This is an outstanding example of the legendary Vincent Black Shadow. These bikes are always included in the top 3 , iconic British classics. This bike has all correct serial numbers ( F10AB/1B/4257: engine and RC6157B: frame). Frame numbers are in two locations; and MUST match. Note also that the engine and frame numbers MUST be 1900 difference---otherwise it' a "composite" rebuild (or fake). Major casting numbers MUST match as well. This bike is GG35 (see photos). Bike has original, correct carbs series 289--including the front brass carb (Vincent only). Ignition is via ultra rare KVFTT, manual advance, unit; driving an ultra rare RC 115 tach (with YELLOW GRAPHICS)-- as on BLACK LIGHTNING race bikes (only 33 made). Bike has modern Alton 12v alternator* and modern V3 multiplate clutch* Modern centerstand. Has special breather system (totally effective). It is now tucked away so as to be less visible (as in photos)). --- not so "busy" looking. ( as one well-known reviewer mentioned). Current seat is a bit off stock; but a correct one is now being recovered . If you know Vincents you know what I mean. Original Tool Kit is present; but just a few tools missing; as is usual. Also fitted is a special OIL SYSTEM (don't trust original one). It has (1): Green LED light indicator for ON/OFF; and (2) an electrical INTERLOCK to prevent starting if oil is off (essentially a magneto "kill circuit". In fact I use it to shut off the bike; rather than the handle-bar kill button The original carbs are in near new condition; so I have always run with them. Bike has approx. 650 miles since rebuild. Bike has been VERIFIED AUTHENTIC by VINCENT OWNERS CLUB: (1) factory build sheet (2) factory test sheet: (3) import documents. It is "the real deal". Several hundred spares included. *Original KVF mag (like new); and modern BTH electronic mag included * Original Miller 6v generator included. *Front "cowls (mag covers) included So; bike could be converted back to Concourse Condition if desired (+ a bit of extra mods to your taste). Serious bidders know what Black Shadows have sold for recently at Major Auctions, recently---so bid according. I will consider "reasonable offers", naturally! In all honesty I feel it comparable to Shadows recently sold--you are the judge . For addition info please contact me at 719-748-3011 (Mountain Time Zone USA); or [email protected].

1947 HRD VINCENT SERIES B RAPIDE. I purchase this bike at a Bonhams auction outside of London approx. 4 years ago. The following is the description by Bonhams auction house. "FYG 413 was bought as a matching UFM and RFM from a dealer as the basis of a project and was initially verified by the VOC, though the UFM number stamping may be doubtful. The machine was initially built using the engine 929 from Vincent's ISDT bike, KAR 223, recently auctioned by Bonhams. A 'regardless of cost' restoration was carried out with Brampton forks rebuilt by Ray Daniels, the correct Miller headlight and Alton alternator. Central Wheel Components built the English chrome wheels with the correct 20" front and 19" rear rims linked by stainless spokes and ribbed brake drums, with period brake plates with no water excluders. Alloy 'guards were specified with a Koni rear damper. The ignition is by Lucas KVF magneto with a conversion to slack-wire advance system by Barry Basset. The tank was checked, painted and HRD-lined, with a new seat and tool-box assembly. After the return to the ISDT machine of its original engine, 335, a 1947 twin, was installed. From a Rapide exported to Canada, this engine was fitted to a Norvin built between 1957-60 by one Pat Heardley of Montreal who worked for the Atomic Energy Corporation and had access to special tools and re-finishing equipment. Equipped with 32mm GP Dellortos, 10:1 pistons, special cams and all surfaces anti-friction coated, it was used very successfully for racing by VOC member Dave West at Mosport, Shannonville and Nelson Ledges. For installation in FYG 413, it was enlarged to 1,116cc capacity with 32mm Mark 1 Concentric carbs, Suzuki pistons and flywheels polished and balanced trued to zero run-out. These were balanced by Ken Roseover, a works engineer for Bombardier/Can-Am. A multiple-plate clutch is fitted, alongside a custom wide clutch-cover. Two big-port heads are fitted with oversize valves, titanium valve-collets and stainless pushrod covers and gland nuts. The crankcases were vapour-blasted and polished and the cylinder muffs were machined from solid billet stock by Trevor Southall. The cost for the UK rebuild of this engine, whose performance is described by the vendor as 'simply awesome', was over £6,000, including the machining for the supplied Gosset electric starter. FYG 413 has a V5C, current MOT and Road Tax (free). The engine history, bills for the rebuild and a rebuild CD are included. A 'state of the art' Vincent." To simply, this is a non matching numbers bike. The performance of the machine is greater than that of a standard Rapide and may be greater then a Black Shadow. The electric starter is not installed. I will supply all that is needed to install the starter motor if you wish to do so. 12 volt system . I have always started the bike the traditional way . It is indeed a thrilling machine to ride. I have installed the 150 MPH speedo , a correct 120 mph is available. Only one will go with the bike the other will be sold separate. The new owner may select which one they prefer. A few spares will go with the machine. The bike does leak some oil. There are some small dings in the rear fender. Also a ding /dent in front fender just ahead of the engine.. If you must have perfection, replacement fenders are available from at least one vendor in the USA. The observant buyer will notice the shift lever has a metal pad instead of a metal peg with rubber cover. I will supply the peg and rubber boot. The bike is pictured with stacks on the carbs. I use filters on it and they are fitted and it will be delivered that way. On the first start up of the day you will have to free the clutch plates-( will explain how this is done in a video) I will also supply a start up video . I would prefer to teach you in person. If you do not understand what the term "Slack Wire" means, it means that this bike has a manual advance control lever on the handle bar. If you are not experienced with such another lesson will be offered. Since this machine was purchased from The United Kingdom , I have copies of its registration papers available if it needs to go back across the pond. I have a clear State of Florida title in hand. I will accept a deposit via pay pal . The balance must be paid via wire transfer or certified funds. The bike will be released when the funds clear. ok to email questions or call 727239twoninethreetwo. No calls after 9PM please. Located near Tampa Florida Posted additional pictures. To answer some questions. Yes it has matching case halves (picture posted-not easy to take a picture of this). Someone wanted to know if the starter was difficult to install ? A complete installation book will be provided along with the few parts required to put in place. Or you can continue to start it the standard way. I have put approx. 2000 miles on it . There was less than 1000 miles on the motor when I bought it. A deposit of $1000.00 via pay pal due within 24 hours of end oauction.
