For sale is this one of a kind 1998 Buell S1WL. The bike was customized during the years to become a perfect driving machine. Thanks to the Ohlins front suspensions fully adjustable, paired with an Ohlins rear shock made exclusively for this bike. Brake system is composed of Brembo mono block front calipers and Brembo rear caliper. Brembo front pump will activate the front brake system. Both front and rear disks are wave and in great shape. Wheels are aluminum OZ Racing derived from a Benelli Tornado Limited Edition. Rubbers are in like new condition. The motor was always well maintained and serviced and runs very strong. It has a 42 Mikuni polished carburetor paired with a beautiful velocity stack and a Force Performance exhaust. The transmission was recently upgraded with a new Rizoma rear pulley. Many other upgrades make this bike top of the line. New battery and new tire. The bike has just few bubbles in tank caused by wheather, and a few scratches on the front fender. I have no more time to ride this beauty, so I decided it is time for me to part ways from it. Only serious inquiry, bike is located in Miami Beach. Local pick up only.

If you've been looking for an unmolested 1996-1998 Buell S1 Lightning that has plenty of life left, you've found it. These are getting harder to find. There were only 5000 made during those three years. This one is billet metallic and even more rare. More and more, when you do find these, they've been chopped or have had some silly mods done to them. Back story: I'm the third owner. The guy I purchased the bike from is a master mechanic who worked at Harley Davidson for years. He said that he purchased it from an older guy who used it to tool around the back roads. The top end of the motor was completely rebuilt by the previous owner, to include new pistons and rings. It has the Vance and Hines SSR2 muffler. The carburetor has a DynoJet kit, and the motor was dyno tuned. It runs very strong. The previous owner says it runs better and stronger than when it was stock. He is right. It leaks no oil, nor uses any. Condition: It's an 18 year old bike. It has nicks and scratches on par with a bike its age; however, it's obvious that it was well cared for. The clutch is strong and it shifts with no problems. Finding neutral can be an issue with these transmissions, but this one doesn't seem to have that problem. The bike is light and has lots of torque, which makes for a fun combination. The exhaust is loud, but is not crazy loud. I recently rode with a group of guys and some behind be were making comments like, "THAT BIKE SOUNDS AWESOME!" and "THAT EXHAUST NOTE!". It certainly gets a lot of attention and respect. It's a conversation starter at gas stations. The tires have life left. the brakes have life, don't squeak, and are nice and responsive. Everything works: Horn, hi-beam, etc. The swingarm has paint chips on the inside from the fender being removed, but nothing that is visible from afar or has any impact on performance. I hate to let it go, but I'm at a point in my life where I don't have time for it. Built as a styling exercise/concept bike for Buell and Harley Davidson on a stock new S1 Lightning in 1998. Designed by Bob Dron, owner of Bob Dron Design Center and Oakland Harley-Davidson in Oakland, Ca. The goal was to make the Buell sportbike more visually appealing and they definitely succeeded. The panels are hand formed aluminum by Steve Moal and his chief fabricator, Irishman Jimmy Kilroy. Paint was handled by master painter Steve Faraone. Beautiful piece of history that can be displayed or ridden. Only 90 miles since new. Runs great but the tires are original and will need to be replaced for normal riding.
