In 2006, Stefan Everts was reigning world champion (with a mere 14 victories in 15 Grand Prix) and then he became KTM Race Director. Back then, he could already see where the future of motocross was heading and in KTM he found an ideal partner for his vision: efficient and maximum practicable performance from smaller displacements in an overall package that's tailored unconditionally to the requirements of the rider. Four years or so later, it's ready: the new 350 SX-F. With a new engine, fuel injection system and smaller displacement, new bodywork, new chassis - in fact, a whole new concept. What with the first Grand Prix victory and racing to the top of the overall standings in the MX1 class after only two races, maybe even the beginning of a new era in motocross...
Does anybody need the brutal power of a 450 SX-F? Well, we wouldn't say "really need" in the sense of "can't do without". However, we do completely understand that some people really want this brute force. Because taking a ride on a cannonball is potentially somewhat addictive. Who is better placed to understand that than we are? Anyway, we have practically redesigned the 450 SX-F as well, with new bodywork and new linkage-suspension. And we have even managed to worm a bit more power out of the carbureted engine.

2013 KTM 500 EXC Dual Purpose, Street Legal, Offroad Motorcycle. Excellent. Too much road, hardly any trails. Imagine a street legal Off road bike that can enter and win a race. This is what KTM has built. My dream has always been to have a dirt bike to ride to the trails without any hassles with the law and this bike fills that 110%. I have added a new FMF Exhaust with 2 cores, Engine Guard, an Akropovic Pipe Guard, Smaller Turn Signals (not shown) which can be removed as seen in the pictures, and competition EXC rear fender. Metzler 6 Days Rear Tire, and will include the original parts as well. The engine is fantastic, can be ridden as easily as you want. My trail days never really materialized except for two rides out a farm. So the bike is in excellent condition with approx 1,300 road miles on it and a few dirt roads at the farm. This was Motorcyclists Dual Purpose Bike of the Year three times I believe, twice for sure and there is nothing even close. Currently, retail for a 500 EXC is $10,400 at my dealer, so save yourself a huge amount over new and get a nearly new bike. Maintenance has been performed, three oil changes with filter, and no tampering with engine management systems. You can turn this into a full race bike with a dealer remap. Not my thing but it is an option. US ONLY!
