2016 Triumph Tiger 800 XCA, 2016 Triumph Tiger 800 XCA Equipped with traction control, switchable ABS, 3 Rider Modes, and a second generation 95PS 800cc triple engine with a seamless flow of torque, the Tiger 800 XCA goes further still. Standard equipment includes heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips, LED fog lamps, and an uprated 650W alternator complete with 3 auxiliary sockets that can power everything you need from heated clothing to GPS systems. It also features aluminium pannier rails making it ready to tour with the optional Expedition luggage set. The finely honed handling and ride are everything you would expect from a Triumph. The suspension features 43mm WP USD forks that have 220mm of front wheel travel and come with adjustable rebound and compression damping. The WP monoshock is adjustable for both preload and rebound and comes with a remote reservoir and delivers 215mm of wheel travel. Electronic Riding Modes Switch from road to off-road to rider programmable modes on the fly - and overcome the weather, the road and whatever nature can throw at you. 2014 Triumph Tiger 800 XC, 2014 Triumph Tiger 800 XC ABS We built the Tiger 800XC to be just like the Tiger 800, but with a little bit more Using the rugged Tiger 800 as a starting point, we added a pack of special off-road equipment so you can keep on going when you run out of tarmac. The three-cylinder engine is the same 800cc triple found in the Tiger 800 so it s got loads of torque and muscular power. And the tough steel frame and long distance fuel range are from the Tiger 800 too. The added XC is what gives you the next-level off-road ability. This is a hard-core bike that you can cross continents on, whether or not there are roads going in that direction. Just load it up and go. Standard Features May Include: Suspension The suspension travel for the Tiger 800XC is a huge 220mm at the front, 215mm at the rear. Just what you need on poor condition trails. We fitted 45mm Showa upside down forks along with a preload and rebound adjustable Showa monoshock so you can adjust for either off or on-road riding. Brakes We needed to give you enough stopping force on the road without being too sharp or intimidating in the dirt. So at the front of the Tiger 800XC is a pair of two-piston sliding callipers and 308mm discs, with a single-piston calliper at the rear and a 255mm disc. ABS is standard but this can be switched off for off-road riding where you might want to be able to lock up a wheel. Wheels We added spoked wheels to the Tiger 800XC for better cushioning on rough terrain. The front is a big 21inch diameter to take dedicated off-road tyres and cope with holes and ridges. And the front mudguard is higher so that clogging mud won t spoil your ride. Riding Position We built the Tiger 800XC to have genuine off-road capability, so it s tall with an upright and very spacious riding position. We made the bars wider than the standard Tiger 800s to give you extra manoeuvrability and the seat is lofty, although it's easily adjusted without the need for tools. Despite your high up stance the screen does a great job of fending off the wind pressure so you can stay at motorway speeds for as long as you need. We even gave your passenger plenty of room, chunky grab handles and well positioned footrests so long distances are no less comfortable on the back than they are for you. Frame As you d expect the Tiger 800XC uses the same tubular steel trellis frame as the Tiger 800 so you know it s strong enough to take the knocks during serious off road use. The rear subframe is the same, designed to take our capacious panniers and big top box, plus a passenger, then go places where pure road bikes daren't venture. Exploring new roads, even new countries and not stopping just because the road does. But we made the Tiger Explorer for every rider that wants rugged dependability, long distance comfort, a powerful and torquey engine with an extended fuel range, fine handling and the ability to cope with unmade roads. And we didn t stop there. We added high levels of sophisticated equipment, including ABS, traction control and cruise control along with the special character that comes with a Triumph three cylinder engine, and handling so natural and easy the bike is just as much at home in town as on the tundra. Features May Include: PERFORMANCE LWe gave the Explorer a 1215cc three-cylinder engine. Built with the latest technology to be strong, dependable and have the low maintenance levels you need on long adventures. It has plenty of power and torque with a hefty 137PS at 9300rpm, and 121Nm at just 6400rpm. Useable torque low down in the rev range where you need it most. RIDE-BY-WIRE The fuel injection is controlled by a ride-by-wire throttle system using computer control to give you the torque you need in the most efficient, predictable way. DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMS Double overhead camshafts operate the four valves per cylinder for an engine that does what it was made to do even when the bike is fully loaded with rider, passenger, a full complement of luggage and facing a steep mountain climb. SHAFT DRIVE We designed a rugged transmission comprising of a strong six-speed gearbox and an exceptionally tough shaft final drive. This gives you smooth power delivery yet is capable of dealing with the shocks and knocks it can face off-road. And, it hardly needs any maintenance, so you can get on with your ride without worrying about it. FRAME We built the tubular steel frame of the Tiger Explorer in the same style as other Triumphs. But it's made extra tough to deal with the stresses of off-road riding and on the road too, where you can load the Tiger Explorer heavily and still ride at high speeds or on badly maintained back roads in full control and comfort. SUSPENSION The suspension on the Tiger Explorer is built to cope with any kind of riding condition. We used tough 46mm forks at the front with an extended 190mm of travel, ideal for rough roads and long distance comfort. And at the rear, the single shock provides 194mm of travel and features a hydraulic remote preload adjuster and adjustable rebound damping. Selecting between three different Riding Modes, ROAD, OFF-ROAD and programmable RIDER MODE, you can configure your preferred throttle map, ABS and Triumph Traction Control, for a completely tailored and thrilling adventure ride. The dedicated Trip Computer and the Cruise Control enable you to amass miles with complete confidence. The off-road soul of the bike is emphasized by the adventure pack including hand guards, aluminium sump guard, centre stand, additional power socket and engine protection bars. Features May Include: ADVANCED ABS The XCx adds a more advanced ABS system that can be changed between ROAD, OFF-ROAD, and OFF. When the Off-Road mode is selected, the ABS is disabled to the rear wheel and the system also allows a level of front wheel slip. This provides the rider with a level of electronic intervention under braking whilst optimizing their off road enjoyment. TRACTION CONTROL The higher specification XCx has traction control that can be configured to Road, Off-Road, or Off settings. In the Off-Road mode, the traction control system allows increased rear wheel slip compared to the Road mode. Riders can configure their traction control preferences in conjunction with the 3 Rider Mode settings. THROTTLE MAPS With a choice of 4 different throttle maps, riders can select the optimum setting to meet both riding and weather conditions. The throttle maps can easily be changed between Rain, Road, Sport, or Off-Road via the switch cube to provide greater levels of control to meet changing conditions. 3 RIDING MODES On the XCx, riders can very simply configure the bike to the terrain with the choice of 3 Rider Modes. This automatically configures the ABS, Traction Control, and Throttle Maps to best tackle the route ahead. With a choice of ROAD, OFF-ROAD, or PROGRAMMABLE RIDER MODE, all of the electronic safety devices are optimized for the conditions. The PROGRAMMABLE RIDER MODE is fully configurable and allows the rider to select their chosen settings for ABS, Traction Control, and a choice of 4 x Throttle Maps independently. TRIPLE ENGINE The new Tiger features a liquid-cooled, 800cc in-line-three cylinder engine, delivering 95PS and 79Nm of torque for power across the entire rev range and the distinctive Triumph triple sound and character.
