Motorcycle: 2001 Ducati 996SPS +Lots of Spare PartsHere is a sport bike that does everything you ask of it and doesn't waste time asking questions. In its day it was the World Superbike winner and was designed for exactly that. All the adjustable suspension parts were installed on the production line and the only real modification was to add a PowerCommander to control the fuel a little better than the original ECU did by itself. It is important to note that this bike was originally purchased by a friend in England (I bought it from him) and this particular model was never released in the US so it is an extremely rare bike.It has had some challenges since I bought it in 2008 but all of them have been overcome. It comes with three sets of wheels: Street tires, track slicks, and rain tires (the track slicks and rain tires are for the track only). I have brakes for all three but only have two sets installed. It comes with factory service manuals, front and rear stands, and the original factory bike cover. The front stands can either be configured to pick up at the bottom of the forks or at the bottom of the steering head so maintenance on the forks is possible. The rear wheel comes off with a single bolt but the front is a standard two fork axle.The bike has spent some time on the track (where else are you going to properly play with a 180mph bike?) so it comes with a GPS track timer although it needs to be sent back to the manufacturer to correct an issue with the display. It also comes with some spare parts that are likely to be difficult to find; I don't have a full list but it includes a spare oil cooler, radiator, expansion coolant bottle, and some other interesting parts. Make sure you leave me your contact information and I will send you anything I find after the sale.The only way to describe how it has been maintained is to say it was over maintenanced. It has been to the dealership for every 6,000 mile maintenance as specified and has had its oil and filter changed every 300-500 miles for the last 12,000 miles due to the track time. Brakes have been replaced regularly and the clutch was replaced not so long ago.Summer is coming... You don't want someone else to buy this bike so you need to get your cash and check it outTest rides are no issue as long as I have the full asking price in cash in my hand at the time of the test ride so I don't take the risk.
