Keeping our ears to the dirt has been critically important over the years, and we've been picking up some seriously strong vibrations ever since we built the world's first modern four-stroke motocrosser. Making improvements is how we continue to evolve a tighter, quicker, easier-to-deploy package. Upgrades for 2004 consist of a rigid 48mm fork with new settings for a smooth, compliant and progressive feel. New, titanium footpegs and gripper-style seat cover material improve the crucial interface between man and machine -- and man, what a machine: 222 pounds of high-tensile steel-framed, loam-launching, terrain-following, thrill-seeking motocross machine. Yamaha-exclusive five titanium valve head (three intake, two exhaust) reduces reciprocating mass and helps make 11,000 rpm a regularly recurring event. Bringing a 95mm piston to life against 12.5:1 compression can be hard work; YZ450F's genius auto-decompression system and hot start lever make it quite easy. The YZ450F's high-revving counterbalanced 449cc liquid-cooled five-titanium valved 39mm Keihin-carbureted single is pure moto winning magic. And four speeds are plenty, given the YZ450F's seismic spread of power -- and a heavy-duty clutch that gets the power to the ground consistently.

Only a few short rides on a completely rebuilt engine from crankshaft to camshafts performed by Thumper Racing (have receipt for $2k rebuild). Only a limited number were brought to the United States. It hurts me to even list this bike but I found a house I want to buy and need 20% down asap, so its either sell this or my new dirtbike. I have another streetbike for sale and if that sells first I am going to keep the KTM, so I have the right to end this listing at any time. This bike is showroom new with no visible wear anywhere. The bike has a $2300.00 aftermarket carbon fiber dual exhaust system that was installed by the dealer. The entire exhaust system was also sent out and ceramic coated. The bike sounds amazing and gets attention everywhere. The cdi was updated, the bike de-restricted, jetted and put on a dyno to tune all by the dealer. Aftermarket rear signals and a tail tuck kit. Bar end mirrors. All stock parts available. New battery for this year. The bike runs 100% perfect. With only 800 miles, everything is like new. The bike was in the dealer this summer for a 600 mile break-in checkup. The bike is way over 100hp, super light and a joy to ride. Will out run any sport bike in the turns and cruises with no effort on the highway. Very comfortable on the highway. The bike has been geared down slightly for my riding conditions. 2004 Yamaha Yz450 , Up for sale an excellent motorcross dirt bike. I recently bought this four stroke bike to trail ride with my son, but at 45 years old it's just too much bike for. I was looking for a TTR or CRF 230 but landed on this one, back to the drawing board. We took the bike out to Gulches park yesterday and rode it for about three hours and it performed flawlessly. Very very fast and capable bike. In August it had the engine completely rebuilt along with front and rear wheel bearings, front fork seals, rebuilt the carburetor, and balanced crank over $1,100 in work- see receipt. Essentially mechanically its a new bike. Some marks on the plastic, may come off with a little scrubbing??? Tires are in very good shape. Now the bad, one of the radiators has a small pin leak and drips a little coolant. I have two radiators that I purchased, I just haven't put it on yet-10 minute project, two bolts and 3 clamps. It rode for three hours this weekend and it was still full at the end so it really does drip slowly.
