We build bikes that leave indelible impressions. Tattoo Moto was created from the need to make ordinary bikes into inspired, unique machines. Born in Tattoo Projects ad agency, Tattoo Moto applies the same principals of creative strategy and showmanship to customs as we do to making creative brand campaigns for our clients. Any given day at Tattoo, bikes are being built alongside tv spots, digital campaigns, print ads, and package design. This kind of creative influence produces bikes with an unusual and memorable style. We thrive on re-imagining bikes and transforming them into statement pieces – they must first move a rider emotionally, before moving them physically. A lower stance. A stretched swing arm. A better-proportioned profile. Fatter tires. Gnarlier tires. Powder coating. Exhausts you can feel in the pit of your stomach. Bad-*** seats. From a slight tweak or tuck, to a full-blown tear-down and rebirth, we do the right stuff to bring out the soul of the bike. We started out with a nice, clean /5. First thing we did was replace those persnickety Bing carbs with some Makunis and the OEM exhaust with Moto GP's, so this motor could breathe. Next we tore off the sub-frame and fabbed up a new one, high and tight and added a custom leather seat. Slid the shock mounts up and strapped on a set of 15” Ohlins to give this bike a little more travel, then we called our friends at RaceTech and ordered up some new fork springs and did a complete rebuild on the front end.  We wired this bike up with an M-Unit control box and cleaned up the wiring harness. The instrument cluster was refurbished by Overseas Speedo and the headlight bucket and mounts have been powder-coated gloss black - Renthal bars and leather Brooks bicycle grips finish off the cockpit of this kick *** Beemer.  Boxer Metal did a killer job on the rims and hubs with gloss black powder coating and then laced them up with stainless steel spokes and we wrapped them in some nice Continental dual sport tires. This bike is a daily and it's a blast to ride. Provided you can avoid all the folks who will want to talk your face off about how kick *** of a bike it is!!

This particular bike has resided on my block now for over 42 years.  I first saw it drive by when I was 19.  I was impressed as the owner Don, who was our neighbor and mailman always putted by so slowly, and so quietly.  I remember it was not like a Honda 305, or a BSA like my cousin owned in the 60's.  I told myself that one day I would buy Dons bike.  As time went on, I grew up, had children, rode a dual sport type Yamaha 600 (Thumper) occasionally, and always kept in the back of my mind owning Dons R75/5.About 15 years ago, I saw Don one evening walking to the corner, I never had spoken to him, but now in my mid 40's, I had to talk to him and ask him if he still had the BMW, since he didn't seem to be delivering the mail anymore, and I never saw him drive by.  He told me he had it the garage, said he bought it in '74, he was the 2nd owner.  A couple of years past, and I saw that Dons house was for sale, I found out Don had passed away, and the estate was in probate. Another 6 months, maybe a bit longer passed, and one day coming home from worked, I saw my bike in Jims garage.  I stopped and asked, was that Dons BMW ?  Jim said yeah!  He had just purchased it from Dons son (somehow), and then I told Jim the story, that I'm sharing with everyone now.  Jim likes to work on motorcycles, clean them up, tinker with brakes and carbs and get them running again.  I simply said to Jim, "whenever you decide to sell it, please knock on my door, I will buy it from you!"Well, March 2005, I get laid off from a 9 year job, three months later Jim is knocking on my door, "hey, I have the bike for sale in Craigslist, and a guy is coming to see it right now.  You said you wanted me to let you know when I was ready to sell it"  I simply said, "How Much" and 'Will you take a check ?" So finally I got my bike after 30 years of waiting.  Funny thing, I never rode the bike.  Just kept it with my collection of other bikes. Now at 60 plus, it's that time, kids have grown up, I've given a few bikes to my sons, and I've elected to sell a couple other vintage bikes to get rid of some cluster. So.....Up for offer is my 1973 BMW R75/5 motorcycle, it is original, except for maybe the battery, plugs and sparkplug cables. Speedo shows 43,xxx miles.  Everything works!  Asking price $11,500

What can you say about the legendary R75/5 that hasn't already been said? First modern BMW (electric start) and the "other" bike in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. This has been mine since 1994. It has served me well, crossing the country multiple times in style. Two owner bike, it was purchased in Chicago from a dealer as one-owner used in May of 1994. I have done very little apart from regular riding and regular maintenance. It has the untouched varnish of a beautiful old machine. That said, I did have Irv Seaver in Orange, CA take apart the motor and replace all the seals a few years ago, and last year the vintage BMW specialists Black Kat Motor Werks fixed the speedo, worked out some electrical gremlins, put on new shocks, redid the front fork oil and a bunch of other things they noticed. It is ready to ride. It starts great, rides awesome, charges great. No leaks that I am aware of. Tires are great. The nits: couple of minor nicks in the tank (shown in photos) and blue striping has worn in a couple of spots. Tail light housing a little roughed up. Also, left side of rear fender had some battery acid spilled on it. All are easy fixes. It also has the tab to the centerstand broken off which happens to 99% of them. Easy fix, or ignore. This thing attracts attention everywhere I go. Real vintage style, totally rideable, great but not repainted or otherwise retouched. This is a very sentimental ride for me, and while I need the room and I don't ride it enough I want it to go to a great owner.Email me with questions. I can also email some videos of the bike smooth running. Bike is also for sale locally, so keep that in mind.

1970 BMW R75/5 (SWB) I am the 3rd owner of this gorgeous bike, that spent its entire life in Louisiana until April of 2016. It had only 13k miles on it, and now has 15k. It was running well when I got it, but It's now had extensive restoration work, including but not only, new Omega charging system, battery, seals, fluids, lines, carbs rebuilt, brakes, RaceTech front suspension, Hagon rear shocks, low euro bars, kick stand springs, original style center stand, and more... I have all of the receipts from the items that are listed, and most of the receipts and records for repairs from the BMW shops in Louisiana over the course of its entire life, as well as original manuals and a Clymer Airhead manual. It was a nice bike when I got it, but now it's really something special! Sad to let her go after all this, but not in a position to have a bike at this moment, and need the money more than the bike too probably. Asking $7,250

1976 BMW R75/6, 20K miles, 100% all original parts (including tools) + saddlebags and running perfectly. Antique, a true beauty. Selling because I am moving into an apartment and need to get a newer bike. Would trade for a R1200R. Serious buyers! Cash and local pick up only. Some comments from questions that potential buyers have had: Now, in terms of details of this motorcycle: 1- I am the 3rd owner of this bike. 2- We did a fine tuning of the bike about 2 months ago (changed spark plugs, rubber protectors, put in a brand new battery) so it runs perfectly good. My next move on the bike was buying a new seat as the one it has (original) is just a bit rusty. You get a lot of options from ebay and other online vendors. 3- If you wish to buy this bike, you must keep in mind it is an antique. It powers on, you can drive it and you will have an amazing ride, but every now and then you need to take care of it. This is definitely a bike you want to have and take care of. Also having space to store it correctly is important. There is another person interested about this bike who asked the this same question, and I replied this same comments. His response was that he wanted to restore it and put it in his living room. So, in essence, I purchased this bike about a year ago. I took short and medium trips (my office commute of 15 mins and a few trips to West Palm Beach of about 1-2 hrs), which were a lot of fun and the bike performed well.

1973 BMW R75/5 custom motorcycle. Frame powder coated, lowered front end, good tires, 900cc engine kit, heads were rebuilt. Engine has approx. 2000 miles on it since top end re-build. Custom seat and mount, rear shocks. Rims are in good shape. Kick start only. Have re-pro coffee can taillight (not installed but wiring is all there). Wasn't sure if that was the light I was going to go with. Local bike show winner. Has sat for over a year and now has an oil leak from gasket at driveshaft and tranny shift shaft. Fuel tap leaked and messed up paint on bottom part of tank. Smokes slightly when I rode it the other day when you get on the throttle, might have just been from sitting. Clear NM title in my name Resisting due to non payer. Please do not bid if you don't intend to buy. Thanks
