I bought the bike two years ago (for $2500). Since then, I have completely rebuilt the front fork shock absorber and replaced everything inside ($120). I put a new replica R50 gas tank (from WWII) ($250). I put electronic speedometer/odometer with RPM's ($220). In putTriumph headlights ($150). I replaced the windshield with a Triumph windshield ($150). I added Triumph mufflers ($180). I installed a heavy-duty battery ($110). I rebuilt both carburetors ($40). I checked the entire engine interior and replaced the piston rings and head gaskets (not necessary but I checked the engine and replaced). I installed a brand new alternator ($150). I installed new BMW electric regulator ($35). I replaced electrical cables ($20). I installed a Honda Nighthawk seat ($80). I cleaned the entire engine using aluminum acid and painted the engine and frame. The new seat is fine, but it could be welded for better support, but I don't have a welding machine. I installed new tail lights ($60) and turn-signals ($45) and LED fog lights ($55). I installed brand new Bridgestone tires ($140). Four rear leather vintage pouches ($185). Triumph foot protectors ($75). Brakes are still ok. Everything is fine with the bike. It was my project, but I am finished and am rebuilding another BMW. Thanks for looking.
