Take a look at this vintage airhead. I have kept it factory stock and have only improved certain items that enhance it's function or looks. Over the years of owning this beauty, I have collected and added some very rare, hard to find factory options that include hazard lights (it wasn't standard equipment!), cylinder crash bars, a trelock with keys, low handlebar option (I also include an additional factory high handlebar), a hand air pump, a fully stocked tool pouch, and a set of very nice, model-specific, touring hard cases with two sets of keys. The cases are in excellent shape, function flawlessly, and can fit a full-faced helmet in each bag. The hard cases come with BMW soft bags that are specific to these cases. Some improvements done to enhance are: added running lights on all four corners of the bike, the speedometer/tachometer/trip meter were cleaned up and serviced (by Palo Alto Speedometer), added a 120 mph speedo face (original only went to 90 mph), added two new Dunlop Spitfire tires (less than 500 miles on them), completed a top-end service that included new valves, seats, guides, and cylinder re-hone. I am including additional, hard-to-find parts for this bike: nose cone fairing and instrument panel (no longer available from BMW). I also include a good Metzler front tire as a spare. If you're looking for a well-cared for Beemer that will only increase in value, this is the one. Here's some info about LS: In 1982 in an effort to enhance the R65's image the Hans Muth designed R65LS was introduced. 6,389 R65LS bikes were produced, which featured a triangular shaped pod fairing and instrument housing versus the standard naked front end of the R65. Furthermore, a different rear seat featured pillion grab handles similar in style to the soon-to-be-introduced K Series BMWs. Different model transfers were used and the only colors were hennarot (red) and polaris (silver). Much of the chrome work of the R65 was replaced by black painted or black chrome features (exhaust piping, mufflers). Other features included: -Twin disc front brakes in-lieu of single disc -Lower front handlebars for a slightly more sporty seating position -Different alloy wheel pattern - on red models painted white -Different rear drum brake size -Black chrome mufflers and black painted exhaust pipes
