Of the V7 versions this is the one that most approaches the original spirit of its ancestor, beginning from its graphics, christened "Essetre" (S3) and inspired by the famous 1975 V750 S3. Following this graphic concept, the V7 II now has three glossy colour bases: classic black with orange stripes to faithfully revisit the colours of its famous ancestor and two brand new schemes on metallic red and light blue with a silver stripe. The tank on both bears the historic embossed logo and the wheels, spoked with lightweight alloy rim channels, are also done in black finish instead of chrome. As with the Stone, the Special also has a new frame that stands out, besides for the different engine and shock absorber mounting distances, for an improved finish in terms of welding and paintwork, as well as for the redesigned black brake and clutch levers and the new rear light cluster. Unlike the Stone and the Racer, the V7 Special has a fork stanchion protector instead of the dust boots that are fitted on the other models in the range.

The Griso 8V SE might well be one of the most unique and captivating motorcycles to come out of the Mandello Del Lario factory. The bold character expressed in the nonconformist styling of the Griso is given further emphasis by the aggressive new black/silver color concept in a matte tone that flows elegantly with the numerous black painted metal elements such as the frame, wheels, steering plates, handlebar and instrument panel covers.

V7 II is now safer thanks to the standard dual channel Continental ABS system and traction control (Moto Guzzi Controllo Trazione) and more enjoyable to ride thanks to a new 6 speed gearbox. The revised engine position and improved ergonomics have greatly enhanced riding comfort. Seat is now lower at 31.1 inches - 790 mm as opposed to the previous 31.6 in - 805mm, also the footpegs have been lowered to make room for taller riders. The new riding position lets the rider enjoy the full benefits of the changes that have been made to the chassis which have made the front end more precise and efficient. All these improvements contribute to fully meet expectations in terms of aesthetics and riding pleasure.Eclectic and essential, the V7 II Stone comes in three bold new color schemes, Nero Ruvido and Grigio Intenso and Rosso Impetuoso. Satin finished shades, inspired by '70s color schemes are complemented by the contrast with new V7 II frame welding where brighter and deeper paint has been applied to enhance the ingenious architecture. The rest of the bike is dominated by blacked out parts, now also extended to the tail light assembly and the new brake and clutch levers. This look prominently presents the chrome on the silencers, instrument cluster profile, shocks and even the fins of the engine's aluminum cylinders, providing a stark but sophisticated contrast. The lightweight alloy wheel rims differentiate V7 II Stone ABS from the rest of the V7 II lineup, a unique modern concept on a decidedly vintage design.

Model V7 II Stornello

Category -

Engine 744 cc

Posted Over 1 Month

One of the winning characteristics of the V7 has always been the perfect balance between maintaining the typically Moto Guzzi stylistic values with the needs of a modern bike. A dialogue that remains intact on the V7 II Stornello as well. Just like the white/red Stornello 125 Scrambler version in 1972, the colour combination on the V7 II Stornello also plays a key role. Then, like today, the contrast created between the pastel white of the tank and the racing red of the frame, both in glossy finish, manages to strongly characterise the design, as well as enhancing the mechanics of the transversal 90° V twin engine strictly in matte black. The intense red of the frame is clearly revisited both on the tank, trimmed with a typical horizontal stripe in the same colour, with the Eagle from Mandello depicted in it, as well as on the new metallic tubular license plate bracket that uses the already refined V7 II light cluster. The laser inscribed number on the aluminium tag located on the upper part of the headstock identifies the unit number, highlighting its exclusivity.

The Audace can be picked out immediately by its front end, stylistically "lighter" thanks to the circular headlight unit and the (real) carbon mudguard mounted on a fork without coverings. There are several other new features that contribute to enhance the muscular character of this bike: like the oil cooler air-scoop, the metallic radiator grill and the brand new total-black short megaphone exhaust. Also all chrome plating has been eliminated, and every mechanical detail and each exposed metallic part has been blacked-out. The platform floorboards and rocker gear shift pedal mounted on all the other models in the range have been replaced by sportier footpegs mounted further forward with a classic gear shifter pedal. Particular attention was given to the saddle, covered in "faux leather" with exposed red stitching, lowered in terms of the seating position and installation ready for the foldaway passenger seat. The drag handlebar is also new which, thanks to the forward position of the footpegs and the different seating height, create a longer and more dominating riding position, compared to the California Custom. Other stylistic changes to contribute to a more aggressive look can be found in the details: the burnished valve covers, the rear shock absorbers with separate gas reservoir, the light alloy wheels personalized with the Moto Guzzi logo and the minimal black mirrors.

The flashback effect comes out in the details: the spoke wheels, the fuel tank with chromium sides, the oversize saddle, the rear mudguard with the gem-shaped taillight, the bullhorn handlebar, the passenger grab handle. Moto Guzzi has preserved the personality of its ancestor, flawless combining elements from the past with technological evolution and stylistic continuity. The flash forward effect is distinguished by the complex (polyelliptical) headlight shape equipped with LED daylight running light (DRL) a unique piece of design that is a work of art itself. The instrument panel is equally striking, contained in a 150 mm diameter circular panel with the analogue rev counter scale finding its place along the external circumference and a multifunction full-matrix suspended display at the centre, all packaged neatly, like a luxury watch, in a bright chromed housing. You never get on the Eldorado, but rather you settle comfortably into the saddle. Positioned just 28.5 in (724 mm) from the ground, the new saddle, together with the generous floorboards and the comfortable bullhorn handlebar grip, is an invitation to take a seat, press the start button and let the asphalt roll under your feet for at least 185 miles (300 km), which is the minimum range guaranteed by the sculpturesque 5.4 gallons (20.5 litre) fuel tank.
