. I did have a modified tail light array added on…

It features an especially powerful Testastretta engine that delivers a track-hungry 143 horsepower and a Corse-derived low sump crankcase for consistent oil feed even during full race conditions. The extra power is delivered in a smooth linear fashion to boost performance whether you are riding around hairpin bends halfway up a mountain or powering around a race track. Ducati’s considerable experience on circuits around the world can also be seen in the suspension: the front end features a TiN-treated 43 millimeter upside-down Öhlins fork with Teflon guides and top-out spring. The fork uses special bottoms for the radial-mounted, four-pad front brake calipers, ensuring maximum braking performance. At the rear end the Öhlins shock absorber, together with the box-sectioned rear swingarm, maximizes grip and the control system with one-way valve acts on the rebound damping, allowing complete separation between compression and rebound functions. The triple-bridge front brake calipers are radial-mounted with four pistons and four pads, and are used in combination with 4.5 millimeter thick discs, wide-mounted in order to ensure adequate cooling. The radial mount makes the caliper-fork mount assembly more rigid, thus improving braking system efficiency. The box-sectioned aluminum alloy rear swingarm (the same as the one on the 999R Factory race bike) gives the bike a more marked racing look and increases on-road grip thanks to its excellent rigidity/weight ratio. The five-position adjustable foot rests are fitted as standard, to further adapt the bike to rider preferences, as well as the adjustable Öhlins steering damper with special cam, which enables easier repositioning upon altering the headstock rake angle (from 23.5 degrees to 24.5 degrees). The motorcycle comes with a race kit that includes a complete Termignoni exhaust, an electronic control unit with race mapping and a carbon fiber silencer cover.
