This was BMW? s ? back up? bike for the Battle of the Legends race held in Daytona in 1993 and was ridden in the later race by Walter Zeller. the paint is beautiful with only a few minor flaws some light scratches on the top of the tank. We have a 6 year history with this bike. We would be happy to answer any questions you have about this BMW motorcycle; please call us at 614.837.1160. We also cleaned and serviced the instrument cluster. All in all this bike is in much better cosmetic and mechanical condition than would normally be expected of a bike of this age and mileage. If you would like to take this bike out on a test ride please plan it for a dry day and call 24 hours ahead to schedule. Over the years the new owner installed a master cylinder kit and installed new front brake pads in the winter of 2007-08 a new sealed battery in April 2008 and he installed new fork seals and resealed the motor top end in April of 2009. the seat is missing the original lower edge trim but looks good with stainless fasteners along the edge. 1977 BMW R100/7 SOLD...... At the time of the trade in the previous owner reported oil consumption on his last trip of only 1 pint in 2 000 miles. We bought it and fixed it up and gave it a 10K service in late 2006 with 67 219 miles on it. We installed a new battery a new crankcase breather valve new steering neck bearings and had the final drive splines welded up and re-cut and re-hardened then the drive was reassembled with new seals. This blows it up to maximum size (about 6 times window size) and you can use the scroll bars to move around your view point like your eye is 2 feet from the bike. There is 1 key for the ignition and the seat lock and a second one that only works the seat lock. the bike now has just under 93 000 miles; it starts easily and runs smooth and strong. At that time we resealed the fuel tank de-carboned the heads and lapped the valves cleaned the carbs disassembled and inspected the forks and installed a ground upgrade kit on it. the MAC mufflers are in good physical condition but the chrome shows the years and they have some staining on the top of the right one. Sometime during his ownership he also painted the tank battery covers and front fender. It has obviously been well cared for. It has many years of good service left in it ready to go! the black paint is solid and shinny without any nicks or dings. This is at the minimum of normal oil usage for an air cooled BMW! In September of 2011 we got the bike back on a trade in and now we have given it another 10K Service and disassembled and cleaned and inspected the front forks and replaced the internal bumpers. It is obvious that this bike has been maturely ridden and very well taken care of throughout its life. the owner has had this bike since 1977 when it had only 7 000 miles on it. We rebuilt the del? Orto carburetors relined the fuel tank with POR15 fuel tank liner new fork seals all new wheel bearings and seals and rebuilt the petcocks. We also cleaned and Detailed the bike to the 1st level (looks GREAT from 6 feet). We repaired the broken Speedometer needle serviced the speedo & Tach. It has ? S? handlebars and bar-end mirrors. We resealed the top end both cylinders. We installed a good tested Used diode board and Used rotor to get the bike charging properly. the inside of the fuel tank has been relined with silver POR15 fuel tank liner; the job was performed perfectly. We also installed a Rebuilt bench seat with 1 piece grab-rail 1972-73 style. We also repaired the centerstand & sidestand pivots. Since we resealed the top-end a year ago we have seen no oil leaks. We happily accepted this beautiful bike into our inventory. The Kreem lining on the inside of the fuel tank was in poor conditioned so we removed it with acetone then acid etched the inside and re-lined it with POR15 for decades more of trouble free use. This 1970 R75/5 has been set up for 2-UP Touring. Both wheel hubs had the bearings serviced and new stainless spokes were installed in the rear wheel and trued (the front wheel had already been done). A /6 subframe was used and the improved /7 driveshaft / swingarm was chosen to stretch out the wheelbase. 2970302 ? 70 R75/5 LWB Convert Teal. Konis SS Exhaust 2970302 ? 70 R75/5 LWB Convert Teal. It is fully serviced and ready to travel. It was converted to Long wheel base for more stability and more passenger room for 2-UP touring. We cleaned the carbs inspected and re-sealed the engine top end honed the cylinders and installed new rings. the clutch assembly was upgraded to the more robust /6 style. the mid size 750cc motor will get superior fuel mileage and smoother running than the larger size motors and still has plenty of horsepower to get 2 people and camping gear up to safe merging speed by the end of a short on ramp or to pass a truck quickly on a two lane by running it up to 80mph+. It would be totally at home either on a remote two lane blacktop or on the Super Slab. We replaced the rear main seal and oil pump O? ring and lubed the clutch splines. Because there is now more room the battery box was converted to the /6 box to hold the larger battery...

1975 BMW R90/6 SOLD... Bored cylinders and honed to fit new Kolbenschmidt pistons and new rings. Transmission: Tore down and inspected all gears and shafts. Reassembled with all new bearings springs and seals. New drive shaft boot installed. Installed new lower rod bearings inspected pin bushings and found them at low end of tolerance. Starts easily runs well. Now that we have fixed the things that required special tools or special skills and knowledge somebody mechanically handy should easily be able to get this bike to dependable travel-worthy condition. We have made a very temporary patch on the mufflers with several layers of aluminum tape so we could test ride the bike. the clutch works well and the transmission shifts well. We also took off the 2 into 1 header and installed nice used OEM headers and new OEM replica /5 ? cigar tip? style mufflers. the Tank and front fender have been repainted and hand pinstripped as original. the previous owner had installed a 5 speed transmission instead of fixing the rumbling bearings on the stock 4 speed. There are shallow imperfections on both items not immediately noticeable until the light hits it just right. We chose to also leave those items like that. This blows it up to maximum size (about 6 times window size) and you can use the scroll bars to move around your view point like your eye is 2 feet from the bike. We resealed the left cylinder as the pushrod tube seals were leaking; the right is in good condition. While we were there we removed the clutch and cleaned up the friction disc and replaced the outer pressure plate with a resurfaced one. the clutch splines were also lubed at that point. the flaws: Before Powdercoating the previous owner failed to have the metal perfect on 2 items the headlight bucket and the right headlight mount. the previous owner recovered the seat with a new stock style cover with passenger grab strap and he painted the seat pan. We installed a new ignition switch and replaced the cracked circuit board with a good used one and straightened out the rewiring errors made by the previous owner. the Title is clear. It has had the frame subframe swingarm centerstand headlight mount ears headlight bucket and front turn signal mounts powdercoated in gloss black. We picked out a nice low mileage used 4 speed transmission opened it up and inspected and resealed it and reinstalled it in the bike. Deep Major Service (10K) + Cosmetic restoration. the Cosmetic restoration was started by one owner continued by the next owner and finally finished by us. We finished with an end-to-end 10K Service and a 1000 mile test ride to be sure everything was PERFECT (alright it was just so nice that we just wanted to ride it for a while!). the engine frame and neck badge numbers all match. He also somehow got 1972-73 style headlight mounts with the large 80mm reflector and the later style license plate bracket (also with the large reflectors) when he had the Powdercoating done. Also there is a small ding on the chrome headlight ring. VERY clean very nice This beautiful 1975 R75/5 has very low miles! It has just had a cosmetic restoration and deep service. While we were there we also cleaned and inspected the clutch parts and found those to be excellent also. To insure both cylinders running evenly we installed new rings on the pistons and gave both heads a full valve job with new valve guides so they would both be like new and run as a matched pair. Under 16 000 Miles. A new throttle tube and gear were installed. We opened it up and found the head had been damaged internally beyond easy repair so we found another low mileage cylinder and piston and another head. While the engine was apart we also inspected the crankshaft and bearings to insure there was no damage there. New plug wires and caps were also installed. When we bought it it had an internally damaged cylinder and head from something being dropped into the cylinder. We cleaned and reinstalled the clutch and lubed the clutch splines. the front fork was removed and disassembled and cleaned and new seals were installed. We replaced the cam chain slide rail and tensioner and resealed the front timing cover. As soon as weather permits we will be putting on some extended test ride miles; so far the 175 miles we have ridden the bike (BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!) it was perfect.
