2013 marked the 90th anniversary of the BMW "boxer" opposed twin motor. To commemorate this; BMW released a limited number of special editions in the RT, R, and GSA models. Along with being fully loaded from the factory, these models wore a beautiful Sapphire Black Metallic paired with matte black/gold accents, graphite engine, drivetrain, and frame, and an exclusive brass emblem on the fork bridge. This 90th anniversary R1200RT was purchased here and owned by one of our own; so it's safe to say we know this bike well! In his time with the machine he added the stylish 28l top case, knee pads, side case scuff buffers, sidestand foot, cylinder guards, saddlebag reflectors, and a brake pedal extension. As noted before this was a fully loaded model which included ESA II, heated grips and seats, bluetooth, cruise control, ASC, and much more!

They don't arrive in nicer overall condition with a complete back story and total history as often we we'd like. While Bob's did not sell this bike when brand new, we did take it in trade some years back from the original owner, do a full servicing to it as is standard here at Bob's BMW in the Mid-Atlantic region and find the next great home and owner for it. Now it's back at Bob's having been traded in towards a brand new R1200RT and this one could be your dream RT. That transaction took place back in 2012 when the bike had barely 6,000 miles. Today after regular service and several enjoyable adventures (solo and two up) it has still what is considered low miles at just under 30,000 and like before we've just completed a full service completing the Inspection 2 plus what is classified as a 24/30K service. It arrived with nearly new tires that were installed while the oil and filter were changed at 28,811 miles in October of 2016 here at Bob's so they have just over 1,000 miles and are in perfect condition.

Originally sold and always serviced at Bob’s it has always been garaged when not being used. We think you’ll be very pleased and impressed with this offering upon a close inspection and a through test ride.This bike was first delivered in November of 2011 and came to us with plenty of great BMW stuff. Included by BMW in the initial build were heated seats, cruise control, the factory accessory outlet, heated grips, on-board computer. Electrically adjustable windscreen, luggage rack, saddlebag mounts and color matched BMW touring cases, adjustable height riders seat, tankbag mounting system, stainless exhaust system, Tele-Lever and Para-Lever suspension components.The R1200RT has one of the smoothest running 1,200 cc (1,170 actual) engines available, coupled with a very efficient 6 speed gearbox and a quiet and smooth driveshaft and final drive makes these machines near care free for typically a very long life with regular maintenance. With 110 HP, 115 Ft. Lbs. of torque and a very low 505 pounds dry weight these machines glide down the road. All that fun is complimented with a 7 gallon fuel capacity for an anticipated average range of well over 250 miles.This one has seen several very nice additions that add considerable value from any perspective. There is a nice set of cylinder guards and multi-position riders highway pegs, rear P3 LED lights, a Centec fuse block for easy additions of electrical goodies, a nice Kryptonite Lock w/3 keys, the standard addition of a Powerlet at Bob’s plus a full set of adjustable and rebuildable Ohlin’s shocks for an exceptionally nice ride which can be dialed in to your specific needs by our in-house suspension experts. 2008 BMW R1200RT RT

2008 BMW R1200RT, It’s not too often that one can find a superb low mileage example of one of the most popular and highly rated touring bikes six years after it was sold new and it only has 6,500 miles on it. It’s also rare to find one in such perfect cosmetic and mechanical condition. In this case it helps that it was sold new at Bob’s in late 2008 and while it never had lots of service due to the very low mileage it was all performed here.Bob’s is also pleased to share that when the 2014 R1200RTW rear shock recall was taking place we loaned this machine out to one of our affected clients so he could take his planned motorcycle vacation. At the time he rode away it had just 4,120 miles on it. Then roughly a week after it came back with about 5,700 miles we gave it to one of our local MSP or Maryland State Police motor officers while we repaired the final drive in his official R1200RT-P so he didn’t have to walk home! As a result we are highly confident that this bike is in perfect mechanical shape.Since its return we’ve gone over it once more and performed a second professional detailing so that it glistens like a new bike. And an up close inspection will prove to you that it is in exceptionally fine cosmetic shape from end to end. If you have a great and very critical eye you may find one or two tint scratches that were touched up and polished out but aside from those it is near new visually; even the header pipes have broken in highly evenly and golden as one hopes for. All the hardware, fasteners and little bits are in beautiful shape – even rubber parts look fresh.When we sold this bike the first time to the first and only thus far it came equipped with the heated seats, factory electronic cruise control, heated grips, on board computer, the factory accessory socket, Para-Lever and Tele-Lever suspension, ABS, electrically adjustable windscreen, adjustable height riders seat, stainless steel exhaust system with catalytic converter, easily removed color-matched touring saddlebags and a host of other standard features that have kept the R1200RT at the top of the touring bike list year after year.Since delivery we assisted the original owner in adding a BMW 49 liter top case which would hold a pair of helmets plus it’s easily detachable like the saddlebags and is key matched to the bike. There is also a BMW multi-Vario tankbag which is not shown but is in excellent condition. The stock screen was replaced with a very nice Z-Technic screen for slightly more coverage and a quieter ride for most riders. And once in our hands we added a new set of the factory cylinder guards as we believe they are a smart addition and the original owner never added these. We’ve also upgraded the factory accessory outlet to a Powerlet version as it’s just more useful and flexible.
