2005 KTM 625 SMC SuperMoto (SUMO) Street Legal - California A phenomenal bike. KTM 625 SMC Supermoto says it all. It's a street-legal bike, passing one of the most stringent California DMV requirements. It was last serviced at an authorized KTM dealer, GP Motorcycles, in San Diego, CA on 1/23/2016. Clean title. I have too many vehicles (7 bikes and 3 cars) all for myself. It just gets way too much to maintain. Sale is final and as-is. Ask questions before bidding or committing to purchase. No newcomer to single-cylinder streetbikes, KTM has offered a variety of dual-sport machines since 1994 and its supermoto-inspired Duke range since '96. But it wasn't until '04 that the Austrian firm introduced a proper streetlegal supermoto model. Essentially an RXC dual-sport with 17-inch street tires, a larger-diameter front brake rotor and dual underseat mufflers, the 625 SMC is based on the 50-horsepower LC4 engine that's powered KTM thumpers since the late '80s. As such, it's a generation behind the latest KTM Racing four-strokes, and it feels likeit. Mind you, those bikes aren't street-legal. In a word, the KTM is different. Riders coming from European iron will feel right at home, but those coming from Japanese hardware will find the bike rather peculiar. Start with the switchgear: The left-side handlebar cluster has two rocker switches, the lower one activating the turn signals and the upper one the headlight; confuse the two and you could find yourself riding in pitch black. Further complicating matters are the two buttons on the backside of the upper switch, one actuating the horn and the other killing the engine. Again, you do not want to confuse the two. The enduro-derived instrumentation also takes some getting used to. Although the KTM has a left-side kickstarter, it also has an "electric leg"-so you'll only have to kick it if you kill the battery. Quaintly carbureted rather than fuel injected, it still has a manual choke lever and a petcock. Remember those? Toggle the kill switch to Run, push the starter button and the engine turns over a few times before settling into a coarse idle. Owing to the lean EPA jetting in the 41mm Keihin carb, the 625cc SOHC single is exceedingly cold-blooded. We had to raise the idle rpm while the engine was cold and then lower it after it warmed. With its hydraulically actuated clutch and strong low-end power, the 625 lunges from a standstill; take care not to give it too much throttle unless you want to wheelie. Throttle response is generally good, but it's a bit sluggish at low rpm and there's a noticeable flat spot in the midrange. Raising the carburetor needle by lowering the clip one position helped some. The large gaps between gears are obvious at every upshift, a side effect of the five-speed transmission and tall final gearing. An overdrive sixth would be nice, but that would mean narrower, weaker gears and/or wider crankcases, neither of which would be acceptable. Counterbalancer or no, the LC4 is a shaker, the vibes worsening right about the time it starts to make good power. Extended freeway cruising will shake loose change from your pockets, the contacts out of your eyes and possibly the fillings from your teeth. The upright seating position is roomy, but the suspension is stiff and the saddle hard; extended romps will make you feel like you just got back from Brokeback Mountain. With its wire wheels shod with aggressive Pirelli MT60 tires, the KTM handles well on street and dirt, its light steering seemingly contradicting its stable overall feel. Our main performance complaint had to do with excessive engine braking, which made the rear tire chatter during downshifts and when backing it into corners; a little clutch slippage works wonders here. The 625 comes standard with a quality Magura tapered handlebar and black plastic handguards that help ward off car mirrors and protect the levers in tipovers. And given the sorts of antics the SMC invites, you will tip over. License plate notwithstanding, it is a dirtbike, after all. read more at: motorcyclistonline dot COM /motorcycles/122_0607_ktm_625_smc_suzuki_dr_z400sm_street_legal_supermoto_bikes/viewall.html

1971 Moto Guzzi SFPD AMBASSADOR 750 The Ambassador started out as a San Francisco police motorcycle. My nephew purchased the bike in the mid-seventies and rode it throughout the eighties and nineties. I bought it from him in 1998 and began restoration. I disassembled the bike and had parts re-plated, polished, re-painted, re-wired, or replaced. * Dave Blue of Blue's Cycle Service in Vancouver, Washington rebuilt the motor and transmission and reassembled the motorcycle. * Mark Etheridge of Moto Guzzi Classics did the paint. * Moe Moore of Cycle Garden provided the wire loom. Restoration was completed in 1999. Major awards and recognition includes: *Best of Show at the 1999 MGNOC National Rally held in Sipapu, New Mexico. *Featured Moto Guzzi at the 1999 International Bike Show held in Seattle, Washington. *Best of Show at the 2000 OVM (Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists) Bike Show & Swap Meet held in *Corvallis, Oregon. *Best Loop Frame at the 2014 Oregon Moto Guzzi Owners Club State Rally held in Odell, Oregon. *Best of Show at the 2015 Portland Moto Guzzi/Aprilia Bike Show & Swap Meet in Portland, Oregon. This Ambassador was originally purchased and used by the San Francisco Police motorcycle squadron. In the '70's Guzzi customized a version of the 750 Ambassador for the US Police Departments with Police accruements like siren, custom dash & controls, special saddles, saddle bags, wiring & gauges, and some other nice upgrades and modifications not available on the standard Ambassador being sold to the public. Before the Police Departments auctioned off motorcycles, they typically had to remove the siren and radio and police gear. One tell-tale sign that these bikes can be traced back to their history of law enforcement service; the ground down siren mount is still identifiable (which can be seen in the picture above). All motorcycle operational upgrades remain with the bike. In fact, the original police saddle bags for this particular bike are available. The '70's Loop Frame Police Editions are one of the most sought after classic Moto Guzzi motorcycles. The Ambassador has roughly 2,600 miles on the rebuild. The odometer indicates 20,454 total miles (=120,454). The bike runs excellent and can be an everyday ride. This black beauty has been meticulously maintained and cared for; and ridden judiciously. Gary rode this bike at the 1999 MGNOC National Rally held in Sipapu, New Mexico where the 28 year old Ambassador won the Best of Show over hundreds of other Moto Guzzi models from around the country. 2016 Harley-Davidson XL1200X - Sportster Forty-Eight, 2016 Harley-Davidson® Sportster® Forty-Eight® The redesigned 2016 Forty-Eight® motorcycle comes at you with more low-slung Dark Custom attitude than ever, from its fat front end to its new cast aluminum wheels. We didn t rebuild it. We reloaded it. The first time the world saw this gas tank was 1948. But the world has never seen that iconic tank sitting atop anything quite like this. The Forty-Eight® motorcycle has been reborn. Everything that was great about it has been cranked up to a more intense level. Better seat. Better suspension. New lightweight mag wheels. Awesome brakes. And now the tank is sporting 70 s inspired graphics. Welcome to the next page of history written in Dark Custom iron. Features May Include: Authentic Styling When the first Sportster motorcycle roared onto the scene in 1957 the world had never seen anything like it. Rawboned, powerful and looking for action. The styling cues that lit up the street in those early years would soon become a part of everything from race bikes to outlaw choppers as they spread throughout the motorcycling world. Take a look at the offering for 2016 and one thing becomes instantly clear. The best way to get the style that made the Sportster motorcycle famous is to get a Sportster motorcycle of your own. The narrow frame is more agile than ever. The rumbling V-Twin and muscular front end feel more powerful than ever. The flawless steel and jewel-like fuel tank reveal their authentic American motorcycle roots in every inch of detail. Iconic Engine The Evolution engine riding in the nimble Sportster frame is a prime example of the power, durability and proven reliability The Motor Company was built on. Born from the legendary Shovelhead and Ironhead engines, it s been the power at the center of a Sportster motorcycle since 1984. Its overhead valve design and four-cam gear train have their roots in the company s race program, and you know it when you feel the surge of brute torque that accompanies every twist of the throttle. The air-cooled V-Twin design with a compact one-piece crankcase/transmission fits the narrow Sportster profile like a fist in a fingerless glove. We began with a strong, trouble-free design. Then gave it constant refinement to bring us to the modern powerplant of today. A testament to the unwavering hunger for advancement in motor technology that has always driven Harley-Davidson. Technology What the eye sees and the rider feels on a Sportster motorcycle goes deep beneath the surface. Which is where you ll find some our latest technology hard at work. The immaculate styling is due in part to an integrated electrical system that reduces wiring harnesses, switches, relays and fuses. The new seats throughout the Sportster line are built out of 21st century materials to feel plush and look minimalist

Motorcycles Street / Supermoto DX558861449477710252299 DX1 . the ground clearance of the latter is only 30.3 in (770 mm) and if you add to this the? exceptionally low kerb weight of? 438 lbs. There are new piston cooling oil jets with check valve and flow management. With this application downloadable free from the App Store and Google Play your smartphone (iPhone or Android) becomes an actual sophisticated on board multifunctional computer and the link between the vehicle and the Internet. The? ? Eco Ride? ? feature helps to limit fuel consumption and to maintain eco-compatible riding conduct providing a brief assessment of the results obtained during the trip. the V9 Bobber also differs from the V9 Roamer with its more crouched and sporty riding position due to the? low? drag bar painted black and the long saddle. In the upper part of the engine ? the thermodynamics are completely new. Indeed the Norge GT of 1928 was the first motorcycle with a "spring frame" equipped with front and rear suspension bringing enormous advantages in terms of safety and riding pleasure. At the rear a pump with integrated tank activates a 260 mm disc and a two-piston floating calliper.? ? EQUIPMENT: ALL FOR SAFETY AND RIDING PLEASURE Like all recent Moto Guzzi the V9 also has a full set of advanced electronic systems placed very discreetly inside the vehicle making riding safer and easier. the exhaust unit mirrors and both metal? mudguards? are painted in dark matt. the alternator cover is also new and now includes the blow-by gas output. the oil pump suction pipe is new as is the bypass valve. Following this style the V9 Bobber abandons all chrome plating and glossy finishes for matt black details. the electronic engine control unit is new. Its cubic capacity is provided by bore and stroke values of 84x77 mm. ? In addition the entire structure benefited from? care and finishing of the details including welding and painting.? the suspension is also new ? using traditional long-travel (130 mm) inverted forks and a new pair of spring preload adjustable shock absorbers connected to the frame which provide a gradual and controlled response at all times. The? limit thresholds? can be set both for lean angle as well as vehicle and engine speed. the V9 is the latest jewel from Moto Guzzi for riding pleasure and effectiveness. the wireless connection allows you to simultaneously view a set of vehicle information on a smartphone screen so you can constantly have an eye on the travel parameters. Other standard features include an? immobilizer? and? USB port? located under the steering head useful for charging external devices. A spirit that with every choice proudly states: I am what I am. MG-MP includes the? ? Grip Warning? ? function which replicates the indications on traction control operation for maximum visibility and provides information in real time on your riding performance with relation to the road surface conditions. You can? record trip data? and review them on your computer or directly on your smartphone analysing the distance covered together with the vehicle's operating parameters. Indeed the V9 Bobber is a true Moto Guzzi and as such does not trade rideability for beauty. the mudguard has been carefully shortened and reduced in size to make a big contribution to the minimal look of the V9 Bobber as well as housing a very compact optical unit. On the back of this tradition Moto Guzzi now builds motorcycles like the V7 II and the fleet of the big 1400s which are real benchmarks in terms of handling in their respective segments. This is of course a 90? transverse V-twin air and oil cooled engine a set-up used in all current Moto Guzzi engines albeit with different engine capacities and performance which provides excellent riding dynamics and a unique sound. the final transmission is carried out by a new? double-jointed drive shaft offset by the increased size? and the new bevel gear which provides solid and reliable management of the powerful torque supplied by the twin engine. Starting from the bottom of the engine the? new? aluminium? crankcase? stiffened at the key points has a new oil pan and an inertia calibrated crankshaft for liveliness and the correct engine braking. In terms of custom motorcycles we should really mention the California which in 1970 under the name V7 Police was bought by the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) after a series of tough tests. the smartphone's touch screen? allows you to view five parameters of your choice at a time selected? from a vast menu and including the speedometer rev counter instant power instant torque instant and average fuel consumption average speed and battery voltage longitudinal acceleration and extended trip computer. Moto Guzzi's custom sports bike effectively creates the mid-size bobber series segment in which the V9 ??is currently the only representative. the cast aluminum? swingarm? has been designed and sized to support engine performance as well as to accommodate the new 150 mm tire. Thanks to the synergistic use of gyroscopes and the information coming from the vehicle the smartphone becomes a sophisticated instrument to measure the lean angle in turns thanks to algorithms developed specifically for the new Moto Guzzi. Bobbers appeared in the United States after World War II created by passionate riders who stripped away all details superfluous to their goal of running fast on dirt tracks. The? 16-inch? matt black? rims? are finely decorated with a grey Moto Guzzi logo and fit larger tyres (130/90 front 150/80 rear). This increases robustness and reliability over time and decreases the load on the handlebar lever for better controllability and riding comfort.? the six-speed gearbox is new ? precise and with a soft clutch which benefits from unprecedented ratios that make the most of the torque and engine power. the Moto Guzzi tradition is replete with models recognized for their excellent ride qualities. the fuel supply uses a one-piece Marelli electronic injection system. A spirit that brooks no compromise. The? new? steel twin tube cradle? frame? creates optimal weight distribution on the front and rear of the engine thereby providing the rideability and dynamic balance typical of all motorcycles built at Mandello del Lario. Inside the? lubrication system? is designed to dispose of the greater heat capacity and reduce power absorption to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. the side panels and fuel tank are pitch black with just a few graphic details in yellow or matt red. Even with these spectacular tyres and its distinctive design the bike still provides exceptional riding pleasure and handling. the speedometer has an analogue dial while all other information is contained in the digital box: odometer partial trip and daily trip (with automatic reset after eight hours after shutdown) the trip time instantaneous and average fuel consumption clock outside temperature average speed MGCT level in addition to the gear position and shift indicator whose idle and maximum value can be adjusted by the user. the unit is capable of 45.7 ft lb (62 Nm) of torque at just 3 000 revs/min with a maximum power of 55 HP at 6 250 r/min figures ??that show Moto Guzzi's commitment to achieving high levels of torque even at low rpms.? This engine boasts surprising a character and responsiveness which contribute to a really exciting riding experience.? ? ? Another innovative aspect of the 850 Moto Guzzi engine is the? 170 mm diameter single dry plate clutch providing a perfect transmission of torque and power with no jerkiness or hesitation. the designers paid special attention to the front which has gussets in the steering head and new slope and trail abilities making for a superb ride with the perfect combination of handling and stability as well as precision and feeling. the V9 is just that: authentic in every design detail; authentic in its use of strong and high-quality materials such as steel and aluminum and in the choice of prestigious components; authentic in the agility with which it reacts to your riding; and authentic in the exciting torque of the new 850cc engine.? the name V9 Bobber evokes concepts such as? essentiality? of line ? purity of design? and thus a certain original sportiness underlined by a? total matt black? look. NEW 850 TWIN-CYLINDER MOTO GUZZI ENGINE the V9 Roamer and the V9 Bobber have a new power unit as usual built at the Moto Guzzi plant in Mandello del Largo. Distribution is controlled by a pushrod system and there are two valves per cylinder set at an incline in the head (and no longer parallel as on the V7 II engine). In this way the rider can keep a check on a determined range of engine revolutions for example during the run-in or to minimize fuel consumption. Aluminum heads pistons and cylinders are designed to make the most of the engine's characteristics. It was developed with? the explicit aim of maximizing torque and elasticity key aspects for ensuring riding pleasure and on road fun. the ventilation system reduces power loss due to pumping within the crank chambers and a new low flow oil pump that absorbs less power. the motorcycles come with a standard advanced? two-channel ABS non-invasive in normal riding but that prevent the wheels from locking when really needed and the well-known MGCT (Moto Guzzi Traction Control) Moto Guzzi's advanced traction control integrated with the electronic engine management system and adjustable in two different levels of operation and that are deactivable ensuring better grip of the rear tire on any road surface reducing engine torque if necessary through a reduction of the advance of the engine. A dedicated indicator light warns in the event of excessive use of available grip. When these limits are exceeded the relative indicator lights will come on or the virtual dashboard will flash. ? the system also allows you to? easily locate your vehicle? when you park in a strange place automatically saving the position where it was switched off. The? new electronic instrumentation with a single circular dial is also consistent with the style of the two the V9s. Of note is the presence in the entrance heads of the auxiliary air system which combined with the three-way catalytic converter the double oxygen sensor and the total redesign of the engine bring the twin 850 Moto Guzzi into compliance with EU4 standards. (199 Kg) you can easily imagine the level of comfort control and rider pleasure offered by the V9 Bobber. ? MOTO GUZZI MEDIA PLATFORM CONNECTS the V9 TO the WORLD An optional multimedia platform is available for Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber riders.? MG-MP? is an innovative? multimedia system that allows you to connect the bike to your smartphone and consequently to the web. 2017 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber the V9 is the new incarnation of the purest spirit of Moto Guzzi. the extensive catalogue of accessories includes the? MG-MP the Moto Guzzi multimedia platform that connects a smartphone to the vehicle to provide an exceptional quantity of information useful for the journey. the braking system is dedicated to the V9: the forecarriage has a new pump and Brembo opposed four-piston callipers against a 320 mm steel disc. To compete in these conditions the riders used to mount oversized tyres giving the bikes a wide footprint. CHASSIS ARCHITECTURE: the QUALITY OF the MOTO GUZZI TRADITION Carlo Guzzi was probably the first person to grasp the importance of a frame able to exploit the full potential of the engine and a suspension unit that responds perfectly to the imperfections in the road surface...

Clear title in hand.
