2003 BMW K 1200 RS, From where we sit, the K1200RS has always been something of a jackalope. You know, the beast immortalized on wacky roadside postcards: a composite creature with a jackrabbit chassis grafted to the top half of a puzzled antelope.The K-RS has the swoopy look and semiaggressive riding position of a corner-hungry sport-tourer. But its slow-revving-albeit-torquey engine, soft, tall suspension, clunky controls and prodigious mass make BMW's muscle bike reluctant to cash the checks its zoomy profile keeps writing. You can make one go fast, but we often get the sense it would rather slow down and graze the edelweiss.Enter the new K1200GT. It's the bike BMW faithful have been clamoring for-the same engine and chassis as the K-RS, but with a more upright riding position, comfortable seat and protective fairing. A rare opportunity!I bought the bike from the second owner who had it for over 20 years and stored for approximately the last 10 years. Looks great & runs fantastic. Great power, pulls well, handles wonderfully. All electronics work as they should. It has 29,196 miles and given the condition and mechanics of the bike I believe this is the true original mileage. Mileage may increase a little as I continue to ride the bike occasionally.Mechanically, the front brake master cylinder was rebuilt, all brake fluid was flushed and replaced, fuel petcocks were rebuilt, gas tank was flushed and cleaned with Metal Rescue (not relined with any of those crappy products). New NGK plus, ignition timed, carbs cleaned and adjusted, valves adjusted, all fluids replaced: changed motor filter & oil 15W50 Mobil 1 synthetic, transmission and drive 90 weight gear oil, fork oil replaced with Belray 7.5. Brand new Panasonic sealed battery. Metzeler tires are in good shape with lots of tread. The bike is ready to ride!

1994 BMW R 1100 RS ABS, The R259 1,085 cc flat-twin engine had a maximum output of 90 horsepower (67 kW). The engine was named "Oilhead" as it had air-cooled cylinders but oil-cooled heads. The BMW R1100RS had a frameless design, using the engine as a stressed member, an approach used by BMW for all subsequent oilheads (except the R1100S). Instead of having conventional telescopic forks, the R1100RS used BMW's own Telelever suspension which bolted directly to the engine. The Telelever design has a superficially similar appearance to telescopic forks, but braking forces are taken back horizontally, minimising "fork dive". A rear subframe supported the rider, passenger and luggage. Both fully faired and half-faired variants were available.
