2009 Honda Xr 650L, Selling my 2009 Honda XR650L dual sport motorcycle. Need the cash for a motocross bike. This bike is in great condition and is a blast to ride. Here are some of the custom features of the bike: -Daves carb mods performed. -K&N air filter. -FMF PowerCore 4 exhaust pipe. Sounds amazing! -Pro Taper bars. -Turner bar risers. -Cycra bark busters. -XRs only skid plate. -XRs only pegs. -Clarke 4.7gal tank (see-through). -Polisport front fender, for an updated look. -Aftermarket rear fender (cant remember the manuf.). -Aftermarket enduro tail light. -Custom rear wheel: Anodized black rim with anodized red hub. CACR by RAD. -Super-white headlight and high beam bulb. -Custom turn signals, front and rear. It has 19,531 miles on it. However the engine was recently rebuilt (top end), and the new top end has about 100 miles on it total. The reason for the re-build was a broken valve seat, which damaged the piston. All four valves were replaced, the head machined and the piston chamber was bored slightly larger. New piston, rings, seals, etc. This work was done by the experts at Engine Dynamics in Petaluma, CA. I have the receipt. While the motor was out of the bike I also had a new clutch put in it. The bike has Dunlop D606 tires on it. They have not been used much at all, and have about 95% tread life. I am also including a set of Avon Distanzia tires, which are mostly street oriented. They have about 75% tread life left. Also part of this deal is the original tank and side panels, and the original front fender. Both are in excellent condition. Also included is a brand new OEM side cover (left side), which i bought a while back and never replaced. I hit a rock in Baja and scraped a gash into the cover which is now covered with JB weld. This happened over a year ago but i never got around to replacing it. Should have done it when i replaced the clutch recently but was missing a bearing that i didnt realize i needed to purchase. The brand new cover comes with the matching gasket as well. Also include is a new rear sprocket. Its black to match the rear wheel. Additionally, the bike comes with two side racks (not pictured). I use the side racks to strap on my Wolfman soft bags for dual sport trips. This bike is super fun to ride. With the mods to it, the bike has enough speed and power to really keep you excited about it riding around the city, but can also be a lot of fun in the dirt. Ive taken this bike to Baja twice and its unreal. Its completely street legal of course. The bike is registered through August of next year. I have the title in hand. $4,300 for the bike. Serious inquiries only. The only reason im selling this bike is because i need the cash for a motocross bike. I will consider a trade for a 2011-2013 YZ450F. $4,300.00

You could call this a 'mechanics special' for someone who likes to work on bikes. Yes, it's in pieces, but it's all there except for the rear wheel. Has clear title and matching numbers. The Bad: Needs a new lower end, meaning a new crankshaft, Conrod and piston assembly. It started knocking, so I pulled it apart with the intention of rebuilding. Ended up buying another running XR and neglected the 440. Also needs a rear wheel. A few parts were accidentally left out in the rain and have some surface rust that will come off with a wire wheel. However, the clutch friction discs may not have survived the rain damage. The Good: This bike REALLY kicked ass with the 440 motor, Mikuni pumper carb, White Brothers e-series performance exhaust and TCI competition throttle. The 440 kit was by 'Al Baker's XR's Only' and included their 'Big Fin' modified cylinder head. Fin extensions were welded onto the stock cylinder head fins allowing the hotter running 440 to keep cool. It was an absolute BRUTE! My CRF riding buddies were afraid of it, LOL! I no longer ride due to a knee injury and have sold off all my other bikes. This is the last one to go. Of all my bikes, this is the one that gave me the most smiles and memories of epic trail rides. It would be great to see it go to an enthusiastic builder who will bring her back to life. Otherwise I will end up parting it out, and that would be a shame! REASONABLE offers considered... Buyer is financially responsible for pick up and shipping. I will make myself available to meet the freight shipper at my house, for the pick up that you will arrange. I will carefully pack all the loose parts into a shippable box to guard against loss or damage in transit. I will also accept local pick up.
