This is a rare opportunity to own a genuine Alan Knowles Custom One of a Kind Motorcycle. Allen Knowles is that rare builder who combines craftsmanship with a finely honed sense of aesthetics. But see for yourself, it’s your money, your taste. I would just like to say that some of Knowles’ bikes are in museums, yet he is not widely known, as he does not advertise and only builds very few bikes. You have to kind of be lucky to stumble upon his builds, as I was. In any case, I’ve been owning choppers for over 20 years now, and like many chopper fanatics have poured over thousands upon thousands of bike pictures in magazines and more recently online. The beauty and functionality of this bike are the culmination of all these years of “research”, if you can call obsessing over something research. To me a motorcycle is a functional work of art. There are many builders out there who will dazzle with their fabrication skills, yet the finished product rarely merits the word “art”. It’s the rare builder who finds that fine line of just the right amount of fabrication, and not too much “hey look at what I can do”. In my maybe not so humble opinion, Allen Knowles succeeded perfectly when he built this bike. Its timeless design will be an illustration of the height of bike building art for years to come as true style never goes out of fashion. Even in a city like Los Angeles, where custom bikes are a dime a dozen, this bike gets looks where ever it goes. In clubs, where owners only let the finest vehicles park up front, it’s the rare motorcycle that gets a spot amongst Ferraris, Lambhorghinis, and McLarens. Yet this bike gets a spot almost every time. Of course, you’ve heard the term panty dropper when it comes to motorcycles. Obviously, this bike won’t do the work for you, but girls love this bike! So, all that attention doesn’t go wasted, the bike has passenger foot pegs, and you can put a suction cup seat (not included) on the rear fender to give them a ride. Like I said, in a jaded town like LA where people have seen pretty much everything, this bike still gets ogled over, and people often are fascinated like little children when they see it. Truth be told, I still catch myself looking at this bike in wonder, and I’ve owned it for 7 years. After all this praise you might ask, why sell it? I’m going to India for 3 years to travel, and I’m selling pretty much everything I own. Frankly, I’ll use the money from this bike to partially finance the trip. So, if you buy it, aside from getting to own one of the most beautiful and cool bikes in the world, you’ll help me see this world! Being that I am a total stranger to you, I'm sure this will greatly matter to you :) As far as ergonomics, the bike is set up to fit me perfectly, and I’m 6’3”, but between adjusting the handle bars, the seat, and the foot pegs, you can ride this bike if you’re anywhere from 5’8” to 7'. This bike runs great, and needs nothing. I had it in storage for the last 2 years as I was already traveling all that time as well. Upon replacing the battery, and filling it up with fresh oil and gas, it fired right up! The bike looks perfect, only if you look close will you see minor signs of wear. People looking at the bike won’t notice, the only person who’ll see those little imperfections will be you. For example, there’s minor flaking of the chrome on top of the rocker box, (it seems some critter got in there and pissed on it when it was stored), rub marks on the frame where a saddle bag was mounted, and a few minor scratches in the paint. The bike has a spider theme, which runs uniformly throughout the design of the bike. The paint job is 6 grand alone, it’s an incredibly gorgeous combo of pin and ghost striping. If you look closely, you can see the ghost striping on the tank, fender, and oil bag. The frame, handlebars and wheels have been powder coated black.
